What a shame. I thought Mutant Mudds was ok, but I had hopes that Xeodrifter was going to be an improvement. I guess not. It got a lot of good reviews though when it came out on the 3DS.
Maybe I'll just fire up Metroid on the VC and give that a play instead.
I say "unsatisfied" because the first place I saw some of these mock ups was on neogaf where the thread was nothing but complaints about how "cheap" and awful the Vader console looked.
It's a good list of games, but for people who have followed these sales for awhile will experience deja vu. Quite a few of the games have already been on PS+, so many of us already have them. And a number of the other games have been featured in other Flash Sales within the past few months. Maybe they're going to try again with an even lower price point this time. That might get me to pick up the Lego Movie game for PS4.
I love games like this for when you just have a few minutes to kill and you just want something fun for a bit. I can't see myself playing this for long periods of time, but 5-10 minutes here and there is about right. I think comparing it to Jet Car Stunts is appropriate since that's how I play that game.
I don't get why so many people are hating on the Darth Vader PS4. Personally I think it looks great. It's not as in-your-face as the gaudy Xbox 360 one was. If I'm going to put a customized console in my entertainment cabinet, I want it to be subtle and I think this one works perfectly.
Though it probably works best if it's standing up.
This game checks off all the right boxes. 2D side scrolling stealth game on the Vita? Hell yeah. Throw in some steampunk awesomeness to sweeten the deal and a little instant-death just for flavor.
Can't wait to check this one out.
The more I see it, the more The Swindle looks really interesting to me. I love these side scrolling platformers on my Vita. Fez, Spelunky, Rayman, you name it. They all work really well on a handheld. I can't wait to try this one out at the end of the month.
The PSTV is a sneaky bastard. It seems so limited at first, and people always like to point out its flaws. Yes, the memory cards are pricey. Yes, it only plays a select number of Vita games. No, it doesn't play Gravity Rush or Uncharted.
But then you look at what it does do, and it really starts to become endearing. It has a huge library of Vita games that it can play, including Freedom Wars, Killzone, and Borderlands 2. It plays PS1/PSP classics (something which PS4 owne...
That's where Sony went wrong. They wanted it to be a handheld for mature gamers and ignored the kids. Then a year ago they started to change things around.
Now, with Minecraft, the Vita is the best handheld available for young and mature audiences.
The Vita library is incredible and if what it has can't save it, then I doubt any future game will either.
The problem the Vita has is that everyone is so caught up on the prices of the memory cards. Never mind it has an amazing game library and PS+ members get two free games every month. People overlook the amazing Remote Play abilities, PS Now capabilities, and access to a huge catalog of PS1, PSP, minis, and Vita games. All they see is a memory card price that is highe...
I grew up playing LucasArts adventure games. That this game is coming to the Vita is like a dream come true. Add to that Day of the Tentacle down the road and things couldn't get any sweeter.
Haven't played Broken Age yet, but it looks and sounds fantastic.
I've found Walmart to be too expensive. Amazon usually has the best prices, and Target puts them on sale quite a bit.
It's a bit surprising to see so many characters from Inside Out. There had probably be a playset to go along with them.
I'm now curious to see what else they have planned. DI 2.0 went too heavy with the Marvel stuff and I think it alienated a number of players. Hopefully the playsets this time around are a little more diversified.
I seriously hope this isn't true. I'm not a fan of shopping at Gamestop, but I guess I'll have to put my feelings aside to get it. Infinity on my Vita is all too perfect.
The problem is that the news we read and the opinions we see are only from those in the West. In the West, the home console rules. Handheld gaming was cute for awhile, but smartphones have made them completely obsolete. In Japan however, handheld gaming is still king. The Vita has picked up serious traction there lately and Sony isn't simply going to abandon that market and give all those customers over to Nintendo
The problem people seem to have is that Sony isn't us...
3DS has the edge in hardware sales, but not as dominant as it once was. What surprises me is the software sales for the Vita. You know, where the real money is made. Those are some pretty impressive numbers for Sony's "dead" handheld.
This is an argument I never understood. Buy a used console and a bunch of used games and it will be cheaper than PS Now. In that model the people who made the game get absolutely nothing for their work. If you're going to do that, why even pay for the game at all? Why not just pirate it? Or just steal it. I mean, why not just steal a new PS3 and a bunch of games and pay absolutely nothing? Only suckers pay for games.
I like PS Now because don't want another device clu...
Well, when you combine all SKU's of 3DS, the Vita falls behind, but it's still pretty close.
The Bloodborne sales aside, what caught my eye the most was how well Vita games were selling in Japan. That number for Sword Art Online is really impressive. The Vita could be mounting a challenge in its home country.
I think I just heard my bank account cry a little.
Project Root, Broken Age, Shovel Knight, Titan Souls.... There's just too much going on! I love it!!
If you like side-scrolling 2D indie games, you're going to love the free games in September!
Once again, the two PS3 games are the best of the bunch (though fortunately Teslagrad is also on the PS3 and soon on the Vita). Twisted Metal is a pretty good game and Teslagrad is extremely enjoyable.
Xeodrifter and La Mulana will appeal to a very specific, niche group of people. Xeodrifter was so-so on the 3DS, but when compared to other titles on the Vita or PS...
