Very nice. It's hard to see with the naked eye, but with those lines, it becomes clear that there is a very slight upward trend, overall, in HD DVD sales.

"The death of both blu ray and hd-dvd is not any good for gamers or consumers in general. DVD is not going to cut it for the next few years so we need a winner to emerge"

According to Sony, some games/movies have already pushed bluray near or right to its limit.

If that is true, we need both of the formats to die, because, even by the words of a major bluray supporter, it is not enough.

I don't think its much of a loss, really.

MMOs on PC are for me. I'll never have one for a console, and if this takes away development time from a genre I wouldn't want on my Wii, anyway, and pushes it to something I might want, I'd say that's good for me. Other Wii owners might not like it, but to each his own.

"Because you are basically saying that video games do not elicit violent behaviors, yet you educate parents that violent video games are not appropriate for their children."

Surely we can agree that a rap song that drops the F-bomb 100 times in 3 minutes doesn't elicit sexual or violent behavior (as much as I would like to say it does and get it banned...) but it is not appropriate for children, either. It's not in conflict at all to say something violent or sexual i...

The support for bluray is one reason I dislike it.

It's not in my best interest to buy a $450 HD player when there is a $200 comming out for the holidays (and some say Walmart will be selling it for $150). I don't care that it looks cheap, just that it plays movies.

I will certainly not be forced to buy a format at a high price when there is one just as good for half the price, just because some corperations back the high priced ones.

If everyone ...

FF6 was the best, one of the best games ever.

However, I don't really want to see remakes. Final Fantasy always did have good graphics for the time, but it was never about graphics. FF6, FF7, FF3 (another gem), none of them need to be remade, because you can play them, bad graphics as they may be, now, and still enjoy them to their fullest.

I would rather see development on a new game than an update on graphics for a game that doesn't need them.

This game is beautiful. It's not the most realistic looking game, but its certainly prettier than they are.

I'm not sure why Mario needs 60 frams per second, but, heck, at least it shows off the Wii's power a bit.

Yes, if the Wii was the same price as the PS3, the PS3 would dominate.

If they Wii had HD and graphics as good as the PS3, Nintendo wouldn't be able to pump out enough Wiis to meet demand before the PS3 died, either.

So its usless to say the Wii wouldn't sell at the same price as the PS3 (though ebay shows the Wii will sell even if more expensive than the 360), because I can just come up with a situaion that would cause the Wii to dominate the PS3 more than it al...

There's, what? 4.5 million Wii consoles in NA?

In the first week, and not the whole week, 300k games sold accounts for 15% of Wii owners.

Getting your game to 15% of people who have your console in the first week is better than most games do in their life (at the end of the day, PS2 has never done it yet, and, most likely, never will.)

The only thing for MP3 is that its not so popular outside of America. Still, its well on its way to becoming a m...

"Actually, you spent the whole time talking about how 'insanely expensive' the PS3 is when the 360 technically costs more over its lifespan."

Notice I said I wouldn't be more likely to get one if it served me breakfast in bed, too. You act like I think the 360 is much better as far as pricing goes.

"Wait, $400 more than what exactly?"

$500 is not being made, and is just a fire sale in America. It's really $350 more than the Wi...

Its rather ironic that a child calls others "kids." When I buy a gaming console, I care about one thing, the games, and I'm 21, thank you. What the console can do doesn't matter to me, besides playing games. The 360 could serve me breakfast in bed every morning, and that wouldn't make me any more likely to buy it as my games console.

You seem to fail to understand, adults have jobs that pay them some money, and from that money, they need to have a budget. For many...

That doesn't change the fact that the Wii is still outselling the PS3 3:1, which is still huge, and would be larger, but the Wiis are still sold out everywhere last I've heard.

You also can't really judge by the sales thus far. The 360 and PS2 started of somewhat the same as well (if you compare on vgchartz, you find all 3 very nearly overlap for about a year), but the 360 has taken a very different turn, and I don't see the PS3 following in the footsteps of the PS2, with its ...

Yes, News 4 GAMERS is competing products, namely, game consoles.

He has a good point, why is everyone all over the format war? It has nothing at all to do with gaming.

Shame on everyone who gets sucked into these, me included.

Edit: And to the below comment

Yes, its true. I've been called a 360 fanboy for saying some things against bluray, which, really, has made me much less impartial, as the Sony fanboys seem to be the first to ...

Toronto, I don't see as a city not on the "world map."

However, while it is the 5th largest city in NA, its no where near the 6th largest in the world! Most of the 50 largest cities in the world are in Asia, but it does make the top 50...bearly, at 49.

And, finally, no one cares about any film festival, anywhere, at any time, Toronto's isn't the only one that's ignored :P

I really don't think I would even want something like this. Games should have something to do with reflexes, and the brain reacts to things before we can (after all, it takes much longer to move your arm/thumb than for your brain to recieve a signal).

The time it takes for you to tell yourself what to do in response to a signal on the screen is huge, and differs person to person. That's where the fun of games is. In its most advanced form, this would be like thinking of wher...

That's exactly it, but you fail to mention that its because of a going-out-of-business sale, and since the bluray standalones sold less, there were more for the business to clear out.

Really, I do want to see the actual numbers of which Sony speaks. For all we know, they're saying a certain percentage of PS3's sold are being sold only for bluray, and count them as standalone players ("we think 5% of PS3's sold are used only for bluray movies, so counting them among standa...

I actually found it depended a lot on a few things. In Baby Park (I think that was the name), Bowser pretty much ruled everyone, and on DK Mountain, DK's huge banana was a huge pain down the mountain.

On any track without much railing, Baby Mario/Luigi ruled, with their chain chomp being like a star, but without the ability to fall off.

I was always somewhat partial to Yoshi and Peach as a combo, though, since Peach had a special to protect you, and Yoshi basicl...

How is Paramount making less when you're going to get it on DVD and a HD format when you change to HD DVD or Paramount goes back to bluray?

By my math, you're buying their movie twice, as compared to once if they didn't go HD DVD exclusive. So much for the idea that Paramound would lose money on this. It seems all the bluray people are intent on rewarding them by buying the movies twice.

My list, just top 5, and I'm going to balance good and memorable.

5. Fire Emblem (GBA)

The music in this game is varied and manages to set the mood well when most characters enter. It encourages the player to feel for the characters when something happens, and it rarely gets annoying unless you're trying to abuse an arena. Personally, I found myself playing though the game multiple times after I won with every character on every difficulty, just to unlock some ...
