Nintendo hasn't been losing money at any point this gen. The closest they got to losing money was when they over forecast the 3ds sales and made less money than they thought, which is like losing money if you are a giant business, especially if you have stockholders...
Exactly.
Not a rumor, writer speculation.
From Nintendo everything:
"Yesterday we posted a rumor regarding the possible development of the 3DS Lite. There was talk that, through Nikkei Trendy, Nintendo was working on an upgrade to the 3DS.
After doing some digging, it doesn’t seem like there was a rumor at all. The statement published in Nikkei Trendy was more in line with speculation than anything else. Unlike rumors we’ve seen from them in the past, Nikkei didn’...
If this is the rumor from Nikkei trendy, then it isn't even a rumor. It was all just writer speculation.
The earthquake didn't damage production according to sony, and would have done the same to Nintendo(down the line) anyway(edit: as well).
But like I said, that was not the case.
Neither did Nintendo, and that didn't hurt them nearly as much at launch/post launch.
The "western style" launch is also another excuse (though certainly a contributing factor, just not the major one) skirting past the real problem: the psp and 3ds are better values at the moment, and neither have seen great market penetration.
Many gamers have just discovered the psp and its now massive library of games. Why pay more than necessary to play one?
And the...
If stock was a problem, then that is how everyone including sony would be reporting it. But that's not the case. Sony hasn't issued any statements about the sales, and none of the retailers or sales trackers are reporting high demand or massive sellouts leading to shortages.
And remember, the 3ds really did experience shortages and Nintendo fixed them with a quick shipment the next day or 2. You can't tell me sony hasn't done the same.
Sorry liam. Accidentally hit the disagree while scrolling.
"Slowly"?
Not if you are a Nintendo gamer...
The vita only has 1 screen. The 3ds has 2.
You may be waiting for something that won't happen. The add on isn't getting a lot of attention, and Nintendo isn't making strides to change that with it being sold through gamestop exclusively. Without it being absolutely necessary, Nintendo won't force it to be, reducing the likelihood of its inclusion in a future remodel.
The slidepad will have to be greatly accepted by gamers and devs for it to be necessary enough for inclusion in any remodels.
The 3ds received a quick shipment after launch because of shortages. How unlikely is it the vita didn't?
Because everyone owns a ds. The same cannot be said of the psp.
The 3ds was never this bad off, as it only ever had 1 competitor. The vita has 2: psp and 3ds.
Resident Evil, Bravely Default, Good people die(which is also a vita game!) Aren't mature?
And since when has color dictated maturity? Is futurama for kids? South park?
Maturity isn't about content anyway, and to think so is itself immature.
These isn't the same publication that was spreading misinformation and lies about the 3ds, was it?
If it is, then now we know why...
Tech alone has no bearing on supposed value of a games console. You need good games to play.
Please, to anyone wanting to support the vita or 3ds use tech as an example of future software only, and not as a value crutch. Games determine value, as the machines would be worthless without them regardless of power.
The vita sold just over 40,000 units last week.
I thought apple frowned upon this kind of content.
Knockoff is knockoff.
I think Wii owners may have plenty to be excited about this year, as I expect xenoblade to start a mini renaissance of games before the wiiu launches. But these games aren't something Nintendo wanted let out of the bag before they sold enough in europe, so they didn't want to talk about them at e3.
