@cjflora
Not including DX 11 or 3D, to run the game in 1080p and 60fps a 100usd GPU will be more then enough. Which will be still significantly ahead of the console version.
Personally i see BC as a big bonus for the PC too. The naysayer can say what they like, but when HD remakes are announced the same people get excited(just to pay a second time). Buying a game on PC today is not only cheaper but pretty much gauranteed to run for a very long long time. On ...
@dragon82
So why do PS3 fans get all excited for HD remakes running in 720p on PS3? that doesnt have to do anything with game play either.
Funny when another platform does stuff for free, which console gamers have to pay huge amounts of money for all of a sudden it gets flamed.
Sorry but i just think you are jealous of PCs superior backward compatibility and the ability to run mods.
Probably wait for about 2months will pick it up when its 15 usd on Steam or D2D.
Just read the article, when companies like EA are coming out and saying PC is their most profitable platform that says alot.
"EA pulled down $154 million in profits for PC, versus Xbox 360 ($152 million) and Playstation 3 ($111 million)."
This means PC is doing better then either console. Hell a game like Wow is trucking along with so many subscribers, it probably generates more revenue then any console game.
@Ju
Lol i find it funny that you actually mentioned this.
"And, it never worked. An open platform never worked for game developers. A scale-able platform simply does not allow you maximize the effort. The business case simply disagrees with you."
Of all the retarded comments you have made this one out does them all.
Tell us aside Nintendo who decided to go the route of casuals(and is now making losses).
Nvm Ju hes a blind console fanboy. Follower of the church of the cell lol. He will start throwing technical garbage that Sony used to promote their gimped tech back in 2006 and he will also act as if its cutting edge lol.
Buy on steam & D2D discounts problem solved :P
@ATi_Elite
Its funny but last gen when console gamers were asked why they dont like playing on the PC.
They replied "oh we dont like the long install times, Driver updates(firmware updates), Patches"
Now they have to go through the same stuff on the current consoles. Wake up people the only real console this gen is the Wii.
PS3 and Xbox 360 are locked down PCs very low end pcs at best. Where you need to pay royalty...
Price difference between a 6850 or 6870 is only 15-20usd i would recommend you get the 6870 its an awesome GPU and will play anything maxed out.
Why would anyone support a single organization owning too many studios is beyond me.
Why not have all studios multiplat so everyone wins.
More games for every platform PC, 360 & PS3
More chance of games getting sold for the devs
However i would insist every platform be taken advantage of. While PS3 and 360 have very small differences, its usually the PC platform that suffers the most when a game goes multiplat. Hence i support mul...
You would have to be a blind fanboy not to consider 256MB of ram a limitation. Lol even 512MB is very small. Before someone screams PS3 has 512MB of ram, yes we know it does however its split which is a huge limitation.
@Altair
Not buying games day one further puts the advantage in the PCs court, why?
Because console games dont drop in price quick enough, they stay high for a long period of time. PC prices on the otherhand drop fast and within 2-3months of release most games are already on discounts on Steam or D2D. Hence buying games not day one scews things further in the PCs favor.
What about BC? by the end of the gen you may have bought 1000's of USD...
@MC_Kool_K
Actually PS3 would have a hard time outperforming even a 2006 PC :) i know it sucks but its true. An 8800GTX with a dual core of that time will easily run 95% games today in 1080p, While PS3 only manages 5% of its games in 1080p. Hence if anything that needs an upgrade its the PS3 (too bad thats not an option) something console gamers generally dont have options :)
@QWERTYZ
Nvm some of the PS3 fans on this site, they are still wait...
I agree i personally wouldnt buy a game from retail ever again.
Specially prices of console games are out of whack, Steam FTW.
Only difference is Steam is actually good and people like to buy their games on Steam. EA are trying to stuff origins down our throat but too bad PC gamers generally dont bend over.
EAs policies are usually crap, i remember previously if you bought a game from their online store you couldnt download it after a year or so, with such crap policies and software no one wants to use, i would suggest EA try to win the hearts of gamers instead of trying to force their crap on us. ...
@nanosoldier
I personally have 3 friends all of whom are either on the 2-3 PS3 or Xbox 360, current consoles arent as reliable as the previous gen.
Well Console gamers may think they are getting the sweet end of the deal initially when it comes to costs, however in reality not only do they have to pay alot more for their games. If there hardware fails after the warranty period they have to replace the entire console.
If a DVD drive were...
lol have a look at the list, i see mostly PC and PS3 gamers. Anyways most PS3 gamers claim to have their fictitious rigs why not get the game on PC:P Its cheaper and superior.
Many multiplats once modded on PC offer a different experience on the PC then console. They almost turn out to be different games.
This year alone there have been great PC releases like:
Shogun 2
Dawn of war 2 retribution
witcher 2
upcoming games:
red orchestra 2
Battle field 3 (its there on console but its not really not the same at all, i would call it a PC exclusive).
t...
Actually its console gaming thats expensive. The initial cost to get a PC may be 300-400usd more then a console however it quickly makes up for that with all the cheaper games.
@lizard
Dude you can use any controller you like with the PC, it can be Xbox controller or the DS3 or any other aftermarket controller u like.
You dont really need to upgrade a PC once you build a proper one and with all the money saved on lower game prices you can virtually build a new high end PC every 2-3 years with that money (free hardware upgrade).
Console gaming is much more expensive then PC once you take into account all the extra yo...
