This is interesting, but you have to think about who is going onto message boards and talking about consoles.

Mostly the Casual gamers from each camp won't be on the internet talking about their console. That 60% of PS3 owners that don't know about bluray, you won't find them in the pile of messages they collected. The Wii owner that just has Wii Sports and Big Brain Acadamy, he's not there either.

Now, then, what I think I can draw from this after thinking abo...

I've known this for a while. Every time someone posts a link to it for the "real" (360 slanted) numbers, I always reply saying I don't trust numbers from a malware site.

After I found out, I found 5 trojans on my computer, and its a small list of sites I go to.

Since I stopped going there, no problems.

I've seena lot of people wanting extreme punishment for Vick for this, and I don't get it, myself.

It seems people get more upset and want harsher pentalties for this than murder (of humans), rape, child abuse, and every other crime.

What Vick did was terrible, sure, but I can name worse crimes that people don't even go to jail for life for, let alone getting death for it!

Metriod works best as a single player game, I think.

The change to 3D was major for it, and that wasn't so long ago, in number of games.

However, when it comes down to it, I think we all know Nintendo will do something amazing with it, and probably something none of us see comming.

"and keep in mind bluray camp havent even offered or tried to pribe the comp for thier support because they know they dont need to waste the money"

Target made a "deal" with bluray to sell only stand along bluray players, not HD DVD players.

Then again, I guess some people from the bluray camp sat down with some people from Target and begged them to lose some profits from selling standalone bluray players for nothing in return until they did i...

You are right, but, like it or not, no matter what anyone says, all exclusive studios have gotten some money for being exclusive. The thing is that the money paid makes up for selling on 33% or 67% of being neutral, and both HD formats together sell such a small amount, it only takes a few million to make it profitable for a studio to go one way or the other.

It's really unfortunate any studios went exclusive for the consumer, because to see all the movies comming out in HD, i...

HD DVD could be around for a long time anyway due to there being no region lock on it, and some American bluray exclusives being on HD DVD in other places. This is comming to light, for most, just recently, so its possible for bluray to lose more steam if Warner were to go exclusive now than it would have otherwise.

Neither format is going down without a fight, but it just keeps looking worse and worse for bluray, but at one point, that is how it was for HD DVD, too.

I'm guessing $20 won't be too much for it, but I wouldn't expect more than Wii play, mostly an introduction in how to use what you're getting.

I would much rather see it with some other games, as well, though, Ghost Squad among them.

I think they just aren't as hardcore as they claim. Any blind fanboyism should be a sign that the person isn't a hardcore gamer. I don't have a PS3 or 360 (I do play them, sometimes, but my friends would rather come over and play the Wii than me go to them and play the PS3/360), but I don't have them because of the lack of games I'm interested in, and the price.

The 360 has a lot of games, but few interest me. The PS3 needs to drop...a lot, before I consider getting it no ma...

Sony said bluray has been pushed to its limits already, so why should I listen to Blu-ray Revolution.co.uk.'s ad? Evidently if something can't be done on HD DVD or is using all of a bluray disc, its already nearly obsolete, and there are many claims of movies and games that can't be done on HD DVD but can on bluray. I think Sony knows more about their system than that website.

I give the ad credit for this much, at least, though. They never mention HD DVD, they just talk abo...

People are saying the Wii is dieing...so are the other consoles already dead...except the DS, of course. After a huge drop in sales, because of Wiis comming to America, not Japan, Nintedo still can't seem to meet demand in either area, and is still doubling the PS3 sales, which are limited by demand (and the product limited by supply has a better outlook long term).

You can't very well take a snapshot of one section of the world and say a console is dieing without considering ...

The attach rate for the Wii is 4-4.5.

I give a range because the numbers involve the number of games sales from Wikipedia and hardware sales from vgchartz. Neither is 100% reliable, and the Wikipedia information is from months ago, while the vgchartz estimate is up to date.

I know most people think vgchartz overestimates the Wii, so if you are among them, you may think the attach rate is closer to 5.

That's right in the area it should be, though. ...

Bluray was always the winner?

I'll make sure to spread the word that in betamax vs VHS, both lost, and bluray won.

Bluray hasn't won anything, and it may never. If it does, it wasn't always a dominate format, because, and I know this may come as a shock to you, it didn't always exist!

Both formats are far from winning as it stands right now.

Wow, you already got a lot of disagrees, and considering this is just in PS3 and industry section, it should have mostly PS3 fans.

I guess they would know better that its not supposed to be a fun games system first better than anyone, though.

Old games were harder. I think a lot of people like that level of difficulty because when they finish a game, it really means something.

Compare a series that started on the NES to how hard the games are now. Mega Man, Final Fantasy, many many games that started out up to 20 years ago and we see sequals are similar games from the same developers today, the old games were hard!

Well, I'll still be waiting for something new from the 360 and PS3. So far, nothing I think I'll be interested in has been annouced that is also new (I'll give credit to Little Big Planet, but I don't think it will be that interesting to me),so I'm wondering when we'll see something new.

Shooter...shooter....shooter. ..oh, there's a racing game! RPG....shooter...racing....sho oter...

I think Perry needs to tell us what he considers new, because if he has super ...

HD DVD doesn't affect the 360.

If HD DVD wins, it doesn't mean the billions of movie watchers will be getting a 360, and if Bluray wins, the same can be said for the PS3.

"How would you like it if "America Commanded" that from now on we [the Congress] will only back Blu-Ray as the standard format acceptable in these United States? Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? That's because it is."

As crazy as saying we all have to have digital TV in 2009 when millions of people still watch from analog sets, but they would never...oh, wait, they are doing that.

America is much more free, but make no mistake, American governmen...

Yeah, because secret confrences are always all about drawing as much attention as possible.

I doubt this is true, and if it is, it's not to draw attention away from Sony, otherwise it wouldn't have been meant to be a secret now, would it?

The funny thing is, one person, so far, has agreed with you that MS is holding a secret conferance to draw attention. Kinda ruins the secret, in my opinion.

Nintendo doesn't stop anyone from making good games for their systems...anymore. Nintendo likes to have the best games, of course. Ubi would like the best games too. So would Capcom. So would...well, every single developer would like to have the best games on the consoles they develop for.

Surely you can't say that, for instance, MP3 is better than RE4 because MP3 is Nintendo's game. There's a reason Nintendo games do so well, and that's because so much time and effort is ...
