'Only 4.2m headsets sold' - you realise that's more than the number of Xbox One X consoles that have sold, right? 4.2m for a 200-300 dollar accessory is pretty good - especially when about 90% of those units were also coupled with a set of Move controllers at around 70-100 dollars a pair + the amount of software sold for them.
Sure, from the outside looking in, you would think it's niche and don't see the appeal of it, but those who have the unit and hav...
The problem with that is 'options'. If you allow VR but then also allow headset which may range from low-end 720p screens, all the way up to 1440p or beyond, it's multiple systems the devs have to think about once again.
Something that looks great on a 1080p or 1440p screen, with the text you can read with no issues, will look blurry and unreadable on a 720p screen. Yet if you optimise for a 720p screen, those with more expensive headsets won't feel the ben...
"By discovering a vulnerability found in some of Epic Games’ sub-domains, an XSS attack was permissible with the user merely needing to click on a link sent to them by the attacker. " - would that hold up as being the fault of Epic though? Sure, there was an issue but they patched it as soon as it was known. The end-users who were affected had basically clicked an unknown link which was sent to them...

I'd love to see a new Bully - a small open town with no two characters which look the same as you work through an adventure whilst balancing it around your school/college/uni life. As long as they don't go full open-world and make it massive, then it'll be great (probably).
I'm just wondering how soon it will be until all of the Switch, PC and PS4/Vita DF games appear on Xbox. As far as I'm aware, things like the Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle and Grim Fandango remakes never made it onto their platform previously. I guess once they do, they'll see how the sales numbers add up to those on other platforms and then decide moving forward where the fanbase lies.
the only issue is, a lot of the DF games were PS Plus freebies at one p...
You're missing the point - they didn't care about that - news sites talk about things which have been 'found' all the time. The issue was the guy was offering the info in exchange for money (or in this case, paying for a subscription so you gained access to the info). Selling information they obtained which isn't public (no matter how they got it) is still a crime and not legal. If he had not put the info behind a paywall, none of this would have happened...
Where did I do that above... I've seen these situations play out within companies I've worked for - both against internal employees and outside please breeching NDAs and talking about things which weren't publically disclosed.
However, in my comment above, where did I start talking about the legal process or blindly believing a small YouTuber based on his scripted comments?
Are you a lawyer? Did you study Law and get a degree? If not, then try to watch what you're saying as you clearly have no idea what you're on about. Inside Gaming reached out to a few lawyers to confirm or deny if the actions taken were legal or not. Guess what - everything they did was legal and quite timid in comparison to what they could do. Don't forget, over in America, the law changes based on the state you're in - in this case, the things he was doing was technically il...
Discord shut it down without 2k's involvement as he was offering info and 'leaks' in exchange for money, which goes against their terms. Sure, it was a sub to his channel but it's still money. that's also why 2K stepped in - leaks are one thing, purposely exploiting a security flaw to obtain private and confidential footage/info and then selling it to the public - that's pushing it way, way over the edge into the legality side of things.
Well, if you watch Inside Gaming on YouTube, they actually did what most people who 'reported' on this didn't bother to do. They got statements from 2k, they were sent the screenshots and evidence 2K have against the guy - which shows he was selling information he shouldn't have had (as they bought it off him), and they even reached out to a few actual lawyers to tell them just how legal 2k's actions were and if they were light on him or not.
Yet, a lot...
I know! Wasn't a hashtag to win sex toys from another YouTuber one of the most popular trends last week...
'Fans' - yeah, okay. 'Fans' are those who were objecting to this guy wrongfully obtaining and leaking details about the game before 2K, Gearbox and Take-Two could announce things for themselves. Go look at the BL Community, not many people liked this guy. Unless by 'fans' you mean his following he amassed since he began leaking information last year?
A lot of armchair lawyers don't understand how corporations work and how they can, and will, try ...
yeah - not Minecraft Story Mode Season 3 though!
I don't even mind if they explore their own IPs but with a more story-focus to them, as I don't think they want to gamble on new IPs at the moment. It's a shame because last gen they were pushing new games all teh time but this gen, since Phil took over, it's as if they've stepped back and been focusing on cloud, PC and mobile gaming more than the console and the games.
I'll believe it when they show them. I think they believe Single Player is the same as Cooperative. Look at Fable Legends and Scalebound, both forced into being Co-op before cancelling. Gears has co-op doesn't it, and Halo, not to mention the Single Player of Forza becoming a 'The Crew' online world where others joined as you played.
I mean, it's all fine, as long as you can play on your own if you choose without the game being too difficult due to bein...
I had to look it up - this is a newer gun from NERF: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
It's a Fortnite one - the trailer above starts with "It's Fortnite, but in real life" - that's more damaging than a digital game, isn't it? It's bringing the digital pleasures of shooting people into the real world with a physical gun.
They need to bring back that Nerf game from the 90's - it was basically Unreal Tournament but you played with Nerf guns instead - that was so much fun and nobody died in it. That's a thought, are Nerf guns still on sale in America? Wouldn't they be classed as making war seem like fun?
Thing is, as it's not releasing with any alternative content on any other platform - you wouldn't even know if they cut anything or not...
For press passes. If you're attending an event and require access to press-only areas (which now covers content creators and formal press people), then you have to give over certain details so they can issue and send you a pass. We goto EGX over here in the UK and we have to give certain info as well.
... no it's not. Now news of this is out in the open, expect a cease and desist to go to the creator along with a bunch of follow up articles saying the contact from the lawyers was "unexpected" and the people doing the port are "devastated that they've spent so long on it"...
Mentioned this above - I don't think they will as it'll cause stress to the devs and consumers as to how their games will look and play. A lower end headset may cause headaches or have text you can't read as it was developed around a higher resolution headset, for example.
If they really wanted to compete, they would need their own headset which they sold at a reasonable price that was the same or higher than the PSVR resolutions.
