I assume you're commenting on my post. But it's obvious I meant that the plot in MW 2 was similar to the first game, i.e. COD: MW. That includes the similar plot twists and the use of a great catastrophe to move the story forward.

I did NOT say that I expected the plot to change after playing through MW 2 the first time.

Ok.

The writing and plot progression is not a step up. It's a near identical copy of the first Modern Warfare. This, in turn, makes the characters 2 dimensional and largely forgettable (I've played the single player game three times through and could only name "Soap" and Price) and the story horrendously predictable.

I mean, I wasn't shocked when certain characters died. I'd seen it before in the first game. I'd have been more shocked had the characters ...

Aside from the obvious similarities to Indigo Prophecy, this game is reminding me a lot of Shenmue.

I actually posed a theory in a similar thread.

The only way to continue the story is from the light side ending. But that raises the problem of "how?"

The way I see it done is just not having him die. Like he's in a self-imposed Force coma. I mean, it's not like Vader or the Emperor would get rid of the body themselves (which was still there at the end of the game), so that leaves lackeys doing it. Lackeys who could be killed thus letting Starkiller escape--a...

The PS3 DID outsell the 360 on BLACK FRIDAY.

It was outsold for the month of November....in North America at least.

Worldwide, that's a different story.

At the end of the day, it's the worldwide figures that matter.

Actually, my 80gb MGS 4 edition can play MGS 1, 2 and 3 just as well as my launch 60gb.

^^^^^

They could call it

HALO: ratchet and clank

and it'll sell MILLIONS

6028d ago 3 agree2 disagreeView comment

1.8 million worldwide isn't good enough and equal to "extremely poor sales"?

Umm..ok.

6028d ago 4 agree3 disagreeView comment

Except the game has done about 1.8 million WORLDWIDE.

MS will probably report their numbers as 440,001.

Halo: Reach launch numbers will be greater than Killzone 2 launch numbers. That's just a fact. The "Halo" brand sells tons in the first week.

However, lifetime sales is a different matter. Taking away the fact Killzone 2 had a year head start, it's possible that over a period of time the total will be very close.

Other than bragging rights, there is really no difference if a game sales 2 million in a week and goes on to sale 4 million lifetime and a game ...

Could it be that the 2 million who logged on did so out of curiosity?
I mean, when I updated I logged on to see what it was like. I haven't used it since. I'd imagine there are a few thousand others that did the same.

The real sign of it's success is long-term numbers, not the immediate surge.

While I don't doubt the Wii will have another solid holiday, I have a problem with this:

"This is just another survey indicating that there will be an obvious trend in purchasing methods this holiday season and it doesn’t include the PS3 and Xbox 360 topping the sales the charts."

I love how a "wish list" is concrete proof that something "will" happen.
I mean, there are millions of people in poverty and without shelter around the w...

These type of comparisons are like apples and oranges for the simple fact that:

One is a $60-149 game.

One is a $7-12 ticket.

And until MW 2 grosses over $1 billion like TDK (which is only 1 of 4 that have done that) at $7-12 (theater) and $10-20 (Dvd, Blu-ray), then we can talk.

Don't mind MLG Pro

He thinks that there is some consorted effort by "Sony fans" to discredit MW 2--or as I like to call it "the savior of the game-less 360 in 2009" aka "Another great game in the cornucopia of great PS3 games in 2009."

Kind of a mouth full, I know.

Anyway, you know those PC fans annoyed and angry at IW and Activision? Pro thinks "Sony fans" are behind it.

@Darkstorn

True. When you have one guy, Beck, saying "2 million +" people and you have local fire and safety officials saying "60,000" people and other sources putting it around 500,000 it's kinda hard to take his number seriously.

And the London Daily Mail is a tabloid who wrote that "Sarah Palin is as popular as Diana in the hearts of the American public"

All those articles of PC gamers upset at IW were really written by Sony fans.

Any criticism of the game comes solely from Sony fans.

Riight.

Look, I know it was a looooong summer for you guys. And I get that you're uber excited to have something to play. But the big, bad Sony fans aren't forming some vast conspiracy to trash this game.

Probably a poor translation. But funny nonetheless.
