Actually, if you read that small article you posted, it says the MS Gaming division - not Xbox. That’s Xbox consoles and hardware, Xbox software, Windows 10 store sales, Minecraft on all platforms and their dlc, Etc... its a lot more than simply the Xbox brand.
Also, if we’re talking numbers, I’d disagree that GamePass played a ‘large part’ in their revenue (not profit). The majority of people have it for a dollar or have converted their live accounts to ultimate for a dol...
The sequel will if the first one sells well. They won't announce anything until after it's come to the Xbox though, to try and get some initial sales - so maybe six months or so after launch.
@abnor_Mal - they can't say that because the fanbase for their console would feel betrayed and upset. When Phil first announced that there would be no more exclusives, as all games are going to the Windows Store on launch, there was a lot of outcry on Social media from certain people. Then, when the games were announced to be on Steam on launch day, there was another outcry of people feeling 'betrayed'.
The same thing happened when they were all celebrating abo...
Microsoft has what nobody else in the entire world has - The sales figures for their games.
If they see that the franchise is selling best on a competitor's platform, they'll release the spin-offs and sequels on that platform. It's easier to tell die-hard fans of the Xbox that "it's only Minecraft and that's already there anyway" than "the IPs we bought are going to always be on the best selling platforms".
Yeah, didn't have time to read it as I was just on my way out when I wrote the above. I imagine what was written probably doesn't match the impression the description above gives, I'll give it a read later when I have a spare moment :)
It's on for an hour? I'm not expecting much based on their past outings, but I'm hoping it's not just 70-80% GamePass adverts as usual
They've seen enough? What have we seen so far? A few trailers and a small gameplay snippet - and that's enough for this person? Don't they know what hype is or why people moaned at MS for not showing any Campaign footage for Gears 5 before launch? Anything new rebuilds the hype and keeps it active - going radio silent like MS does will result in people losing interest in the game.
Very silly article (based on the headline and description above)
They don't need an increase in framerate. PSVR titles have to run at wither 90 or 120fps to avoid motion sickness - hence the lower resolutions. The res could possibly be bumped on the PS5 but not for the base PSVR, as the screen is only a single 1080p panel.
Either way, they'll probably require a patch to take full advantage, just like the PS4 games on the Pro
The EGS has been home of a new Unreal Tournament for about 6 years now. It was the main reason they had the launcher - before Fortnite took over. However, I think they stopped developing it once FN started pulling in so much money for them - but you can still download it and play it free on there. It has support for mods as well I think, as well as info on how to make your own levels and what not - or it did the last time I looked.
A highly anticipated game from Remedy... I imagine it's already made more than that by being sold on the store as it has a much lower percentage going to EGS and no fees for UE4 (it it used it). It's clearly made more than that on consoles, but I imagine the PC side has been quite profitable as well.
If you obtained the game from a store and are just a member of the public then fair enough - say what you want. However, I would have thought that if you've had it that long then you would have either been a reviewer, YouTuber or (hopefully not) bought it off one of the above either as someone you know or on Ebay.
My original message wasn't trying to 'scold' anyone, it was just seeing if you were aware you were basically breaking the embargo (had you receive...
If you already have it then doesn’t that mean you’re under embargo like the rest of us? i.e. should you really be talking about it before the date the publishers requested...
You're missing the point. Apple Arcade has its own audience. The mobile phone gaming business pulls in a lot more revenue than Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft combined. Why do you think Phil keeps going on about 2bn gamers - that's because that's the number quoted who play games on mobile devices.
For a number of people, a lot more than those signed up to GamePass, Apple Arcade is great value. Over 100 games which they can download and play, rotate between and not...
The service doesn't look that bad. I don't game on my iPad that much anymore but my mum does - I bet she'd be interested in trying it out for a few months (she used to be signed up to that Big Fish via their service which gave them a game every few weeks).
Not read the article but based on other peoples comments, they're comparing it to GamePass, why? Gamepass is a service for PC and Xbox which retails at 15 dollars (not counting the countless discounts in ...
How are you getting that from your quote? To me, that sounds like they're saying in the first week which included the early access and the actual launch of the game (which was Tuesday) all the way until Friday. So that's 4 days early for all the GamePass cheapo's and then four days for those who decided to buy it in steam or Xbox - then the figure he is exaggerating, as usual, is those combined.
The 20k was sales of the game in stores in the UK on launch up until yesterday. Well, it's less that 20 as someone worked out it was 23k based on it being 1/4 of the launch of Gears 4 (as per a reputable market analysis who knows the numbers). However, he said the figure they had for Gears 4 was too high, thus less than 20k physical sales in the UK on launch.
If we look at Steam (which wasn't in the charts as it doesn't do PC or digital sales - Steamspy estimate...
Over 3 million players... okay. Sorry, but it sold less than 20k in the UK - I guess everyone could have been playing it for 'free' via GamePass, but I don't see it being numbers like that.
It has a set release date now. It vanished for a while but perp games have stepped in and are helping them with the physical distribution and publishing, so its on track to release on time.
They're saying it correctly. That's the thing with silent games vs voiced ones, you actually get to hear how things are said. Look at Aerith, for years we all called her Aeris due to a translation in the original western release - at least now we know for sure that it's supposed to be Aerith.
You can't have 60fps animations in a 30fps game, but you can have 30fps animations in a 60fps game.
Basically, the game is 60 on all platforms, but the only platform with 60fps animations is the switch.
