This is a little off topic, but:
I have this funny feeling that the PS3 Slim (assuming it's real) is going the route of the PSP GO--in the sense that it will use internal flash memory rather than a HDD.
Now, I don't think sony will abandon the HDD, but there were rumors a while back about Sony releasing their own hard drives for the PS3. I don't recall the specs of this, but what if it was actually a smaller (dimension wise) 2.5?
What if, as one of the w...
The only PS1 games I have left are
FF VII-IX (all original releases)
Chrono Cross (original release)
Metal Gear Solid (original release)
With VII and MGS coming, they just need to release the rest of these games and I can finally retire those disks. They are sooo worn out and scratched up from over playing them.
I don't know what's up with Konami but they've got:
A console Metal Gear game NOT being developed by Kojima
A console Castlevania game NOT developed by IGA.
Seems kinda f'ed up if you ask me.
Yes. 5 million units sold on 1 system is "not selling like it should have."
^^
You might want to rethink your "kid fiddlers" comment.
Sony fans weren't the ones going ape sh*t over a game where the main point is to play with a little kid named Milo--calling it immersive and what not.
That is probably the most uninformed and misleading article I've seen the last few days.
This author acts like each of these companies lives in a giant bubble. How could Sony NOT be aware? Kojima did a freaking interview with Famitsu PS3 and PSP in which he talked about doing the game for the 360. It's hard to believe that the info didn't get back to Sony in some way shape or form. Or that Kojima himself didn't fill SCE about the announcement or his plans.
Also, Koj...

I get what you mean about extended dev time leading to possible disappointment. But with certain properties, you know that the wait will be worth it. And GT is one of those properties.
To be honest, I hope they push this title back and incorporate some of the new motion controller functionality with it.
I don't know who told you Twisted Metal would be at the show, but it's been known for weeks that Jaffe wasn't going to be at E3.
And no disrespect but having a Halo avatar and saying you weren't impressed with GOW 3 because you "didn't see much different from part two" is an irony of hysterical proportions.

You want quality? It takes time.
But to be honest, it's only been in development for 4 years. Compared to other high profile series, that's a little above average.
Halo games ran 3 years of development between each sequel.
The PS2 era Final Fantasy's were about 4-5 years apart.
Metal Gear - 8 years between Metal Gear 2 and MGS; 3 years between MGS and MGS 2; 4 years between MGS 2 and 3; and 4 years between 3 and 4.
The ...
How about you put aside the stock fanboy response of "oh, so now that x game is coming to xx console, it's all good" and actually read the comments?
PS3 owners have known for TWO DAYS that the game was coming to the PS3. It was only the 360 fanboys that were in denial--despite MS, Konami, Tretton, Geoff Kieghly and Kojima saying, "No it was a multiplatform game."
Knowing that, the comments about the game being a "spin off" and whatever o...

No, being a TRUE fan of the series is enjoying every aspect of the series that Kojima created personally--from the story, to the level designs, to the irreverent humor that that is a staple of the MGS universe. Not just enjoying the fact that it has "Metal Gear" in the title.
You take away the person who's 100% responsible for that and you're left with the name only. And I'm sorry, but that be fine for some (especially those who only care that a MGS...
PW is the true sequel to the MGS series because KOJIMA HIMSELF SAID IT WAS. He said it yesterday at the Sony Press conference.
How hard is it for you people to get that?
And the game's subheading of "Lighting Bolt Action" compared to "Tactical Espionage Action" is a good indicator that the game will not be the traditional stealth-oriented MGS.
Also, if you knew anything about the Ninja's in MGS, or about Raiden a la MGS 4 in general...
Pulling off the God of the Suns' head and using it like a lantern?
Very practical it seems.
Both MGS: Rising and MGS: PW are coming in 2010.
The Konami press release confirms it as did Kojima in the Famitsu article.
Also, MGS: R is NOT being developed by Kojima directly--instead he will have a role similar to the one he had with Twin Snakes. Him and his crew from MGS 4 are working on Peace Walker---which he made abundantly clear was THE true sequel to the franchise and NOT a spin-off.
Except MS themselves said it wasn't exclusive.
"You know, we didn't say that it was exclusive," clarified Xbox executive and corporate VP John Schappert (he was the guy hosting most of the event) during an interview with me immediately following the press conference.
"We said that the next Metal Gear will be coming [to Xbox 360]," he said.

However, I have a weird feeling that damage will only be on the NASCAR and WRC cars. Seeing as those cars routinely deal with damage compared to the more mainline and prestigious models of the Hondas, Ferraris, etc. I hope I'm wrong though.
I guess that article about his feelings towards MGS: R were correct.

Hey, some people find bullet holes and c-section scars sexy. Especially if you've never had anything else.
Two things Namco:
1. Please have the Star Wars characters in the game. I want to beat down Yoda with Kratos.
2. Some sort of PS3/PSP connectivity would be awesome. Preferably if you could transfer characters to the PS3 version (or at the very least, costumes and move sets for Create-a Fighter)
Thank you.
