Yup, took all of 30 seconds to realise - via an official Xbox Post - that they were locking a 'Free-to-play' weekend behind their paywalls yet others aren't. Then took about a minute or so to write the above when N4G was playing up and frozen in time yesterday (the site was in limbo for about 10 hours for some reason).

Just find the whole thing silly though - even those who big-up MS all the time have to agree. I'm not, as the other guy says, complaining to ...

This annoyed me on social media.

On the PS4, everyone can download and play the game this weekend - no restrictions and no requirements. Anyone can play and enjoy it for free (albeit probably with no trophies)

On Xbox, just like their backwards anti-consumer approach to the ‘FREE-to-play’ games, you MUST have an active Xbox Live Gold or GamePass Ultimate subscription to even download the ‘FREE’ weekend games. So, in order to play it for FREE, you have to ...

I don’t get why they don’t just post their interview as one and they don’t stop pulling out snippets to deliver as out-of-context ‘no shit sherlock’ articles... oh wait, clickbait as usual. This one ‘interview’ will be posted over about 8-10 articles, one per ‘forced closed question’ they asked.

Seriously, will ddr6 ram be faster than ddr5... no, it’s gonna be so slow, you could cook a turkey whilst it’s loading the title screen. Of course it’s gonna be faster - the janito...

The majority of (UK) ISPs only give you 10-20mbps upload as well, regardless of your download. The main provider which doesn’t is Virgin, but they’re more expensive and not in all areas.

PS Remote Play, for example, only requires a 5-10mbps upload.

*just seen you said 4.75mbps and not 4Mb (40mbps). My bad.

It’s a fun game, basically a much more user friendly and modernised version of the old arcade game. It’s just a shame that you have to complete 50 levels and finish the game before the hard mode unlocks - which is when it really becomes challenging. I imagine it’ll be more fun for families as well, playing along with others in Co-op.

I doubt they'll do that. Sony stopped letting PS TV, PS Vita and PS3 owners from using PS Now just before PS4 was added to the servers. If you allow gamers to play games from a newer console - why would the casual gamers ever upgrade?

Then again, it is MS and they do shoot themselves in the foot quite often...

Psvr has a number or graphically advanced games. Look at skyrim - yeah, it’s old, but that runs fine on the headset. This game is supposedly on the source engine, that’s not exactly pushing the requirements.

They’re releasing it on PC first because they get the lions share as it’s their store, so no additional fees. They’ve opened it to all headsets so again, more people can grab it and they’ll get a large chunk of the revenue, if not all of it. If they do decide to bring ...

Why? Reduce the resolution to the 960x1080 and it’ll run with no issues. It’s only running on the source engine, it’s nothing that intensive once you strip a few things back. Chance are, it won’t even look anything like these images and videos in vr on PC either, this is recorded in flat mode for the trailer

No it's not... The beta is free, the final version will charge you to rent their Xbox One S servers to steam games once it officially hits v1.0 - just like PS Now did (it was free throughout the beta for all members - I was one of them).

What you're confusing it with is Xbox's version of the PS4 Remote Play, the system that lets you stream your own console to any device. that's the one which will be free (providing you have an Xbox). I'm not sure what th...

If the service is done correctly, it doesn't matter what your download speed is - other than the output resolution on your side. If the Stadia servers are running the game at 4k, I should be able to receive a 1080p downsampled image at the same bandwidth as it running the same game at 1080p - as the image I'm getting is 1080p, regardless of what it's running at on their side.

It just seems that either they need to adjust the settings on their side (as they may n...

"We are talking about the services man, keep up. Sure its free...but could you play it on your tablet or phone...of course you cant...and do you know why...its because your tablet or phone can play it locally...thus you need it streamed there instead...ok so just take your free copy and stream it cool right...oh shoot, cant do that because its not on the PS Now SERVICE where they stream games. Get your mind right."

Getting a lot of downvoted for stating what Google said the device was going to do. People on here are a bit ignorant I guess.

@Ripsta7th - sure, those two are valid and popular streaming platforms but Stadia is Google's platform and Google owns YouTube - that's why integration to YouTube for streaming directly from the Stadia servers (so it doesn't use your bandwidth like it would when you usually stream) is set to be to YouTube - according to the announcement ...

True, but do people need that point out to them? Surely we know this? The amount is the part which seems strange though as Netflix only uses about 2gb an hour on HD, although that's only at 24fps, so I imagine that's why it's about 2.5x the size.

would be interesting if you could enable a 30fps mode and have it half the amount of data used as an option for those with slower or capped connections (although you don't want to play streamed games if you're ...

Why would you - it's a Google product. Not sure if it's built-in yet but it's going to stream to Youtube direct from the server. So, you're streaming just fine and Google is streaming to their YT servers - meaning no impact on your bandwidth and experience.

If you have to stream to Twitch then fair enough, It'll be an issue if you're doing it via your PC, but if they implement an option to stream to Twitch from the device then it'll be the same a...

At this point, I feel like people are just actively seeking things to say which are negative about the service just because it's something clearly not intended for them. Look at how much hate PS Now initially got from people who were never going to subscribe to the service either.

There was an article the other day from someone complaining that they couldn't use the system over public Wifi - most public venues have a throttle on the bandwidth each person gets and o...

"On PC, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an approximately 150GB download. So that’s significantly less than 47 hours on Stadia. And that doesn’t include any extra time put into Red Dead Online. Now, to be fair, you don’t need to download any updates for Stadia games. But streaming is still far more data intensive."

Did they really just compare the physical download size to the streamed data size? They do know that you're not downloading the files and are simply viewin...

It Means that PSVR, which is supposedly compatible with the PS5, will now require you to seek out and buy a new DS4 if you pick it up or need to replace your controller, rather than the newer DS5 - this means you'll only use that controller with the PSVR games as you'll want the new haptic feedback and resistive triggers for the PS5 games, rather than the more basic features in the DS4.

They should have supplied it with all the features...

Controller Speaker, the new haptic vibration in the controller and triggers, the programmable resistance in the triggers based on the game you're playing, the touchpad, 6-axis motion controls, the lightbar that interacts with games and VR, the share button... yeah, there's been no innovation at all over the last seven years has there?

What has Xbox done which innovated their controller since the Duke? They've changed nothing and added nothing since the Xbox 360 ...

How can you judge anything by the pictures? There is no measurements or comparison shots. The only thing different is a slightly fatter 'leg' that you hold on to, which looks about a cm thicker than it is now once it reaches the thumbsticks Based on looking at me DS4 and looking at the image above).

The Xbox Controller is bigger and bulkier than that - I doubt Sony will opt to make it bigger than it is now.

Where have you read that? The patent for PSVR 2 which was spotted a while ago clearly shows the lights still being present on the headset. As far as we know (as I doubt anyone here works for the PlayStation RnD department), seeing as PSVR is said to work fine with the next console, the next version of PSVR will be similar but with a few tweaks to make it a bit clearer and fewer wires/better controllers.

As such, if the DS5 doesn't have a light bar then that's a bad...
