Proper english is nice, but News 4 Gamers would imply news broguht to you by four gamers, too...
Proper english would be News for Gamers. nforg.com wouldn't look too good, though, I suppose.
The Wii looks fine on my HDTV. Also, I have a TV that can accept digital signals and isn't HD, and, what's more, you can still get them like that. Digital does not equal HD! I also find it astounding that you found out that everyone lives in America (2009 is the cutoff date in America). May I please see a source that says the entire world lives in a single country?
That being said, I think its a grudge match between MS and Sony to see which console can last longer, while Ni...
The console war doesn't end at the end of the gen, though. It ends when it becomes clear who is selling the most month after month. It is still too soon to tell, but after the holidays, it may not be too soon. More console sold means more games which means more consoles are sold. If the PS3 makes a strong push, it's very possible it comes in first or second. If the Wii stays sold out, its unlikely either console will overtake it. If the 360 picks up in sales, it may end up on top. This...
It's amazing people are disagreeing with you when you show some simple math.
Even if people disagree with the numbers for sales, we know its close to a 6 million difference.
Have some bubbles for having a grasp on 3rd grade math, which is more than we can say for most people on either side of the fence.
"The wii is only comparable with the PS2 now."
It's about time you started talking some sense. I agree, the Wii has all the same marks, and a few more, that made the PS2 a huge success. It's certainly on track to be comparable with the PS2, right now, and it's showing no signs of slowing down.
Yes, a gimmick, just like the D pad when it was on the NES and people were saying it would never work and the joystick is better. Just like the modern analog stick on the N64 that people hated for its blister giving abilities.
We know how quick those gimmicks died out.
You're right that the Wii can go for more on ebay because its hard to find int a store, but what does that tell us about the price that supply and demand meet for the Wii?
Shortages show that the Wii is under the price at which people will buy it, and ebay shows us exactly how much people are willing to pay. Even if you go by the store price of the 360 and PS3, the Wii sells on ebay in the same price range, and it shows people are willing to pay about as much for a Wii as for ...
Its funny a PS3 fanboy says the Wii lacks games.
It has more must-haves now than the PS3 has annouced! It also has a monstrously good lineup.
If most studios go duel format, the one format that costs more will lose. Bluray costs more for the player and for the upgrades to make the movies, so it would likely die out.
The only way for both formats to coexist would be for some studios to stay exclusive to each, with enough movies on each side that they both matter.
Even if the player prices are the same at some point, and, therefore, we can predict that both will sell at an even rate, its more expensive ...
This is the site that reported that a Wii with bluray was comming, and sited an insider as the source of the information.
Later they realized it was fake and also cited sarcasticgamer.com as their source (when they were reporting it as real news, they didn't give another source).
Sony needs rumble, but I'll believe it when I see it, not when the people who said Wii is going to have bluray say it.
A business can deny service for any reason or no reason at all. Honestly, I wouldn't want to sell video games to kids at all, no matter their grades, because, legally, they can return the game for a full refund (minors cannot be held to a contract unless it involves something required to live, such as food).
This is no different, really, than most movie theatres not allowing people under 18 to see movies that are rated R, which is a common practice of denying service to a grou...
Because I can get an HD DVD when I get the Matrix and a PS2 and a Wii for less than I can get the PS3? My good old VCR works just fine for recording things, too.
Maybe if I didn't have any part of an entertainment center, it would look more attractive, but when the PS3 is redundant on everything except for the games, it loses its value.
I thought his idea was a great one, and I hope it gets adopted in more places than just his little store.
It's really too bad that he's been suspended. It makes it look like GameStop is more interested in profits than children's futures.
Sony has good reason to stay exclusive. The format war is easily worth a few billion dollars to them.
However, its foolish to believe Fox and Disney will stay exclusive without getting paid (and it is foolish to believe they haven't already been paid). $175 million isn't too much for bluray or HD DVD to pay, though, and when looking at that number, we have to keep in mind that it's consumer spending, not profit, which is lower than that for the studios.
Somethi...
I believe he's said that the Wii is in compitition with every other form of entertainment out there. Heck, I believe even newspapers was on the list.
Maybe it was someone else, though.
You get this feeling from Nintendo, though, that they are trying to compete with every other form of entertainment that is accepted for everyone, but at the same time, are trying to avoid clashing with anyone by staying in their own world.
What kind of game do you like that's not comming to the Wii?
Racing, platform, sports, shooting, RPG, fighting, basicly every genre of game ever made, and a few that haven't been made yet, are comming to the Wii within a year.
The 360 and PS3 are the consoles less likely to be someone's cup of tea. One has mostly shooters, and the other has a lot of extras that make it too expensive if you don't need them.
I'm sure Nintendo wouldn't let Sega put Mario in it unless it met some standard. Mario has been in some bad games, but never because no one tried to make it good.
I always felt like Wii Sports was a way to get used to using the controller, not really a game in and of itself.
Other games have improved on almost every sport in Wii sports, and with good reason. Wii sports crams 5 games and some extras onto it, while a dedicated sports game only has that one sport and some extras.
If a sequal could help, it wouldn't help much. It would give people a full collection of sports, on 2 games, maybe, but they wouldn't be as in dep...
If Sony or MS followed the Nintendo model, you would be spending a whole heck of a lot less dimes than you are now.
The Nintendo model says make a console as cheap as possible so as many people as possible can enjoy it.
You can't very well attack the games, for a Nintendo console, because that's in no way part of their console business model (selling them for profit). The only thing you could say is that if the PS3 had Wii graphics, but the same games it has now...
"How long ago did vhs fully disapear, about 2 years ago? yet Sony is trying to get everyone to change from DVD to bluray, correct?"
It would be best to go from the start of DVD to the start of bluray, so about 10 years. In my house, VHS still hasn't disappeared...
"how often do you replace your mobile/cell phone?"
I replaced mine earlier this year after about 7 years, because they stopped making a part for it that stopped work...
