I really wish VGChartz would never appear on N4G again.
That sounded a lot like my firesale 360 that died about a week ago. It made a sound similar to that, then what sounded like a human scream, then the red rings.
If he didn't say it was recently returned from death, I'd have said that his 360 was was one scream short of exploding.
umm..neither of those links show actual in-game play. Nor are they representative of what the game will look like in its final version. You do realize that right?
In fact, the actual in-game footage of star ocean looks more like Lost Odyssey in terms of graphical fidelity. It's just a little more sharp. And I mean a little more.
I could see EA picking up Sierra. Especially to get PROTOTYPE, Ghostbusters and Brutal Legends.
Prototype is also on the chopping block
well, Sierra is currently producing Brutal Legends, Ghostbusters, Prototype and WET.
But they are responsible for F.E.A.R, Timeshift, Empire Earth, and the Hulk games. Among many others.
There is an article in queue that is saying that the Ghostbuster's Game is being shelved or canned outright due to Activision-Blizzard looking to reorganize it's subsidiaries.
If they offer Yoda as DLC on the PS3 AND do some sort of "Star Wars Character" Pack like the newest rumor states, they better not include Yoda in the pack, otherwise I will not buy it.
Tekken may go multi, but it's being built (and in arcades currently runs) using a Cell based engine and taking advantage of its unique architecture. Not to mention the game has almost 50 highly detailed characters and 20 stages, many of which are multi-teared and have day/night transitions. This is also not counting the myriad of other console specific features--character creation, ending cinemas, etc.
All this is in no means a guarantee that it won't go multi, but the shear size...
@Sitdown
Actually, my response was a two part answer to Mart's assertion. There is no correlation between the two. Therefore no analogy can be made.
1) The first comment with Vader rebukes the idea that slow = bad. I was merely pointing out that Vader is a cross between two specific characters. One powerful the other, while slow and stiff compared to male characters like Raphael, is still quite maneuverable. Although slower than Yoda, it does not equal a bad characte...
Man, that MGS Bundle has been on that list for a week. Too bad we don't know exactly how many sales this translates too.
The RROD still exists, even in newer models. It is not, however, as widespread as it was early on and probably (just speculating) closer to the acceptable rate for electronics.
I just bought a firesale 360 and had it over a week when it got the RROD. I'm waiting for the coffin as I type, but luckily I was just replaying Mass Effect so I'm not missing much. And I'll be getting SC IV for PS3 this week, so I'm set on games and not completely out in the cold.
"Widely known" that Yoda is better? So because 1up says so, its true and "Widely known?" I didn't know an opinion counted as fact.
Yeah..ok.
As for the characters, Vader is not "slow and lumbering." Vader plays more like a cross between Mitsurugi and Siegfried. The power of Siegfried with the mobility of Mitsurugi. Last time I played the game, which was about 20 minutes ago, Mitsurugi is a great character and one of the more balanced of ...
actually, Vader plays more like a cross between Siegfried and Mitsurugi in that his moves are powerful but he isn't overly fast as say Taki. Instead, he is about as fast as Mitsurugi, which if you're familiar with the character can be a little stiff if you're not comfortable with him.
Yoda may be faster, but he is cheap. You can't deny that. They tried to add balance to Yoda by making his moves more aerial based--in that he jumps alot. This, theoretically makes it easier to attac...
lol..I thought this game released months ago...
While the article is asinine, one point of clarification:
Sonny is at least 8 years old, NOT 5 and she was raised in a virtual environment, as explained by Otacon to Naomi, by the Patriots where all she had was computers as companions. Therefore it is possible that they did something to her that made her a computer genius, perhaps as a mean of ensuring their own survival, or she is just a genius in general? It's not unheard of an 8 year old genius.
While I think the game will be beautiful and a blast to play on both consoles, the one thing I'm worried about is the potential length of the game.
I remember from an interview with Mr. Moore back in early 2006 that MS has a standing contract with game developers that all multiplats have to be on one disk. Now, the fact that FF XIII could be on multiple disks for the 360, as quoted in the SE press conferences, raises a number of questions.
Will MS allow that?
Apparently you need to read your comment again.
You said: "Last time we trusted a ps3 source we were told **MGS4** would run at 120frames per second."
Then the sources you listed talk about the PS3 rendering games at 120fps. No where in those articles does it mention MGS 4 specifically.
Therefore, you prove NO ONE wrong.
why yes it was
Niice Jackie Chan reference.
One Mooore thing....
