LOTR on Blu is going to make me so very happy!

Sony did have a part in it, not just Warner. It was a group effort on behalf of the Blu group, but you are right Shelby it wasn't just Sony.

Rules work both way, the extreme gloaters and the sour grapes individuals. There are a lot of both on both sides. You can't say for a fact that Sony used PS3 as a Trojan horse, yes its plausible, but unless you work for Sony you really don't know that.

Wage says someone is 100% wrong then posts his opinion and says "These are almost certainly launch consoles" because his opinion has to be fact according to his posts.

I do have to agree with Wage in that the systems used could easily be older ones and don't HAVE to be new ones, though with it being GDC they would like get newer ones I would think, BUT that is just my thought and not a fact nor am I pretending it is one.

You can't compare the score for Resistance 1 (1st Gen PS3 game) and act like that is how Resistance 2 will stack up against your touted X360 games. We have to wait until Resistance 2 comes out for either side to be sure what it will do, but reviews are very very favorable from every source I have read (including "neutral" magazines). Stop assuming Resistance 2 will only score what Resistance 1 did already, its lame.

You are one of the worst about seeking out PS3 threads and spewing junk so you have no room to be pointing any fingers. Hypocrite.

As to the thread topic it technically is a Microsoft exclusive as its on PC and X360 not Mac, Linux, or PS3. Now the key here is that the "exclusiveness" was not confirmed and the story says so. I personally believe it will be exclusive but currently its not known for a fact.

I don't think they will make an X360 with it inside though. I think that would go against everything they have said to this point about the topic. I easily see them making an add-on within the next few months. I also see them finally lowering the price on the proprietary hard drives as a push for the DD option (which I think is still a long ways down the road before its mainstream) to work out any kinks in that arena.

Grats Blu even if Toshiba is still denying, of course didn'...

I agree MS didn't lose the format war, but you are insane if you think it was only so they could work on DD in the background, they have been doing that for a while now. They chose a side and by simple logic they went with the format that opposed Sony, simple business. They didn't lose the war but they did choose (at least at first since they might go with a blu add-on soon) the losing side.

DD is the future, I think most of us will agree, but the key word being future. The m...

Odds are MS and Sony will both offer up a new SKU soon. The 80Gb PS3 is near impossible to find and Best Buy, Wal Mart, and Game Stop all say its showing as discontinued. Of course when you call Sony they neither deny nor admit it, same goes with MS...and no I didn't expect either of them to tell me anything it was just for fun.

They can't do whatever they want, there are limits. Now that being said I don't think MS has reached that point yet. As to making a profit I still want to compare the amount of money they spent on the extended warranty and what that cost means to consoles sold. Personally I think they are just now actually making a profit on each unit sold. Before you go crazy on me look at the total number of Xbox360's sold versus the total money spent on extending the warranty. I don't think RROD is mu...

Microsoft cannot change the odds if they want, but I agree they have some options. The thing is Sony can match anything they throw out at this point from price cuts to software. Yes I am excited about to find out what game this is, but Microsoft is not "God".

Personally I think all three consoles have some pretty impressive games coming out this year.

6558d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

They are in the lead because they had a year with no Wii and no PS3, not because they chose HD DVD and supported it with an add on.

The biggest question I have is what price point could they seriously come up with for a Blu Ray add-on player?

6558d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Easy to swap the hard drive and unlike with another company its not that costly. Its not the PS3 and its development issues its the developers for the most part. If some games are incredible and don't require the install that alone says a lot.

You have slammed people for being mindless followers yet you are one of the worst.

Good post. I have to ask though if you weren't showing a bit of pessimism when talking about other's optimism? Your post seemed to have a bit of a pessimistic slant, though with text its hard to tell <shrug>.

These are only first gen PS3 games so who knows what they will be capable of as things progress and developers/companies learn the system better. I can't say which way it will go but when faced with the option of pessimism versus optimism I choose the positive side....

How do you know PoG??? Oh yeah you don't. You know only what the rest of us know, that they claim it, that and what is available in YOUR city is pretty much the extent to your knowledge base on the topic. I can find X360's in my city all over the place, granted only saw a few Elite SKUs, but the funny thing is you don't hear Sony saying "PS3 80Gb is suffering shortages" even though its been on the internet from Best Buy, Gamestop, and Wal-Mart that they are showing it as disconti...

So you just decided to use the word "Legions" to bypass the name calling that is against the rules in Gamer Zone....lol lame.

The 80Gb (PREMIUM) version of the PS3 is suffering shortages too. I can find Arcade X360 SKUs all over the place and 40Gb PS3's but can't find X360 Elite or PS3 80Gb here in my town in any store. The same logic can be applied in that PS3's numbers might have suffered due to lack of 80Gb in some places also (since both MS and Sony are likely about to drop a new SKU soon).

Time will tell but its lame saying it was supply issues just around the time the NPD numbers rolled out, a...

Mr. Marbles can predict the shortage is for real. First of all if it was that severe of a "real" shortage the announcement would have been all over the headlines far prior to the release of NPD figures. Second because its not found in your town Mr. Marbles and that other posters suddenly that means its not found anywhere <gasp>.

I was out tonight getting a new surge protector and found an arcade SKU of X360 at Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart, Circuit City, AND a loca...

But still find it funny how some people suddenly are wanting NPD topics swept under the carpet but for months it was the Holy Grail of information.
