I find it hard to believe MS will keep on the 360 for very long. After all, they said it would take to their 3rd generation to make a profit, and come 2009, after the 360 has been out for 4 years, some new technology is going to be looking really good to them. I seriously doubt the 360 lives more than 6 years.
Nintendo won't be jumping the gun in 2011, 5 years after the Wii, when they make a new console. 1986, NES. 1991, SNES. 1996, N64. 2001, GC. 2006, Wii. Nintendo ha...
I doubt the Wii will change much, but it may rope the majority (either Sony or MS need to join to get the makority, since their's only 3...) into going with the 5 year lifecycles Nintendo has had since the NES.
In 2011, Nintendo will likely release a new console that will be cheap but overcome the next MS console (assuming a 4 year cycle for the 360, as it was for the xbox) that would have come out in 2009 and the PS3, only halfway though its lifecycle, in power.

They could storm onto the scene, offer much more space than bluray, and Sony has made comments that say bluray is already being pushed near, or even to, its limits. If this is indeed the case, we can see the death of bluray and HD DVD comming already, and if its not, its sad, Sony propaganda for bluray. Either way, its not good.
It wouldn't take many upgrades, because its really pretty much just a DVD with 200 layers, and not taking lots of upgrades is good for people making ...
Almost.
Actually Sony made a deal with Nintendo that if the SNES used their addon, that any game/character used on it would be Sony, not Nintendo's property.
Nintendo backed out on Sony because they did not want to lose all of their franchise characters. Nintendo stood to lose all the Mario characters, Metriod, Zelda, Kirby, and, quite basicly, every single character you see in Smash Bros.
Nintendo backed out of the deal because Sony was trying to...
Maybe I'm totally different from everyone else, but once I get into a game, it could go black and white and I wouldn't notice. I have these "wow" moments every now and then if I see something really pretty, but for the most part, after the first 10 minutes or so, its the story and great controls that move the game along for me and make me want to play more.
And if the controls are that bad or the story is that boring, it's hard for me to keep going, no matter how goo...
I really hope the Wii remote has more impact on the future than Xbox Live.
Xbox live lets people play games online, for a price. There's a lot of other stuff, I know, but, personally, when I buy a game console, I don't do it to download movies. What Xbox live brings to me, as a gamer, is a subscription fee.
Wii remotes let people get more into the game. It's a step toward virtual reality. It's still far from it, of course, but its a step in that direction.

I'm sure by now you have me ignored, but I just have this urge to say something when I see you post, something that just shows how bad it is that you say what you do, so here it is.
Not every company is in business to lose money. It seems Sony is the only company in the world that strives for that, though, eh?
Seriously...
Graphics don't make a game hardcore. Play NES Zelda, yeah, the first one. Beat it and tell me its not hardcore. Beat the hard mode and dare tell me its anything but hardcore, and its graphics are terrible. It's still a hardcore game, though, even by today's standards.
The Wii is bad for the graphics whores, not for the hardcore gamer. It's very good for the hardcore gamer, in fact, looking at the games comming up and dreaming of all the ways the...
There's a reason the price for everything ends in 99 cents. $199.99 looks much cheaper than $200.
That being said, 7.5 is a forgettable score. 5 should be average, since its right in the middle, but its not for some reason. 7 is, for the most part, average, and not a score anyone stives for. 7.5 isn't bad, but its not great.
7-8, as good as it should be, pretty much means avoid it unless you like this genre. 7.5 (or .9) isn't a bad score, but it just doesn't...
DVD
smaller, much better quality, very very little loss of data over time, ability for extra features
VHS
larger, quality dependant on multiple factors but generally much worse, loss of data over time, no ability for extra features
Now compare this to bluray or HD DVD. They're the same size as DVDs, so there is no benefit in storage. Quality is better, but its not near the upgrade you saw from VHS to DVD. DVD's last long enough th...
I hope you do realize that most people who will be buying HD DVD/bluray in 2009 (and I've said for a while, that is when the war will end) will not be buying a gaming console. It will be a standalone bluray player or a standalong HD DVD player, not a 360 with HD DVD add on or PS3.
In fact, that's why its quite likely HD DVD will win, then. When people upgrade their old analog TVs to digital, most likely snagging an HD TV, the salesperson is going to say "how would you li...
I don't think Nintendo is going to start taking shots. That's not the kind of company they are. They simply say they've gone a different direction, and saying that its unlikely that they will add other features to their consoles shows they're sticking to their guns.
To be honest, I'm really happy about that, too, because I'm with Nintendo, it just works better when you work on gaming, not the extra stuff.
$599USD.com is a satire site isn't it?
I know its not 100% pro Sony, anyway, after reading an article on there about everyone joining together with the PS3 to kill casual gaming. It was pretty funny.
Luigi will certainly be in it. Captain Falcon will, too, because we have seen connections to F-Zero, though I think that Black Shadow might be along this time too, even! Ice Climbers is classic and will be back, I'm sure, as well, and Mewtwo should join the other pokemon.
It wouldn't suprize me to see some of the clones dropped, though. Dr. Mario, Pichu, Fox, and Young Link all offered mostly the same playing experiance as Mario, Pikachu, Fox, and Link, but Falco could be ch...
Most people from the western hemisphere will think of Brave New World when they say Soma. This could be it, but I doubt it. In India, it was a drink/plant, but there's not much evidence that it was actualy hallucinagenic. This could be what it is, but it seems a bit obscure.
However, in Hindusim, Soma is the god with ties to the moon and the underword, I believe. I think he doubled as a tasty drink for the gods, as well. I think this is the best bet.
No matt...
And Monkey Ball is so easy when you're drunk, right? I'm sure that actually made for some very funny moments.
I think we'll see more 3rd party games when more 3rd parties actually try with the Wii. Right now, Nintendo is showing them how to do it, but, come next year, we should see more 3rd paries there as they see how to succeed on the Wii.
YOu're forgetting that most people think Wii is for casual gamers, while MP3 is a hardcore game.
The simple fact that in one week it sold to 11% of Americans with Wiis should show that the Wii is not just a casual system.
I've seen more commercials for Bioshock than for MP3 (I've only seen one for MP3, and about 20 for Bioshock), and I had to remind a few friends that it was out.
It's the same as bluray vs HD DVD and PS3 vs 360.
These problems, the format war, all of that, it has nothing at all to do with the consoles, but fanboys like to think a strike against the company is a strike against the console.
Who knew the BBC could be so funny?
Not only were so many Mega Man tunes so memorable, they REALLY set the stage well.
The Mega Man X Collection should have been #1. Not only were most of the tunes memorable, but they were varied, and no game, ever, has set the mood for stages quite as well.
None of that happy-go-lucky music that's in games right now.
Dang it, right now, the music from when you fight Dynamo in MMX5 is stuck in my head now!
