@NYC_Gamer
There are far better games that actually deserve the sales. All COD does is recycle content.
As much as i want to get Skyrim right now and play, i think i will wait 5-6 months, wait for the modding community to spice it up a bit, then play the game in all its glory.
Edit: dam this is kinda hard to resist, Skyrim is currently getting sold at 30usd on the PC.
Dont know about you guys but i bought BF3 on the PC for 38USD at launch. Just need to research a bit before your purchase. Though yea that price wont be available on console for a while.
I usually buy most of my games on Steam discounts. AAA games are usually at sale for 15-20usd after 2-3months of release, gaming couldnt be cheaper :P
Console gamers dont really care about graphics, its all about gameplay as they say so. Why whine about afew texture loading issues then? gameplay is not effected right?
Poor console gamers i feel bad for them being limited to such old hardware. Its just about as bad as walking around with a 6 year old cell phone and pretending whatever new is out there is not needed as my 6 year old cell hasnt been taken full advantage of.
Well even mid range PCs are handling the game very well. Even a GTX 260 from 3 years back is playing the game in high @ 1080p settings.
Console gamers thinking a 2000usd PC is required to play the latest games are clearly misinformed and are only holding themselves back. Today a GPU that beats the GTX 260 would barely cost 150usd. BTW GTX 260 is atleast 2-3 times more powerful then PS3 or 360.
Dont think i can call GTX 260 even mid range by todays standa...
Depends what res you want to max this out at, 1920* 1080 or 2560*1600 or maybe 5760*1080.
PC is the ultimate gaming machine :P
@A-Glourious-Dawn
100% agreed. I look at it this way. Today someone may have a PC that may do BF3 in Low to mid settings (which is still better then console). Later in a few years if the person does decide to upgrade, he gets a free upgrade on his game too (its like getting a free HD remake on a game that you already own and there will be plenty of those in a gamers library).
On the console front you can buy the game it may be equal to the low settings on...
Actually BC2 sold just as well on PC as it did on any console. In fact both Xbox 360 and PC outsold the PS3. Which is why Dice is supporting PC so much with BF3.
Overall EA released their sales figures from different platforms this is how the figures looked like:
PC 153million
Xbox 360- 150Million
PS3- 110Million
Hence i doubt he is among 5% :P more like 33% atleast. Personally getting it for PC along with 4 other frie...
If you are picking it up then you are still part of the problem. At the end of the day they will look at the sales number, which if increased or maintained will make them think "give them more of the same".
"Those who have stopped upgrading their personal computers every six months, and those who never even went down that expensive and treacherous path"
Author is retarded. Upgrading every 6 months is not required. In fact PC hardware like 8800GTX coupled with any dualcore cpu still beats any console out there. Hence upgrading is optional. PC gaming in the long run due to cheaper prices on games can be the cheapest platform to game on.
@below
PC>>>>>> PS3 = XBox 360
No point nitpicking the small differences between the consoles.
Well PC gaming always has the best of most genres if you look at it, and it covers most of the genres better then any console.
FPS- PC has superior multiplats, BF3 on PC this year shall raise the bar higher, there wont be a console FPS atleast until next gen that shall be able to rival BF3. FPS is also one of the most popular genres. Sure PC doesnt sell COD numbers like consoles do, however lets admit it aside COD no other FPS does so well on console either and most people ...
2011 is shaping up to be one of the best years for gaming imo.
2012 looks to be shaping up great too with games like Metro 2034, Diablo 3, Dota 2 all set to release.
When you account every game bought on console is 10-20usd more costly. Then yes PC gaming is easily cheaper. Not to count the awesome deal available on Steam.
Buy 10 games a year at avg price of 15usd cheaper then console version and you are already 150usd cheaper per year. By the 2nd to 3rd year you are cheaper then owning a console, this doesnt even account the insane Steam or D2D discounts, purchases made during even 1 of those is enough to make console gaming look like ...
Yep and like usual console gamers will end up buying it now and also buy it 5 years later. Paying 2 times for the same game is dam expensive. Which is why i stick to PC gaming cause its cheaper.
Well console gamers can relaxed assured that sooner or later they might receive an HD remake of this game. Perhaps in 2016-2017 which may finally rival what PC gamers enjoy today. Of course this will be chargeable as HD remakes dont come free. Remember this is just a rumor and you heard it here first.
@Nukacola
"If the Wii had no Nintendo game, and only watered down versions of it's big brothers, who would buy one? "
By that standard, PS3 and Xbox 360 would have watered down versions compared to the PC, plus it would be more expensive per game too, so who would buy the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions?
Every platform has its market, people buy it regardless.
This game is gonna be amazing, cant wait.
Despite what fans on this site would like to believe i think PS3 really only has Uncharted as a great exclusive, other than that there isnt much worth mentioning.
Shooters are a dime a dozen. Games like Resistance, Killzone, Infamous etc are very ordinary tbh. Sure the fans here are gonna flame me for saying this, however Major part of PS3 exclusives are vastly over rated.
