They should at least make a note of PS3 being a bluray player and mentioning sales.
However, I've never seen anyone have a problem with a bluray article counting PS3s and not telling that a poll showed that only 20% of PS3 owners know and use the capability as a bluray player.
One side is as bad as the other.
I doubt it, with the special Halo 360.
Thankfully, it won't indicate a long term trend, though, and very few people will make the jump from making pointless minigame collections no one buys for the Wii to making pointless FPS no one buys for the 360.
Nintendo can't send enough Wiis to compete with the increase of 360 sales between the Halo fans that hadn't gotten one that will this month and the Halo fans getting another 360 just because there's a 360 with the Ha...
Halo 3 should sell 7-10 million (the franchise has sold 15 million, so 7.5 million per game), with Halo 2 selling more than the origional).
That's a system seller. However, if it does reach 10 million, it will be big news.
If Mario Galazy or Brawl ends up reaching 10 million, no one will blink.
Halo has done well historicly, but Nintendo has its share of heavy hitters, as well.
However, we have to be careful what we draw from 360 sa...
One thing the Wii can do that the 360 and PS3 can't, act like it has a mouse.
I would agree, though, that the Wii is the only console to play FPS on (and I'm not even a big FPS fan) thanks to the controller.
It's impossible to play with 2 control sticks (its inferior, for those of you that refuse to try the Wii) after you play on the Wii.
Which brings up a good point. I agree with Keizka, too...I want to know how it would be less next gen if it co...
"Reading these responses is exactly what the guy is talking about. Obviously the Wii is perfect in every possible way."
The responses about how Perry says stupid things? The guy talks about stuff, but no one really listens because he says some stupid things, and he changes other things. For instance, he said everyone would drop their Wii controllers when we saw new games and listed a bunch of generic FPS. I haven't dropped mine, yet, and many others haven't, either...
It's like listening to Madden call a football game, the times have just passed them both by.
It's funny that if anyone buys a Wii, they'll never play any PS3 or 360 games, but when you get a PS3, you're not limited to it alone.
Nintendo never made me sign a contract that I can't get another console, if I want, and if I have the money and another console has any games I'm interested in, I might get another one.
I'm stopped from playing Haze just as much as you're stopped from ever playing Halo 3.
The difference, it seems, is that you want t...
Who said anything about attach rate?
If you have a game that everyone wants, and you make it for a single console, you stand to sell more on the Wii or the 360, end of story.
Talk about attach rates all you want (dismal for the PS3, actually, decent for the Wii, very very high for the 360), but that doesn't change the fact that the PS3 has less potential buyers for a game, and, therefore, fewer sales.
In fact, if we take attach rate into considerat...
Halo 3 will NOT win the console war alone. FF13 is more likely to win it for the ailing PS3 than the close 2nd 360.
The fight, though, is between the 360 and the Wii. Now, let's look at some numbers. The best selling franchises of all time are Nintendo's franchises. Mario is by far the most. Pokemon is second. Tetris is right up there and owes a lot of that to Nintendo. The once-every-few-years Zelda is nearly as popular as the yearly-all-platform Madden!

The battle cry was always "bluray outselling HD DVD 2:1."
Assuling that was true, and bluray is now outselling HD DVD 60:40, its now 1.5:1.
It does seem the "dead" HD DVD is making a comeback, adn, the longer this drags on, the better chance HD DVD has of winning as more people adopt an HD format that aren't loyal to the playstation brand. No one is dead, and its not close to over, but bluray needs to finish the war fast, or they will end up ...

Ok, so, Sega wants the PS3 to sell better, but the PS2, they say, they like until 2010.
It looks to me like multiplatform games from Sega will end up on the PS2, not the PS3, and, if in 2010, Sony hasn't sold enough PS3's to make Sega happy, they're sticking to the 360 and Wii.
Interesting, but good.
Games that appeal to everyone is what the Wii is all about, and diversity of games, from their source, is a great sign that it can and will happen.
Sony just needs to move 250k more consoles per month for 2 years. If Sony can only keep the Wii doubling its console sales, and Nintendo sticks to their normal 5 year life cycle and the PS3 goes 10 years, at the end of 10 years, it will match the sales of the Wii, as well (a little lower, due to some months of outselling it much more than 2:1).
So, while the first isn't going to happen, most likely, the second is an option, though Nintendo will likely dominate the PS3 again wi...
"And why, how may I ask, are M$ and $ony supposed to get the install base to PS2/XBOX levels in just 3 years?"
Sony has a good excuse. They sold 115 million PS2's, so its understandable that they will not be making that many, let alone selling that many, consoles in just 3 years.
However, it looks like the Wii may pass it and Xbox's (they were only a couple million apart last gen) total sales in just 2 years!
Sony is still selling the PS...
Big huge AAA title everyone wants on the PS3 = 4-6 mil sales (depending on your source for consoles out there).
Big huge AAA title everyone wants on the Wii or 360 = 9-11 million sales (again, depending on your source for consoles out there).
Obviously even the lowest end, at 4 million, the game does well, but it's twice as profitable to make a game for the 360 or Wii by the install base as it stands.
Halo 1 and 2 together didn't sell as much as Nintendogs.
No single games hit as hard as first party Nintendo games, like Mario or Brawl (would anyone blink if either of them sold 10 million?)
It'll take plenty of 3rd party support to beat Nintendo, but now that the Wii is top in sales, and this has been happening for months, anyway, 3rd parties are looking more seriously at the Wii and developing games for it.
Could you even convience the video game consumer that knows about horsepower that the tradeoff of all the fun Wii exclusive titles is worth the extra power?
I think sales and prices on ebay speak volumes about that.
Final Fantasy, as a whole, is fine.
They're milking of FF7, though, is a bit annoying. Let a classic be. It had good enough of a story to make up for its lackluster gameplay and became a legend. Run away with the earnings and the legacy and leave the poor game alone.
I...can't...WAIT!
The game has already been compared to Pokemon (a more deep battle system). If the battle system can compare to Pokemon, who cares about the rest of it, because it will be far past "potential."
That being said, we'll see if it can compare. all the potential in the world does no good if you drop the ball, but, that being said, I do agree, it looks like it could be good.
