Were you alive in the early 90's? I ask because if you were, and you played games, chances are, you had a Gameboy or a Game Gear, and maybe even both.

The Gameboy Color hadn't come out yet, and the gameboy was still back and white, had very ugly games, and was, just all around, an inferior system. Game Gear had beautiful graphics (it looked as good as any game back in those days), felt more natural to hold, even, and was basicly the superior system in every way.

It takes some calculating, but using the games sold on wikipedia (out of date, more have been sold than what they say), and the console sold from vgchartz (and so many people say the number of consoles for the Wii is high), its between 4 and 4.5.

I give a range because the data is from different times and people don't find either site reliable.

Last I heard, this is better than the PS3. The 360 is in a world of its own. The last I saw some 360 fanboy is braggin...

360 will get the single biggest selling game, most likely, with Halo 3 (though its unlikely to overcome Pokemon Diamond/Pearl for the year), but overall, Nintendo will win, between the Holy Trinity.

Can't stop the kids from getting their games, and I know plenty of 13-18 year olds that are just dieing for Halo, and they'll get it for the holidays before their dad gets Mario.

On that note, though, it's likely the Wii games will have longer legs.

I'm with you, Dude. There's no way I can afford a bluray player, and I'm not really a big fan of buying something just because some corperations say I should.

It's a bit painful, because I won't be getting this on DVD either (I'm not going to get a Disney movie at all while they're neutral...oh, the pain thinking Fox has the Simpsons...), but even as individuals, we have to send messages to companies to tell them what we want. All studios should be neutral, though, and let th...

It's 5% too low in the bluray version. If one version gave you feet for the whole movie and another gave you the DVD view of the movie, you certainly wouldn't say the DVD view is as messed up as the one that shows only feet, would you?

The DVD version is how it's supposed to be, no problem at all. The bluray version is 5% lower, which does give you more, lower, but you're not supposed to be seeing it.

The question is why did this happen. It went ok with DVD obviously.

If Disney is investigating, that tells me it wasn't on purpose, as some people thought, so the only question left in my mind is about the different people with their hands on getting it to bluray and DVD. Is there some reason because of the people that the bluray version could have gotten messed up, or is the format that hard to make movies on?

If its the first, Disney screwed up in hiring some...

He's not always wrong.

If I say I'm going to die tomorrow every single day, I'll be right once. I may be wrong thousands of times before that, but my prediction will be right sometime.

Same with him. If the PS3 price doesn't drop to that point by then, he'll predict it again, and, sometime, he'll eventually be right.

No matter what, they won't try much. After all, why would you make a game that requires the DS and GC for its full potential? You're just cutting out some of the market like that.

Anything that comes of this will be almost totally, if not totally, from what Nintendo makes. Pokemon, for instance, let's the Wii and DS communicate, but its doubtful you'll see anything similar on Monster Lab.

It's true, but no one wants to admit it.

The Wii is doing this gen what made the PS2 successful in the past, its offering games for everyone that has a TV and likes to have fun. There are only a few games with really complex controls, but simple controls aren't always just for the casual gamer.

A little of everything will go much further than a lot of one thing. Nintendo, this time around, is giving us a little of everything.

PS2, DS, Wii, the su...

Skies of Arcadia is like RPGs in 10 years, seriously. No game, to my knowledge, ever gave you more options of what to say in a single player game. In the future, mark my words, all RPGs will be like that and will heavily influance the rest of the game, not just give you a different title.

I can say the same about the discoveries. I would imagine RPGs in the future will have some very well hidden things, but they'll do more than give you a little extra cash.

I ...

They can't ruin Civ with this game anymore than they ruined Mario with Sunshine.

Even if its a huge bust, its not the end of the world.

That being said, it seems Sid Meier may really think that console gamers are stupid and the real stuff should be saved for the PC, or maybe he's taking a chance and willing to change some things that are getting really old. Let's face it, Civ has been getting old. The last thing we really need is another hugely complex system o...

Generally you don't pay attention to the hands, but you do the eyes. When the tops of heads are cut off, its noticable, but when parts of the bottom are missing, its expected, because rarely do we see a whole body.

The DVD is as it should be. Missing fingers or light on the floor is the price you pay for getting more than half a face or legs fighting.

If Disney did it on purpose, to cover up doubles, they're not doing bluray any favors by not annoucing it, beca...

I'll call it growth if Diamand/Pearl outsells Red/Blue/Green.

That's a tall order, becoming the second best selling game...ever, but that's where Red/Blue/Green sit right now, and, obviously, for growth to occur, you need more to sell later than you did at first.

I doubt Pokemon can do that.

No online was a killer for me. I wasn't going to get it when I heard that.

No downloadable content? That, I don't care about at all, unless its something they're "giving" us because the game isn't done, in which case I would go back to knowing I'm not getting it, but I wouldn't get it even if it was fixed (give me a finished game or nothing, I say).

I don't think that's the case, though, so having online, yeah, it's back to me getting it, now.

Looking only at the PS3 and Wii, by the time the PS3 is $400, the Wii will be just about at the end of its life, and Nintendo will be ready to introduce a new $250 console with graphics that compare fairly well to the PS3, and the Wii will end up somewhere around $100 (Nintedo could do that already and lose less than Sony).

You can't ignore the prices of the other consoles dropping, and you talk about developers, which are important, and they could lose, since the PS3 isn't sel...

According to Google, its a malware site too.

Not a site I would trust at all, for multiple reasons.

I don't think a lot of rentals is generally a good thing.

Obviously, a hugely popular game will get more sales and rentals than an average game, but the way I see it, very good games get a lot of rentals and sales.

Good games get less rentals and more sales.

Bad games get more rentals and fewer sales.

Really bad games get a few sales and fewer rentals.

Bioshock and MP3 are very popular games that blow everyone else awa...

I believe the Wii is still sold out just about everywhere, but I don't think NA is going to see all those Wii's Japan is missing.

It would be downright stupid for Nintendo not to stockpile Wiis for the holidays. They'll never hope to meet demand, But the more Wiis that hit shelves closer to the gift giving holidays, the better chance Nintendo has of keeping people in the hunt.

If the Wii stays as scarce as it has been, people will just give up, and Nintendo does...

Next gen is just a buzz word anyway to make people want to spend more money for a new console when their old one has all the games they want to play for a while anyway.

The Wii is grouped with the PS3 and 360 because it fits the trend of advancing from the previous generation. Accelerometers being used in game control is rare (using them at all is pretty rare). In fact, a better question would be why are the 360 and PS3 considered next gen, when all they do is provide more po...

You seem to have a little something reversed.

I believe you mean the PS3 and 360 aren't in the same league as the Wii.

After all, combined, most of the time, the PS3 and 360 sales can't match Nintendo's production (and they sell all they produce).
