"and PC gaming isn't the utopia you're making it out to be... sure you could build a high-end PC for not a lot of money, but then you have to deal with hardware/software compatibility and all that other driver nonsense that can cause problems."
Lol dude, this isnt 1995 any more. In this day and age windows updates itself, there hardly ever are any crashes, Clients like Steam keep games patched and updated automatically. About the ...
Funny console fans are now getting excited over 4 year old tech.
4850 was mid range tech back in 2008, sure it was way more powerful than the PS3 or the Xbox 360, however it was strictly mid range. For todays standard, 4850 would get beaten by 100usd GPUs. Why would anyone in their right mind pay 300-400usd for such old tech. Specially when a PC for 500usd could be made with a GPU as new as a GTX560 (that is alteast 2 gens ahead of 4850).
Dont believe me chec...
@themastershake
No PC wont pay back his lost money, however its not like all the networks PC gamers can use to play on can go down at one time. Which significantly reduces the chances of something like this happening.
In contrast when PSN or XBL go down gamers are compeletly shut down from any sort of play.
@bitbydeath
PS3 was perhaps Sonys most ambitious attempt at making high end hardware. I dont think Sony will be repeating the attempt as it caused them tremendous losses. Infact they havent yet been able to recoup the losses even though the gen is about to end.
However even when we consider PS3 vs PCs of its launch time. PS3 was strictly Low to mid range in comparison.
PS3 used a 78XX series GPU which was significantly butched comapared to a ...
@shinmaster
Over a period of a console gen you probably end up buying thousands of usd worth of games. When a new gen comes you dont even know if the games you bought will work on the next box. With your entire library compromised, you have alot to lose.
Specially console makers are known to pull the plug on networks for console games. Which again limits the life of console games.
With PC you get to build a library. No such thing on console. ...
@guitar_nerd
I would disagree. PS2 came along way back, there are good chances most people who bought one dont have a functioning one anymore. Its the nature of electronics, if you dont use it then it does go bad.
Good luck trying to buy a PS2 just for the old games. Its hard to even spot one in the market these days. Even if you do manage to buy it, it will look ugly on the 1080p TV, not to mention it may be an old piece laying the market and may just go bad...
@Wizziokid
Please check the game out before making comments about fitting it onto a controller.
I bet you have no idea about the game and probably never have seen it running before passing such comments.
The game would require serious steamlining to make it fit on a controller, by which point it would become a BF or COD game.
They only claim not to care, when its the PC beating the consoles. In a console vs console comparison they will be cheerleading which ever platform they own. To the limit where most of them argue over minimal differences. go figure.
@gins
Lets mention the 20 other low res games that run in 1080p 60fps on console vs the 500 or so released games that run in 720p or below.
Games running in 1080p on console are a mere handful. The ones that do run in 1080p dont look good, No harm admitting that.
Lol next gen has been out there for a long time, its called Pc. Though will be funny watching Ms and Sony promote old tech as next gen. Actually both of them are pretty good at that lol.
@battleaxe
Agreed.
If anything its the USA that prints the most amount of money in the world and is hell bent on devaluing its currency.
Australia at the moment has among the lowest unemployment rate in the world, its about 5% at the moment. Most of the western countries like US, Canada, UK are all above 8%. Hell Europe is above 11% on Avg with Germany being stronger.
Bottomline is its the Austrialian taxes that are k...
@Nathan
It still doesnt change the fact that all online play on console is totally dependant on one network. It goes down there is nothing you can do online on the console.
@tarbis
You can play PC games offline too. Stop kidding yourself.
In general the point is consoles are so dependant on their manufacturer, there should actually be a demand for more freedom. It actually means at any point should they wish they can ...
Blizzard not being able to keep their network up doesnt mean everything else comes crashing down. There is a big difference here.
Blizzard network down, play something else.
PSN, XBL down, cant do anything.
"No one cares about ps gaming."
Lol. You need to check out:

Switching between PC and Current consoles shows a large difference between FPS. Most people dont really care.
I think most games on PS4 and Xbox 720 will probably be running at 30fps, because they will want to max out the graphcis capabilities. Which will either mean 60fps and ok graphics or 30fps and good graphics most devs will choose the latter. As most people are fine with 30fps.
Team Fortress 2 is possibly the most fun you can have online and its free lol. Love Steam.
@xboxhasnogames
GT5 is a racer, racing games by nature have static environments. All it has are cars running on a track. There is not much to render in it. Which is why it does manage 1080p and 60fps. Give us an example of a shooter that looks good and does the same even from Sonys own library.
I havent tried N64versions however it should be flawless.
Lol its just best to emulate them on the PC, instead of waiting and hoping that they do release a classic. I currently have the following games runnin on my PC via emulation:
WWF Wrestlefest (this is an arcade game)
WWF RAW (Snes version this one was amazing)
WWF Wrestlemania the Arcade (Arcade version or PC version via DosBox)
Plus you can emulate N64 versions if you like too.
All can be played with a Xbox controller or DS3 w...
