"I think it's irresponsible for Wii to come out with a controller that looks like a gun so kids can play games simulating shooting. What kind of message are we sending as parents when we buy these things for our kids?"
This person crashed into a wall of idiocy right away but managed to take one last breath to almost make someone out there respect her.
It is irresponsable for Nintendo to release these things because of the message you send your kids when...
Infinate holds are gone I hope. Ice Climbers was so cheap due to that...online would be no fun with cheapness like that.
Often as we grow older we let go of things that are childish, and what we mostly let go of is the need not to feel childish. It seems to me most 16-21 year old males need to be seen as "manly" and want to get the biggest baddest thing they can, which, in consoles, is a 360.
It often strays out of that age range, but, generally, as we're younger, we don't care about what others think, because we're ignorant of how others see us. As we get older, we let go of needing ...
Last year was my last one in college, but the Wii was very popular there, and the GC was the system to have before that. The Xbox/360 got some play time, but not nearly as much by most people, and this is within their target demographic!
However, I only own a Wii, as I can't afford multiple consoles. However, you can count me among the dorks and nerds as well. Heck, who, that's not a geek, spends so much on new technologies? No one here can claim not to be "uncool"...
When your console is targeting teens and people in the lower 20's, high school thinking works well.
Do you really know that many people that are no longer in school that really enjoy the 360? The types of games are targeting the high school/college crowd, so the kind of high school thinking ("its cool or I don't like it") is actually somewhat important for the 360.
After all, you don't get popular by inviting your friends over for a few hours of solvin...
If you really want the money to do the talking, it has been for quite some time, and it says Nintendo is the only cool kid on the block. The DS is by far the best money grabber right now, and its big brother Wii isn't doing too badly either.
Though, while we talk about Halo, who thinks Nintendo will release Nintendogs 2 soon, since Halo 3 will push the Halo franchise over the sales of Nintendogs. Oh, wait, there I go letting the money talk again, saying Nintendogs has sold mo...
How could anyone ever want a console that doesn't have you killing half the population of the world on every game!?
Oh, that's right, the Wii is more fun than that.
I actually think more people would want a console that appeals to everyone than would want a console that appeals to only one small group. Everyone is a much larger group than one small group...in fact, I rest my case.
@purin
You're very right. I'd bet Nintendo is very ...
What's a bluray exclusive one place isn't a bluray exclusive all over the world. I don't know which movies are distributed by who everywhere, but say in Australia, the company distributing Disney movies is neutral. As an American, and Disney movies here being bluray exclusive, I can get Pirates 3 from Australia on HD DVD because its not region coded.
Obviously, bluray let the exclusive slip though the cracks and become mine on HD DVD, and, thus, lost an exclusive.

Saying there will be no more hardcore games because of the success of the Wii is like saying there will be no more action movies because of the success of LotR. It just doesn't work like that.
Of course, games have been getting easier for a long time. Play Fight Night Round 3...ok...now, go play Punch Out!....ok...
The NES game is much harder than the PS3/360 game. Both are boxing games, but the old one is much harder. My thumbs have not had a challenge in ye...
As nice as it would be to really let the consumer decide, there are a few problems. Obviously, most studios are already exclusive one side or the other, and they will not even consider going neutral unless the SOny owned studios go neutral, and Sony wouldn't do that. Also, it seems to be WB is likely just holding out for more money. I'm sure both sides are offering some insane amount, and WB goes to the other side and says "they gave me this offer, what can you do for us now?" ...
"You cant get MGS4 on the PC"
SC2 isn't going to the PS3 either (I can't wait for SC2!) It goes both ways, you can't get some PC games on the PS3, and you can't get some PS3 games on PC. That's not a point that can really be argued.
"sorry pal, the point is that developers have not mastered or extracted all the power of the PS3, lets remember it took about a year for Xbox 360 to come with something really worth it like Gears!"
...
It's good to see someone admit when they're wrong, not just making up excuses.
However, I don't see why so many people thought the Wii would fail because it's the weakest. The PS2 was the weakest last gen. The DS is weaker than the PSP, and the Gameboy was weaker than the Game Gear. Weaker systems often win out, in fact.
So few developers were on the bandwagon at the start, just like with the DS and PS2, actually, that its suffering a bit of a drought, or had been.
If you can look at the games comming up in the next few months, you have everything from racing (Mario to Indy), to adventure, to fighting, to FPS, to platform games, if you can seriously look at everything that's comming and don't find yourself interested in any of it, you're just not a gamer.
And now that developers ...
That's probably not good for your console gaming future. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you actually play good games and gave them a chance.
But Nintendo gave us the D pad on the NES, and they said it was a fad, and the joystick would be back soon enough. And Nintendo gave us the modern analog stick, and some people (myself among them) didn't find that attractive (oh the blisters I got from that thing). Now Nintendo has given us motion controls.
...
Yes, neutral for now...until the final offers are in. You can bet your bottom dollar that both camps are offering WB huges amounts of cash to go exclusive. As it stands, we pretty much have a stalemate (edge to HD DVD due to cost), and anyone who gets Warner as an exclusive studio wins.
I don't see why people are so big on the sale trends outside of their country, either. Bluray is region locked. I don't care how bluray is selling in Japan, because that's no my region. If ...
I wonder how some dumb people like the PS3 fanboys can be happy when one company forces others to buy only bluray discs (much more expensive players and upgrades for studios).
You lost me on the rest of it. I don't see how we would have to pay $150 million more for the cheaper format.
You also seem to think that HD DVD is the only camp that's making deals, or, as bluray fanboys call it, bribes. Don't forget that we know, for a fact, that bluray "bribed&quo...
Super Paper Mario, MP3, Zelda, and more depending on your tastes, but I assume you want hardcore games, and those keep you busy for a while anyway (and if you have a Wii, you can't go long without revisiting Wii Sports or Elebits anyway).
Upcomming games include Mario Galxy, SSBB, No More Heroes, Bleach, Ghost Squad, Mario Kart, Zack & Wiki, Endless Ocean, Trauma Center: New Blood, Battalion Wars 2, Manhunt 2, Fire Emblem, Nights, RE: Umbrella Chronicals, FF: Crystal Chroni...
It doesn't takes 6 years to make a good, enjoyable game.
I think its amazing that he thinks all PS3 owners and potential buyers are so into graphics that its all they care about. That's certainly not what sold the PS2!
If I really only care about graphics, I'll get a PC that's all souped up for games. The 360 beats out the PS3 for multiplayer, and the Wii beats it out in solid games.
Worse, Sony has said one game (Heavenly Sword, I believe) has m...
I was going to forget about this game. It didn't look like the type of game I would like.
However, good reviews will always get my attention, and I'll look at a game a little harder if it scores well, a lot, and this game has gotten at least a couple of good reviews.
I might have to at least rent it and see if I like it. This one could be a real sleeper, since its not been hyped at all, but it is getting at least a couple of scores that compare to some major hi...
I agree that is interesting. I think it shows how EA is shooting themselves in the foot with their advertising. Unless you went out and looked, you wouldn't know Madden was on any other console than the 360.
I also think its interesting that so many 360 owners are buying a casual game. Most people here say the 360 is a hardcore system, but sports games sell like crazy on it, and sports games are anything but hardcore.
I wonder if we'll see EA changing their st...
