Yes console hardware is old, however its not like people dont have another option. PC gaming can easily be used as an alternative option. Specially with services like Steam out, people can get a very console like experience on the PC. Hence if you are desperately looking for a performance upgrade and feel this gen is too long in the tooth I would strongly recommend going PC.

Its new tech when it arrives on the PC, when it arrives on console its just marketed as new tech lol, its actually pretty old by the time it hits the console market.
Skyrim is a very CPU dependant game, unfortunately Bethesda didnt do a very good job optimizing the game probably because they had to optimize for 3 systems.
Fortunately for PC gamers, unlike console gamers our hands arent tied, we dont need to wait until a developer decides to fix stuff.

Well i am a hardcore PC gamer. Console gaming may be limited to a hardware maker deciding to release a machine, hence buyers essentially are dependant on a new release. With PC i am my own master, i dont think i would ever settle for a PC/console hybrid. Too much limitations and control in the console world imo.

I would disagree with that, GTA 4 on PS3 runs in sub HD and still barely manages 25fps. It also looks blurry on the PS3. Compare that to the game running on a PC sporting a 8800GTX and you will see the game looks last gen on the PS3. Hence i would agree with decrypt that the PS3s hardware indeed is weak.

Killzone 3 is 720p, while GT5 isnt full 1080p. Killzone is extremely linear, it has muddy textures and very little AA, by console standards that may be good however it will get blown by any multiplat shooter running on PC.
GT5 again is not Full 1080p. Also that game doesnt look good at all, a 4 year old game like Grid running on PC looks better.
Exclusives only if you combine all the consoles. Against any single console Pc holds up very well.
In fact as an example if you compare PC against any console:
VS Wii
Cant compare because PC emulates all Wii games.
VS 360
PC has more exclusives
Vs PS3
PC will probably tie in(will beat PS3 if you include the indie scene).

Console gaming is actually more expensive than PC gaming.
I personally built the following PC back in 2008.
I7 920
6 gigs ram
8800gtx (from my last build, was upgraded to 5870 in 2009).
The above setup would have costed me about 1200usd in total. However with 4 years of gaming on it, its paid back it self with all the cheaper games.
When the next gen consoles are out, all i will be doing is overclocking my CPU...

It was only console gamers getting hyped over BF3, they fell for the cut scene trick again. It was mostly the PC version which was being shown in game, console gamers thought the console version would be a huge leap in terms of graphics too, which didnt happen hence they were dissapointed.
If the PS3 did have so much power left over, We would have seen a big jump from UC2 to UC3, just like we saw a jump between UC1 and 2. Hence i do not believe this game will be a jump abov...
Yep i would hope both the communities get the option not to cross game, as PC gamers wouldnt like controlpad weilding players on their teams either, it would just put the team at a disadvantage.
I have personally stopped buying AMD hardware. I think Nvidia is just better because of the superior drivers, the little extra paid is easily justified by superior drivers, Physx, 3D vision.

Its called console gamers getting jealous that PC is an open platform and can be fixed by the community(if needed), while the console audience desperately waits for the developer to do something.
Why no PSP 1 support? that system had awesome games and people probably invested alot of money on those games and now being unable to play them doesnt sound right.

I dont own a console hence i cant really say however it may be the Xbox hardware limitations because of which they cant take full advantage of the Kinect.
Same situation is with 3D, watch as how it was most hyped on consoles yet consoles barely have 30 games that support 3D, While the PC may have near 600 of em.
Imo i think alot could be possible with the Kinect on the PC.
Whatever it is man, in the end its us the gamers who will benefit from this. More competition = bigger discounts = win win for all of us.
PC games have been so cheap to get specially because of these discounts i have more games to play then i can finish.

Lets just say when a SSD has been used and the same space is erased, the data doesnt really go away, it stays there. It later needs to be trimmed so that the data really goes away and the SSD maintains its performance. How do you intend to do that on a console lol. Please enlighten me. You would need to remove the SSD every few weeks ...
