Sony is not just focused on movies, lol, they have a lot of games (I am so tired of people saying PS3 doesn't have games). Look at lifetime sales of PS1 and PS2 then tell me Sony doesn't know what they are doing.

I don't think that many feel that DD will become huge, but the time it will take to reach that stage is in question. I personally don't see it happening for at least 8-10 years (by happening I mean average of 60% or greater using it worldwide). One big problem is that not every market has the same access to the speeds and won't for a while. Another, lesser problem IMO, is that some people prefer physical copies of products.

Your assumption is living in a vacuum. For you to pretend that PS3 won't drop their price when or before X360 does is insane at best. Your theory that X360 will sell by the boat load due to price drop, games, awesome online...also applies to the PS3 in price drop, games, and their online is gaining ground fast.

I agree with the majority of your post but I do think there will be a winner this generation, but by no means this year. The PS1 and PS2 have over 100 million consoles sold, it will be tougher this gen for one of the 3 (including Wii even though they are really last gen) to hit that mark but there are still a lot of gamers out there who haven't migrated yet.
Overall you are right, competition improves things across the board, though I still will root for Sony.

Its no worse than certain people throwing Gears2 around. I agree that the "one-up" thing is getting old...on BOTH sides. Comparing DMC4 (multi-plat) to a game that is exclusive wouldn't work either because an exclusive would likely have more dedicated time put into it, but yeah I agree with the main point you were aiming for. Again though, stop pretending PS3 fans are the only ones doing this.

I also still believe that if I make something on a more complex system first (PS3) then by LOGIC it would be a lot easier to put it on the less complex system (X360). If I make a game for the lesser complex system then port to the more complex system I have to almost start from scratch, its not just about "adding" things its about changing the way it does things. This would take more time than if I had just started from the complex system first which would make little business sen...

PS3 is the truck and hauls the boat just fine. X360 is the car and in order to allow it to tow the same boat that PS3 did they have to change a few things, remove some things from the boat, then it will pull it just fine.
The difference is mine matches what actual game developers are saying, that the PS3 is more powerful. Yes some say that about X360. Overall most developers are biased towards the system they prefer.

The point I was trying to make was that yes you are right but at the same time its a bigger picture. Yes some people are only buying it as a blu ray player, BUT IMO those are not gamers so they are only going to sell even more consoles.
