I know the person who started this pathetic crusade on Twitter - it's bloody disgusting. They asked him if MTs were required to play, to which he replied saying it was cosmetic only - which is true. Then, this guy decided to post an image of the PS4 items for sale which he got online (as he doesn't even own the game) and started to call him out for being wrong about a few boosts which weren't even supposed to be buyable with the gold (as you couldn't get them on PC, the update...
A Hat in Time would be great. I've never understood why that never came over to the switch. I can't see the game being too advanced for the system as they could just dial back the resolution and it'll be fine. I'm still waiting for the DLC on the PS4 for that one though - it seems their main focus is the PC which now has tonnes of mods, DLC and receives constant support from the devs.
True, I can't see them making this one VR though - even though the original game was. This one was made specifically for Flat usage. Would be nice if they did a sequel and went back to VR though, now that they can see how popular PSVR has become
I believe the marketing rights are still with MS on that one. But, you never know, when the DLC comes out they could technically bundle them together and maybe make a few changes to the base game - that could possibly see it come to other platforms. It all depends on what the marketing agreement looked like.
This game isn't that bad though if you like old-school 3D platformers like Spyro. I'm going to grab it on the Switch for review and I'll certainly pick it u...
@kernel - in order to run any of the games at a decent rate via an emulator on pc requires a system which costs a lot more than the price of a PS4 (and probably a PS5). They also require a lot more power (both CPU and GPU) than the PS4 has (no idea about the PS5 yet), so it's not that they don't want to, it is a real reason at this point.
Obviously, that's only the PS3; PS2 and PSOne should really have been emulated on the PS4 but then it all comes down to licen...
I wouldn't say they are 'trapped' - anyone can pick up a PS3 and play them today. Things like Heavenly Sword will probably never get re-released now is Sony owns the IP, seeing as the original Devs were Ninja Theory, so any kind of re-release will most likely see MS wanting it on their console too.
@LordJamar - I beg to differ. DR3 has supposedly sold around 2.1m copies on both PC and Xbox, with Steamspy saying around 1m people on Steam own it. so that leaves around a million on Xbox. Good numbers but Capcom officially saw that game as a flop, which is why they had a timed exclusive on DR4 and not a full one.
DR4 officially underperformed ( h...
@Tomc878 - not at all. I'm not disregarding the acquisitions, as that's a valid method and they've obtained a number that way. I was purely saying that the OP said MS has "a habit of buying ip's off other studios" - that statement isn't correct as they haven't gone out and purposely bought an IP from anyone, other than Gears, this generation.
To flip it, as you're stuck on the logic that if you disagree with a statement then it means yo...
With a Pro you can stream to your PC anywhere in the world at 1080/60 (max) and on a base PS4 it's 720/60.
The Xbox version - which is local network only at the moment (until Xcloud launches), has a max of 1080/60 on the X (not sure about the S/base consoles)
So, I fail to see what you're trying to get at?
why?
Digital Foundry goes a little crazy sometimes, don't they... Saying this thing the team doing BC on the Xbox will be tasked with emulating and getting PS4 and 5 games working on Azure hardware for PSNow... All the info that's been announced from Sony is that the servers are being used as a datacentre, not the service servers.
Just seems like a lot of fictional speculation based on unknown information and guesswork. However, DF has a long history of getting things r...
@Knightofelemia - The Halo IP was acquired for the launch of the original Xbox, back in the early 2000s when they bought Bungie, they got the IP - which is how they get them these days too. Gears of War was bought back in 2014, most likely in a deal set up before the Xbox One came out, in order to stop future games going elsewhere.
So, that's two IPs, one obtained by buying out the studio, which I said shouldn't be included, and the other from the beginning of the g...
No they don't... Name five IPs that MS has bought. Not ones that came via the acquisition of a small development team, Just straight out bought an existing IP for their own use? If anything, THQ Nordic are the ones gobbling up IPs
Don't know why everyone is presuming that if the DR series was sold, MS would buy it.
DR3 did terrible on the Xbox, DR4 sold more on the PS4 when it came out a year after the Xbox, although it still underperformed in general. Handing it to MS is pretty much putting the last nail in the coffin. Now, selling the rights to someone like THQ Nordic, who has been gobbling up IPs and creating multiplatform games that stay multiplatform and release on various platforms at the s...
Didn't games like Dead Rising and Marvel vs Capcom recently get added to both the Xbox GamePass and the new PC GamePass? It's most likely a payment to allow games onto the PC version of GamePass.
Think of this, everyone has been laughing at how MS apparently paid millions of dollars to get Ninja to move over to Mixer, money which could have been spent on a bunch of new games - if this payment to Capcom is in relation to the PC version of their games for GamePass, im...
Well, it says over 40 days but the games already in the list date back to around the 25th. It's an interesting concept - buy games on our system and we'll give you points which, I presume, can be used to buy more games? Doesn't look like it's covering big games though as Wolfenstein came out after Hoggy 2 (for example) but isn't included.
I'll be keeping an eye on this as I'm interested in seeing what the 60 games are.
Nicknasty - not to be taking sides, but the review is for Doom 3 and you mention Doom 3 in your comment - as such, anyone reading your comment would think you were talking about Doom 3, not the original Doom.
Wonder if this is still part one or if it's a full game now? I know when it launched on PC in Early Access and the Xbox, it was classed as only part one of the game.
But it's by Doublefine so surely it'll be on the Windows store as well as Xbox (which I know is different). Maybe it'll be like Metro Exodus which was also 'exclusive' to the Epic Store yet allowed to be placed onto the PC via the Win 10 store within GamePass thanks to their publishing rights for the game.
Nevermind - just seen this:
You didn't see the attitude of the person who started it all. They were acting very entitled and as if they knew everything about the game - even though they didn't own it.
