There is the Dark Forces games, Jedi Knight Outcast, Shadows of the Empire, Jedi Academy, the various Rogue Squadron games. All of which took place in the OT and post-OT timeline and showcase each of these characters in varying degrees.
Right now, with the Clone Wars cartoon and everything, that particular era is hot as far as merchandising. But looking beyond that, what appeals to most people in the mainstream (i.e the casual star wars fan) are not particular characters, but ra...
Just a general FYI , a sales a sale for Sony whether you keep it or not.
i didn't jump on the Team ICO train until about a year after SOTC came out. I will not make that mistake again with this game.
Considering it took them 5 years between Final Fantasy X (2001) and XII (2006) on the same console (and even 2 years between X and X-2, which used a lot of the same assets as X), I would expect a similar time frame for the leap to the PS3.
seriously, you're not even reading the comments are you?
Here I'll slow it down for you
Most. people. posting. still. don't. care.
So basically they are going to use the same footage, info, interviews, etc that Gametrailers TV will use an hour before them?
Well, we had the Snake Story missions for MGS 2 re-release that showed what he was doing before Raiden came to Big Shell. It wouldn't surprise me if THAT is what this will be with Raiden (as many have speculated). It would make sense to do it on a "Subsistence" type re-release though, but a standalone release wouldn't be too far fetched.
Theoretically, if it were a small enough game (say 5-6 hours), it could be a multiplat title. I figure with the cutscenese and what n...
All the hype surrounding Alan Wake as the "best game ever", especially from this site, disagrees with you.
That's the power of Unreal.
Either that or there is a "The Fly" scenario from all those years of traveling through portals with the overly muscular Jax.
So many Bethesda jokes to choose from regarding this article.
But seriously, this is a dangerous and potentially damning law against Europe's growing gaming scene.
@Timmy
With the exception of Bioshock (which was the "better and more complete version" on the PS3--according to 360 fanboy logic regarding extra content) that's a pretty mediocre list of games you tried to make a point with--heck even Vegas on the PS3 was better because it came with the Red and Black pack free, while you were initially charged for the Red one and Stranglehold had an HD version of Hard Boiled on the disk (which the 360 version didn't have).
...
I give you respect because of your ID
but using the whole "company x says something is exclusive" argument can be slapped down by at least 2 examples to the contrary--
2K saying that "there is absolutely no PS3 version of Bioshock"
Square saying that "FF XIII is 100% a PS3 exclusive"
In other words, a company's claims don't mean jack.
and the 360 went from selling 390,000 last month to 175,000 this month.
It also went from selling 188,000 to 175,000 this same time last year
This isn't a news story.
It's not about the fact of the game having a cover system, or how it might be with respect to this game, it's the ambiguity of the statement that makes it asinine.
The way it's written (especially with the context that Warhound "will revolutionize the FPS genre") makes it seem like Warhound invented the thing--in addition to the Far Cry-esque elements described.
But my beef isn't with the game, it's with the site itself.
Aside from the fact that the source of this article is what it is, this:
"Its innovative First Person Perspective cover system will allow you to bring the battle to your enemies in ways you’ve never dreamed of before."
Is probably the most asinine thing I've read today.
or you know, it could be the fact that Famitsu had the Wii ahead last week too only to be embarrassed by Media Create's numbers. Which is a service similar to NPD--i.e. official numbers.
So if Media Create's numbers show the Wii ahead THEN it would be a different story.
But, by all means continue to think your comments are somehow clever. It's funny.
blasphemy aside
if you actually believe that, then please stop gaming right now.
I believe two things:
1. Duke Nukem Forever will be revealed at E3.
2. 3D Realms will have been purchased by a non-MS and Sony entity.
What people don't understand is that the $50 million wasn't solely for the DLC. It was also for development and for release parity with the PS3 version (i.e. money to have a simultaneous release). If I can find the R* presser that mentioned this, I'll post it.
So it is highly possible that the amount for two episodes of DLC was significantly less--perhaps even within the realm of standard timed-exclusive contracts. But the only way I can see it coming in August for the PS3 is if ...
I like how they act like Hulk: Ultimate Destruction (developed by the same guys) didn't happen.
Until you get to the part where it says "Similar to other open world games..." you could just replace "Prototype" with "Hulk: Ultimate Destruction." Hell, the guy's even a scientist who was transformed by a mutation (although a virus and not gamma rays).
Here's a little snippet from the H:UD description:
"Boasting "Unsto...
