The problem is that Nintendo keeps making consoles and expecting game developers to conform to their way of thinking. However, this isn't the 80's anymore. Nintendo isn't the only player in town and they don't have a monopoly any more. Far from it. Game developers are also making games for PCs and the other consoles. So as long as Nintendo insists on charting their own course, they're not going to have the kind of success they could have. That's what Sony learned. Give...
This game was brilliant when it first came out and i"m glad to see it stands the test of time. Can't wait to play it.
I think Ascension got bad reviews because it was a prequel, which are inherently less interesting. There's no drama since you already know the outcome of the story, and the God of War games have thrived on their stories. GOW 1 was amazing in which it revealed little by little the backstory of Kratos. GOW 2 continued that great story with how the gods of Olympus feared Kratos and betrayed him. GOW 3 was really more like GOW 2.5 as it was just a continuation of the previous story. Then Asce...
What about Kratos passes the Blades of Chaos off to a Viking warrior?
I say keep Kratos and have it be a sequel. He just finished killing Zeus and the gods of the north are watching in terror. This mortal has slaughtered their fellow gods and they may be next. Odin, Thor, and the rest team up to finally kill Kratos and keep the gods of the world safe. Would be cool if they also brought the Egyptian gods into the fold as well.
I'm not a big co-op fan and enjoy these exploration games played solo. This game reminds me of Starflight, which I spent more hours playing than I care to admit. I like everything they're saying about NMS. While others might find it boring or whatever, this is what I like in games. I don't want Dark Souls. I don't want a competetive FPS. I want to wander and explore a vast and amazing world. NMS provides near limitless worlds to explore.
No Man's Sky is the game I've been waiting my whole life to play. I have a feeling that once it's out, I'll be done with getting anymore video games. This is the one I'm going to be playing for years.
Actually, Nintendo's statement was a bit more nuanced. They said the production was going to continue for the next quarter and for months after that. So technically, they could end production in December and their statement would still be true.
I don't think they can drop the price of it much further, and that's the problem. They made the system burdened with a really expensive controller that prohibits how low they can drop the price.
I think Ni...
I've been playing BroForce for constantly and I haven't had any problems. I'm not sure what I'm missing, but the game works great for me.
Plants vs Zombies wasn't a PS+ game. It was a freebie offered by EA during the first PlayStation Experience.
As for me, I was a bit bummed this month. I saw a bunch of games I'd never heard of and didn't care about... just like last month.
Remember the good ole' days when the service first launched on Vita? Uncharted, Gravity Rush, WipeOut all on day 1. There was no "well the system is still young so we have to wait to get the bigger game...
In November 2014, PlayStation acknowledged people's frustration with only getting these little indie games for free. They put up a blog post letting the world know that they were listening and that AAA retail games were on their way.
Injustice was coming. Infamouse SS: First Light was coming. And there would be more! Except there weren't more. And people feel let down.
But if Knack was offered, people would just complain that it was crap because of its low metacritic score.
GoldenEye was the right game at the right time. Trying to recapture that lightning in a bottle is impossible. Just remember it for the wonderful game it was and move on.
It's like saying, "Remember how much fun we had when we were in high school? We should go back to that." No. No we shouldn't. Never.
I don't understand the outrage over an updated console. If you still make the PS4/XB1 the baseline for all games, then nothing would change. You would have:
A. No updated console and games would look the same as they always would.
or
B. An updated console where those without it would have all games look and run the same as in option A but those with an updated console would get a better resolution and maybe 4k.
What's so bad about that?
I appreciate what they tried to do with the gamepad, but it made the console too expensive. It also made sure that the price of the console could never be significantly reduced. I hope they make their next system more affordable and accessible.
Actually, Sony via the PlayStation Blog confirmed there were no pre-orders for the stand alone saying:
"The core PS VR bundle, which has a suggested retail price of $399.99 USD / $549.99 CAD, is not available for pre-order."

So how is this news?
Sheesh. Let people be nostalgic. If you don't like playing old games, don't play them. There's plenty of choice.
And despite what everyone says, I really like Altered Beast. Maybe it is because I have fond memories of first playing it when I was young, but those memories are a part of who I am. Nostalgia or not, I enjoy it.
From a consumer standpoint, it wouldn't make sense to make someone have to buy a camera again if they already have one. Many (maybe not most) have had the camera since the PS4 first launched. It was so popular that it was nearly impossible to find shortly after launch.
I have the camera. Millions of people probably have the camera. So why should Sony force those people to have to re-buy the camera again? I also have a Move controller lying around the house. Why would I w...
Ori isn't out on the PS4 therefore it's guaranteed to be a total failure. I mean, isn't that what we can conclude from its developer's NX comments?
I get it, and it sucks. Sony Santa Monica were having fun with the names of the trophies for God of War Ascension when suddenly a bunch of game reviewers (mostly men) were offended by the "Bros before Hoes" trophy title. How could they be so sexist? What was Sony thinking? This is an outrage. SSM had to issue a patch to change the name of trophy because a bunch of men knew that they were supposed to be offended by it even though the woman who created it thought it was just in good f...
