Assassin's Creed is a perfect example of why you can't equate a game's sales numbers with definitions of being a "good" or "great" game and, more importantly, being above any sort of valid criticisms.
To often we hear this exchange:
" I didn't like (x game) because of (x reasons)."
" Well, (x game) is awesome! It's sold millions!
You're just jealous and being a fanboy and hater."
I mean, anyone with a...
I'm still waiting for a new Bushido Blade.
Once again an uninformed website decides to add it's voice to the chorus of "Hey, this is how I THINK Killzone 2 should be designed."
While I agree that this particular setup could be annoying, the fact you can customize the controls makes this "preview" moot. But you know there are going to be some websites reviewing this game who don't know about the ability to customize the controls and will b*** about it.
Wasn't the fact it was ranked 10th due to it not even being out yet? And then when it actually came out it debuted at number 2?
Also, Gears 2 isn't on the list..does that mean it flopped out?
That is exactly what I was thinking. The title of the article and the content presented do not add up.
According to reception of the game to date, very few people care about Final Fantasy XI. So your attempt at fanboyism fails.
hmm..those are some funny comments seeing as the trailer shows no gameplay. All it shows is random cutscenes. As far as the battlesystem, it is still the same location-based system that the 2006 trailer showed. So either you're just not impressed with it anymore or you believe it to be different from the 2006 trailer.
Also, most of the screens floating around of the game are from the MMO-style multiplayer and not the single player.
Its not even "last-gen" to swap disks. It's "last-last gen"--as in PS1 Era.
With the exception of of a few Gamecube rpgs--Tales of Symphonia being the most memorable--most big name rpgs on the PS2--FF X, FF X-2, FF XII, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, Rogue Galaxy, the two 'Tales' games--were one disk. I believe Star Ocean 3 was the only big name rpg on two disks.
You literally have to go back over a decade to CD based games to find multi-disk rpgs. <...
And it was only a matter of time before Kotaku threw it's hat in the ring to stir up speculation. And guess what side of the rumor mill they fell on...gee, what a shock.
That's what I thought that teaser image was hinting. I firmly believe it's MG Ac!d for the iTouch.
And the green coloring? Well, most graphical representations of acid -- in videogames/comics anyway -- are green.
@bviperz
I definitely think Killzone 2 has the chops to move consoles--IF Sony markets the hell out of it. I'm talking Halo-style marketing campaign--posters, tv spots, movie theatre spots, displays in Best Buy and other major retailers--the whole nine. I seriously hope that a majority of the millions Sony has set aside for it's 2009 marketing campaign is going towards this game.
But even if that's not the case, I definitely see Killzone 2 selling by word of mouth i...
multitask
Im 26 with a full time job in the federal government AND a 4 year old daughter. I've been gaming since I was 5 and between everything, I maybe get an hour or so a night for some "grown-up" gaming on either my 360 or PS3 (we have a Wii too, but after my wife was sick for a few days and got tired of reading she decided to pop in some Zelda and, needless to say it's now "her" Wii.) So I totally get what this author is saying.
But let me tell you, there is absolut...
Aside from the repetitive "dungeons" in the game, this is one of the major problems I've had with Fallout--there is really not a lot to do outside of the main campaign and meager side-quests. I mean, Oblivion's faction quests added a great deal to the game and expected something similar for this game (and DLC doesn't count). But I was sorely disappointed that similar quests didn't exist in Fallout 3.
Now, don't get this confused with 'not a lot to see.' This game, like...
Did you even read any of the comments posted? Or did you just see the "23 million" number and run off to xbox.com (corporate numbers were addressed in both my posts btw) to find the story about them EXPECTING to reach 25 million by the end of Nov?
There is a significant difference between public figures and those used for corporations/private investors/government entities, etc. The numbers that NPD releases monthly fall within the public sphere and are less detailed than what's released to these other groups. In short, they are but a snap shot of how a particular segment of the economy is doing on a monthly basis in order to: 1) fulfill various government finance laws; 2) provide future investors, mostly short term and/or novice invest...
Oh god..I can't believe that I, as a PS3 owner in NA, will not get to play this obviously fantastic game....

Sorry. I usually try to stay above the fanboy bull, but the way the 360 fanboys were going on about this game being canceled for the PS3 and some even calling it a "sleeper hit", this score (which any thinking person saw coming) is just funny.
16 million consoles is limited?
The 360 is only at 23 million. And before the "but MS said they are at 25 million, this number is based on NPD Corporate results used for investor relations (god I love my job and the information I can access) and NOT the numbers just released by MS which are EXPECTED sales numbers, not actual.
As far as when FF XIII is released, it might help but it really depends on when it comes out and assuming it stays exclusive to the PS3 in...
While I don't doubt the 360 outsold the PS3 ( I mean, at a $199 price tag I would be shocked if they didn't) I wonder HOW they came up with that 3:1 figure.
I mean, you can get sales estimates from retailers but that is hardly concrete numbers and until NPD data (in North America) is released, no better than VGCHartz--unless that is where they got the numbers from.
The actual Sony numbers, as a matter of policy, are not released ahead of time. So unless Sony sent MS...
Exactly.
You could probably find articles stating:
"Television and computer division under review."
"Mobile Phone division under review."
It's standard practice when dealing with any sort of financial losses but of course there has to be 20 million articles floating around calling for the "Death of Sony," and "the Downfall of the Sony Empire."
It's sad that so-called journalists are sensatio...
