I kind of agree. It isn't that they shouldn't have shown the wiiu this year in my opinion, just that they shouldn't have made it the focus at e3. An announcement and quick look would have been more than enough, seeing as how we still know so little about it anyway.
This e3 really should have been the 3ds, Nintendo wise.

My reasoning behind this is that in Japan both games were released in one bundle (Japan didn't get the first one until it came packaged with the second).

I personally find it obnoxious that the industry goes after Nintendo for not reinventing their franchises, but gives everyone else a free pass. We've had 3 zeldas spread over a larger time than 3 uncharted games, gears of war, 3...halos (reach and odst count, right?)....(?), and if I'm not mistaken god of war, all of which have been extremely similar to their predecessors.

The problem is, alot of people don't realize how flawed this review is, and very few people are willing to talk about it (a story was actually removed from the front page about this very topic that pointed out his flaws and his miserable attempt to justify them/undermine their importance). Telling zelda fans to shut up in this case dosen't make sense, because the truth has yet to be accepted by the gaming public, many of whom already have a flawed view of the game in the first place....
Gamecube was the most powerful last gen, but its power was rarely realized.
Rouge squadron had insanely beautiful graphics and lighting effects, and I believe it also ran at 60fps, or at least close to that.
There are games that could still hold their own against many modern titles, which is something you can't say about the other 2 consoles.

We had most of those series in our house last gen, but I didn't play many of them because they didn't interest me.( SoTC was interesting, but I just couldn't get through it.)
But for those without a gamecube,you missed out on games like Metroid Prime, Fire emblem, paper mario, Rouge squadron, animal crossing, pikmin, and for quite awhile others like RE4 and tales of symphonia.
And there are others I didn't own like Eternal darkness, fzero, and...
In 10 years time, maybe the wii will receive the appreciation that it rightfully deserves.
However, when it comes to games library, the gamecube has the upperhand over the wii, so it does make sense and is infact, logical.
