Saying you don't consider yourself to be an American implies that you live in America. If you don't care about the soldiers who don't get to pick and choose the wars they fight, then pack your bags. I am against this war but for you to generalize all soldiers as gung ho types who throw puppies off cliffs is simply stupid. Yes there are some but there are those who simply signed up to defend their country and got thrown into a stupid war.

VG had issues about being founded by Xfans in the beginning, so the inflating of one system and the deflating of another is not that hard to grasp. VG verified it for me with January too when compared to NPD (which while not 100% accurate either is a lot closer and less biased). They also showed it when they have the UK sales for PS3 being under when compared to the million mark Sony recently had a party about for the UK.

The X360 had over a year head start and its barely 1.2 million units ahead, this IS their strategy as you note where the price cut is occurring LaChance. Its a sound decision by MS but you act like they are miles ahead of PS3 when they really aren't.

It will help their sales but I don't think it will make a huge dent. If they lower it in NA and Sony doesn't match it will do more damage. In Europe PS3 has almost caught up to X360 and X360 had more than a year head start.
They aren't selling it at a loss anymore, they break even. This summer they are adding a smaller Cell and cutting costs on a couple other parts, so a price cut is quite possible but not probable until this fall.

Jack has it that online polls are bad. I wouldn't call all of them worthless as some limit the number of votes per person (hacking not included), but the sample population is skewed usually. Most polls are subject to a lot of error but online ones are loaded with problems.

VG is the only source for worldwide sales that are close to accurate, granted they aren't perfect by any stretch. NPD is not perfect either, they are missing one of the biggest retailers for example.
