I think the question is - is the Battle Royale genre over saturated now or is this an exception as it's the original stand-alone BR game? I'm going to give it a chance but I'm still not 100% convinced on the genre yet. It does appear PS4 Pro owners 'may' have an advantage though, plus some of the press images sent were in full 2160p and claimed they were from the Pro, so possibly a 2160p at 60fps game?
Cool, for that price I definitely recommend it - it isn't on sale over here atm in the UK. The main campaign lasts about 70-90 mins if you play it in one go (which it has a trophy for) - but then if you jump into all the new features they have added it will last a lot longer.
I don't know if you saw the two gameplay videos in the article but the game is so much sharper with a higher resolution and graphical fidelity than it originally had. It's not perfect as i...
ahh, okay - when I looked before it didn't say that for some reason :/ - Thanks :)
but it has got pro enhancements - it's higher quality and higher graphical settings than the base models. The interview never says anywhere that it's 4k on the X, the title is saying that as it's a well known Xbox fanboy ran website. They said HDR will be implemented later on as well, so it is getting enhancements. A higher pixel count isn't the only thing that counts as an enhancement - higher graphical settings are much better then a few extra pixels
Nobody noticed that the guy interviewed never once said it was 4k on the X? all he said was it's 1080p on the Pro with the higher quality textures and detail effects. The site put 4k in the title of the article, but the dev literally never said anything. For all we know, it could be 1440p or less on the X
Probably because these games are killed off by the physical sales due to the majority of people renting and buying them second hand in order to get a quick platinum. The game is only about £25 and it's worth every penny - I reviewed it on our site and I loved every second of the three playthroughs, which still didn't let me see everything episode one had to offer
It's not very long tbh. If you are just playing the story then it's about 20 hours. If you are going for the platinum it's about 40 - with about 5-7 of those extra hours just playing the Clan-battle game
Yeah, I'm always wary about F2P titles. The developer gave me the game early, a bunch of the green coins (MicroTransactions) and one of the gold suits, the unicorn one. But because I'm based in the UK, I can only play the game and not use the DLC as they are locked to me US account only. So I've just been playing it vanilla and I'm really enjoying it.
You will get to points where you can't get all three of the stars from the levels without a certain suit...
Pretty much - I've just looked up more info on it and the developer does state his influence as Kiki. You should see the original title card before he had to change it for obvious reasons: https://cdna.artstation.com...
I don’t play it on PC - I played about 4-5 hours on psvr but after writing my original review, I watched 4 streams and videos of PC owners on YouTube to see how they put up with the terrible controls - that’s where I saw they had correct controller support implemented and a decent teleport system.
I also saw their tutorial section had more content, such as painting the dinosaur. I know that’s a small thing but if that simple thing is missing - what else isn’t there?
True, I don't see it in the top 20 next week - maybe in the top 40 though. Nothing against the game but a lot of people won't know what it is. Some people may buy it thinking it's as smooth to play as games like Diablo, Victor Vran and Van Helsing - they will get a shock if they think that though. I feel it's more like a fan-service to its fans to bring it to modern consoles. The people who grew up playing it or remember buying it on release and playing it to death will most l...
I guess. It's had a few updates since 2006 - they did the DLC for it, then the developer shut down and THQ retained the rights - so they put it on mobile in 2016 followed by an anniversary version on PC in 2016 as well - then they made a brand new expansion for it late 2017.
So technically, it is a 12-year-old game, but it's being made accessible to people who have never played it before and in a much more user-friendly environment I guess. It's still confusing ...
The 25th ward controls are a bit more refined but just as strange tbh! I think it's because it was built for a mobile device back in 2005 so they have tried to recreate the experience in the remake as well - although I would have prefered an option to play with modern controls as well :)
:) - yeah, I really enjoyed it - the parts where you have to be quick and act fast kinda helped break up the puzzles but also got in the way as I wanted more puzzles! It's really calm and relaxing though (when doing the puzzles) and it looks great in VR.
I thought he looked like David Tennant!
It is, it's one of those "so bad, it's good" titles. At launch it was a mess, cars pinging all over the place, combat was a mess, the UI was terrible and you couldn't read the font unless you were about 2 feet from the TV - but they have patched a lot of it and it's now more than playable.
I've completed the game twice and I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I initially thought I would have done.
Sounds a bit like the PS4 port - that one was a bit all over the place with controls - luckily I have a controller with paddles so I remapped most of the commands myself but the screen tearing is pretty bad. I'm hoping Shoppe Keep 2 concentrates on the console ports instead of just putting the final Early Access build on them and calling it a day whilst still updating the PC version but refusing to do the same for console.
Well worth it - Just don't read up on it or follow any guides - best to jump in and play it for yourself as you will get a lot more out of it, plus it's easy enough to work everything out anyway :)
That's what had me intrigued to play it! Truth be told, it feels like an early access game on PC that's been ported over to console - If you have played Shoppe Keep on PS4 then it's like that! But underneath the clunky controls and un-polished world - it's a decent puzzle game.
True, I was thinking if the rumours of COD and BF getting them were true, as well as the other BR games that are coming? I personally don't think this will affect Fortnite that much, but it may be Playstation's answer to PUBG, only free to play.
Hopefully we will get the new car mode as well, as that mode looks pretty fun.
