Just in terms of visuals, this game looks to be intense. These shots look more polished than the last batch. Hopefully it will have excelent gameplay to back up the visuals.
You do realize this is like the 20th article with the same title. Until 2010 it's all just speculation. I don't think everyone of these articles warrants a flame war.
Sorry, but after buying my PS3, Resistance, and Vitual Fighter 5, I'm not feeling too "hosed". I enjoy Playstation because of the titles that go along with it. I never expected it to have more games, or a AAA title right out of the gate. I will also never pay to play deathmatch or capture the flag a la XboxLive. As long as I can jump into a game, I couldn't care less about a unified friends list. So your only selling point seem to be less hardware for a cheaper price, 1 or 2 good ga...
I have the distinct feeling that this game is being delayed for a simultaneous release with the console versions. Come on Valve stick up for your fans(PC players).
Console gamer will probably only be able to get access to 5% of the mods that PC players can get, because they have to pass through the devs first. And how does this put the PC mod in danger. Mods will always have to be done on the PC, no one is going to me modding on a console.
WOW is different. You are paying for the storage of an unlimited number of characters and an entire online world to move around in. Your paying for deathmatch and capture the flag. Big difference
No, But was it better than Half-Life 2? NO...People loved it because Multiplayer is fun and people are predisposed to HALO. It's almost a foregone conclusion that if you have an Xbox your buying HALO.
Because MS has to compete with other free gaming community services(Gamespy, XFire), which offer mostly the exact same things. There is no one to compete against on Xbox so they can charge what they want, they also have to pay for all their servers. The only thing they have to offer is PC-360 play.
Im going to wait untill the first DX10 games start coming out though. Then we'll see what kind of choices there are for cards.
I don't miss an indistinct shake that could mean anything in-game. I got hit by a car, I shot a gun, I got shot, I got blown-up....The only game that did anything Interesting with it was Metal Gear, but nothing really game altering. If they could better imitate gun recoil or direction, that would be something else.

He's comparing apples to oranges. Sure, maybe more people play Pong on their cell phone than own a console. Who cares? Can you charge $50 for a 2D arcade game. Cell phone games may get more sales but console gaming will have the higher profit.

Thats why it received more than 35 Game of The Year awards. The only game that is living off the hype of it's predecessors is HALO. The only thing this proves is that episodic content doesn't work unless you can roll out an episode every half-year. Since this is Valve I'm sure they won't dissapoint with content, better then waiting another six years for a sequel.
I agree with you about baseball and NFL but leave Hockey out of it. Ultimately it's the same concept as football(European), and it requires just as much skill and talent. And on the subject of overate sports...how in the hell did you overlook Nascar?
