I guess that's one way to look at it.
Probably the best way, actually.
Nintendo gets this complaint far more than it deserves.
They aren't the only ones that make the "same" game over and over.
Morgan webb is an idiot. This is the same person who said Mario galaxy was lame because it was "too kiddie", then said that she LOVED mario and luigi for BEING "kiddie".
While Directv took G4 off of their network (more or less), to be honest with the way they had been going, they just saved me the trouble of taking it of my radar.
Copyright infraction is theft of Intellectual Property. "Piracy" is theft of idea
It is theft.
Edit- That was a little sloppy. Let me clean it up.
If Piracy is Copyright infraction, then it is theft of an idea, or an IP, because that is what copyright infraction is.
Besides that, simply stating that piracy isn't theft by itself dosen't eliminate the point I am trying to make, that wealth is gained for an individual who contributed nothing bac...
I think the developers get their money when they sell the game to the store.
Your not supporting the developers, your supporting the fact that the store supports the developers.
Buying used can have the same effect, since you are telling the store "this game is interesting" by buying it at all.
Of course, the used market needs people to buy the game new before this can take place anyway.
Buying new is more important and obviously neccesary, but that d...
It really shouldn't be about potential sales, blade fist.
What should happen to a physical copy of a game that it's original buyer no longer wants? Should we just ditch it in the trash?
When some one buys a game used, they are trading welth for an item. They don't spend money, their money, their "worth" becomes that physical product. The same applies to new games as well.
When you pirate, you spend NO money, but gain a free game. You essentially ...
It's strange you think that "illegal"youth...
But you are absolutely right. Bubble +.
Exactly.
They don't need to. All games can be played without 3d. Some don't/won't have 3d at all anyway.
They are not advertising it as 2d, merely stating 3d is optional.
Nintendo isn't going the way of Sega any time soon
Magnavox may have started gaming, but what else have they done?
Nintendo saving the game industry was no fluke. They simply provided a quality product. The game crash came from crappy games and crappy systems. What Nintendo made was actually GOOD.
If it was a fluke, then how did they manage it multiple times, through over 25 years and millions (probably billions) in profits?
sony never would have had any intention of entering the gaming world at all. Nintendo worked with them on the sega cd like project, then when the deal dropped, Sony decided to finish it on their own.
As for the first half of you statment, the I can say Nintendo would have made twin joysticks if sony hadn't. The "ifs" don't matter, only what did happen. The reason Nintendo's saving of the game industry is so important is that their wasn't anyone else that WANT...
Japanese home gaming was almost non-existent before the Famicom, as the arcade was the gaming mecca of Japan.
So, in a way, by introducing a popular home console, they contributed greatly to Japans video game market as well.
If you speak your opinion honestly and without slandering others or being to hyper active, you'll be just fine.
Most people respond in a negative way to annoying attitudes more so than differing opinions.
On topic, I think Ninendo has contributed the most to gaming among the biggest companies.
Monster hunter carried the psp in japan. Imagine how many sales they could make on a system it dosen't need to carry?
It has had a rough start, but the 3ds is the ds's successor. And the ds outsold the psp by a wide margin.
If you look at it that way, it makes some sense.
Yep.
Nathan, the yen conversion is probably shown to give people an idea of what it will cost here, and not ment to be taken as a spot on price.
Also, the quotes around the memory card bit mean that Sony themselves stated that, meaning memory cards will be required if you buy a game that needs one.
They would be nickle and diming if they didn't drop the price.
And where is everyone hearing that memory cards are not mandatory? Because everywhere I saw the memory card announcement, it was stated that sony confirmed some games do not save on thier own cart and need a memory card.
Some games cannot save onto their own carts, and will require a memory card, last I heard.
So at least one memory card is "necessary" if you happen to buy one of these games.
...huh?
