Don't forget the rootkits, but Sony's stance is that if we don't know about it, we shouldn't care about it.

Nintendo is more about the fun than any company out there. No one gives us games that are more enjoyable.

If you want to talk about just profits, look at Sony, who is trying to win a format war with their loyal followers as their tools. You do know why bluray is in Playstation 3.0, right?

Also, just so you know, Smash is no more 3D now than ever. You'll still only be able to move in 2D (except for dodging or flying up too far, I assume).

Games a...

The 360 has been out a year longer and is mostly for those who like shooting and racing games. So long as you like then, the 360 has a lot of options.

As for you, as a Sony "fangod," I guess you have 2 options to play good games. Get a 360, or get a Wii.

I seem to be becoming spiteful when it comes to replaying to obvious fanboyism.

Really? That explains a lot, actually.

Nexgenwars and vgchartz...geez. Well, guess I'll scan my computer again.

Edit: Scan turned up nothing this time. I am getting viruses from somewhere, but its not vgchartz, it seems.

Why would we compare a single player game that is about the story and exploration with a multiplayer game that is all about online?

You remind me of the article that said a 3rd person shooter was the best FPS of the year, comparing things that are different in basic ways. Who cares if they both have guns?

I don't mind advertising that looks like it should be there. Ads in some games just fit. I wouldn't mind slightly more obvious advertising if it took the price of a game down, as it should.

It should.

But let's face it, companies want to make as much money as possible. If you're going to go buy a game for $60, you will even if it has some obvious advertising in it, most likely, so they'll sell it for the same price and get the money for putting the ad into the...

So they sold a game to about 4% of everyone who has a Wii in a SINGLE week in a SINGLE country and that's bad? There are actually about 4.4 million Wiis in America, so 400k MP3's sold is about 11% of the people who own a Wii! They sold to 11% of people who might buy it in a week, and its bad?

The most popular game for the PS2 was GTA: San Andres, which sold 14.9 million copies, this to an instal base of 115 million? That's 13% of people bought it, the most popular PS2 game. ...

Sony is doing this gen what Nintendo did last gen, getting into a graphics arms race. The PS2 was the weakest console last gen, but it won anyway, with good games, good gameplay, and good 3rd party support.

The PS3 is the strongest console this gen, but it's losing because it has poor games, weak motion sensing as an add on after Sony saw where Nintendo was going, and is driving 3rd parties away with the cost and effort it takes to develop games for their system.

Some day in the distant future, an article is titled "Wii becomes second best selling console of all time." The article tells of how the Wii is second only to the DS now in total sales, finally passing the PS2's mark.

You'll say "that doesn't count, because the Wii is this gen, and the PS2 was last gen."

I seriously want to know what people think makes a console "next gen." Some say graphics, but there are multiple times graphics g...

It all depends on the games and the gamers.

Mario Bros. was the best selling game of all time, when Mario was new. The first Pokemon games are right behind it, so it passes all sequals in any franchise as well. Heck, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl may very well not overshadow Nintendogs.

On the other hand, Halo 2 outsold Goldeneye, and DKC2 beat out the first RE.

New IPs offer something new, while we know what to expect from old ones. The reason new ...

Translation: "No one is willing to upgrade their PC to play Civilization, again, after they did it for Civ IV."

Really, I do think its time for some strategy games for consoles, but I don't think its that console gamers need these strategy games, because most console gamers are PC gamers too, if to a lesser extent. I think its time strategy games went to the consoles, where they can just be themselves, and we don't have to worry about system requirements on Civilizat...

I don't play online too terribly much, but I do play SC and WC3. Even if these were on a console, and even if it was the Wii (free online, wiimote can move as fast as my hand, like a mouse), I'd rather play them on my PC. Why? Because I know more people are on the PC. If I though more people were playing on the console, I would get used to it there (another problem, its different and takes getting used to), I'd be on the console.

The simple fact of the matter is that if the...

Sonic Riders was a decent game to play for a while, but nothing more than a retal, really. I don't think I'll be buying this, either, but I enjoyed the shortcut hunting and perfecting enough in the first one, and I have enough faith in Sega to make the gravity thing work out, that I think this is a rental, too.

I'm not so sure this will be as good as the original, though...because the whole changing gravity thing seems even more weird than throwing shells at other people in Ma...

Maybe people assume you are part of the disagrees against anything anti-Sony or pro-MS anyway? Maybe people think you're one of the group that approves news like PS3 wins Denmark, or Woolsworth is having a sale on PS3s?

I would imagine they do, because I know I do after seeing repeated flaming by you, of anyone who doesn't have a PS3 on an alter in their home.

As for who cares about approving junk news (which I think this is ok, but there has been some stupid st...

So Halo 3, Lair, and all PS3 and 360 games can be compared to Pong as well, since they involve physics? Sorry, comparing physics on the Wii to physics in Pong is somewhat like saying you're flying a kite so high it landed on the moon.

As for Pong being the first video game, it was created in 1972. An arcade game called Computer Space was made in 1971, which was an arcade version of the real first named video game, Spacewar, in 1961! Pong came 11 years after the first video g...

This is pretty cool stuff. I had to go though a lot of biology and chemistry in college, so I find things like this amazing, but I'm not so sure it can be done in the near future. Data storage on an atom or molecule would have to be done totally without radiation of any atom, and with carbon being the big atom to make molecules, that's not easy due to Carbon-14 not exactly being rare. Naphthalocyanine was mentioned, and it has 48 carbons. If just one of those is Carbon-14, it will decay t...

I would love to see a new IP from Blizzard.

Everything they touch turns to gold, but WoW killed WC for me, though I know many more love it. I don't want them to kill SC for me too.

They should work with the guy who made DotA (on WC3) and make that a real game, all its own. Now that would be more fun than another WoW, for SC or Diablo!

It's possible, but its a while off and will not reach the point that some sort of physical media is sold in our lifetime.

I'm not buying in to all of this either, though. $100-150 is when I would consider buying something to replace my DVD player, and only if there is a clear winner. I think HD DVD is looking good right now, but even if Walmart is selling $150 HD DVD players, I'm not going to buy one yet, because that's a lot of money to risk on a format that may or may not b...

"The majority of Hollywood studios have chosen Blu-ray not because we have asked them to - we let them make up their own mind. They choose Blu-ray because it is the superior format"

If this is true, those studios need to answer to some people. Why do they forgo profits to make movies for only 1 HD format?

Surely, HD DVD is superior to DVD, so, if this is true, should Sony only be making movies for bluray, as well as Disney, Fox, and the other Bluray ex...
