Well, considering just a few posts below you're stating it's 'most likely a pricing error', yeah, it is a 'cool story'. At least it's factual and correct - plus it only took 30 seconds, something nobody else even bothered to do...
I asked the publisher who put the avatar on there - something nobody else seemed to think of doing. It wasn’t a mistake, it’s supposed to be $99.99
First of all, Metacritic doesn't remove reviews - they won't even change the score after your site has been scanned and they pull through the first number you give. So what you said would never happen. Second, this site only advertises they are on Opencritic, not Metacritic - you have to declare you're on their site if you're part of their approved sites - so this one was never on Meta to begin with.
Why are so many people on N4G claiming that every reviewer follows the same standardised rating process? All these "it can't be below 5 if it's not broken" is BS. I've not played DS, so I can't talk about this game, but can anyone point me to this universal law-abiding gospel of review scores which we should all be following when we review a game?
Don't forget, the 'score' on a review is that particular reviewer's personal opinion -...
Oh look, Kyle is back... How was I 'attacking' anyone? I was stating what the game contains. You really are rather aggressive and seem to either have trouble reading or you just get off on attacking people yourself - as you seem to always lie and exaggerate about anything I've typed. It's pathetic, old and annoying. I thought you'd grown up a little and moved on, apparently not...
@anubis - sure, a remake would have been good but it's about the nosta...
I guess you don't understand how Metacritic works? It doesn't choose what reviews it shows - if your site is approved to be on the system (reviewing a certain amount of games and having a certain number of followers/visitors), then every review you do will automatically be assigned to the relevant game and the review score is counted towards the total.
There's no cherry-picking or manually adding reviews.
Low effort, have you played it? I've not read the review, as we have our own coming soon, but the game contains multiple versions of each game - including the GB and GBC versions, a new un-released updated Aladdin based on the Megadrive source code, the soundtracks, bonus making-of videos and concept art, and both the SNES and MD versions of the Lion King (the SNES Aladdin was Capcom so probably couldn't get the rights).
There's a decent about of content includ...
"Who'd have thought that one day, Microsoft might be a leading RPG mega-publisher?" - Private Division is the publisher. All MS did was swoop in and buy the developers when they were pretty much feature-complete with the game and just fixing the bugs and implementing final touches.
Oh wait, Windows Central... That's why it's worded like that...
That's what I'm thinking. They would probably be able to get games in the service much easier - as they're already on steam and won't need specific coding so they work on the Windows store, it would mean people will actually play games like Gears 5 on Steam, and it would probably push them to move over more of their first-party titles (although almost all of them are over there now anyway).
I wonder if MS is looking at this and are already working out how they can get their GP on Steam as well...
I enjoyed this game. There were a few 'issues' such as the slow gameplay and the lack of simply buying health items, but I'm glad I played it through to the end as it does get much better the further in you get.
We all know this will probably be on the Epic Games Store right? The recently announced MP game that's coming to PC is also on EGS, as was the Quantic Dreams games which Sony held the IP for. Those in this comment section saying they re cancelling their PS4 orders to buy it on PC - are you still going to say the same when it's announced as an EGS only title?
I have nothing against the EGS, but apparently everyone else hates it.
It never was an exclusive though... It's being developed by a team which do a lot of multiplatform releases. I don't recall them ever saying it was exclusive to only the switch...
Aren't you mature...
Thing is, despite the game having new content, it’s been a few years since P5 came out and other games have launched which are, subjectively, better. So, comparing a score to a game today to one from a few years ago is pointless.
Just look at most remasters, they usually score less these days than when it originally launched. It doesn’t mean it’s a bad game, as it’s the same, but based on what’s out now and how the market as shifted, it may not be as original and impactful ...
Wasn’t the game remastered/remade for the fans, rather than the general gamer? If so, was the reviewer a fan of the original game? If not, couldn’t they have got someone familiar with the original to play and review it? Just wondering as I’ve not played the original but would have thought a fan would have done the review.
Not enough was done to modernise the mechanics. Wasn’t the whole point that this was a remake and not a reboot. Technically, if it’s 1:1 then it’s most likely a remaster rather than remake, but still. I would have thought people would expect the same gameplay mechanics as the original?
How am I missing the point? You're claiming publishers are paying for reviews - which they aren't, as that'll be immoral and borderline illegal - and you said you hate 8-9/10 scores. Fairbenough if you mean in general but this is a brilliant game, very deserving of the scores it's getting.
Took me about 30-35 to complete the main storyline. It's almost impossible to see everything in one playthrough as you continuously get polarising choices (side with one person over another or deal with something in a certain way.
By the end of my first play, I'd not had access to one of the planets, I missed out a few side-missions which I'd found (there's a lot of hidden quests), I hadn't met two of the companions you can pick up, and I may have accid...
Why don't you ask him yourself, he's active on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Pinkera...
And yeah, I've spoken to the publisher a few times as I've reviewed a few games he's put out previously. So yeah, maybe if you'd stop being so patronising and sarcastic, you'd actually be able to have a decent conversation.
Also, his response to '...
