At least he can put his shirt on and nobody will know it's there. In 20 years nobody's going to know what that is.
For the most part I agree with you. Though I'm not sure it's a matter of being "tight". I'm willing to pay the price if the quality is there, but 95% of what's released isn't worth the media it's printed on, much less what new games cost these days.
At staying the same price games have gotten more affordable. I'd be willing to wager that people buy twice or three times the games they did back in the SNES days since the average gamer is mu...
I don't know if they're too expensive. But I do know that if new games were $20 cheaper I would buy a lot more of them. There's rarely a multi-plat that I'll pay full price for. I usually only pay that much for the really good exclusives.
I think if Alan Wake didn't sell well you can thank Alan Wake. It sure was hyped enough, and for longer.
I would be embarrassed to write a story like this, using incomplete numbers from vgchartz no less.
I doubt Alan Wake set the world on fire. It sure didn't set records, but this is ridiculous.
This person obviously never played a game in the NES era. These are not even close to the top 5 most frustrating moments in gaming.
#1 is the only reason on that list that was also on my list. I had my PS3 before any of those games released and I never use the web browser.
My list is:
#1 The exclusive games
#2 Blu-ray so that I can take advantage of my HD investment.
#3 OtherOS - I enjoyed tinkering with the PS3. Been developing software for 15 years and have always enjoyed messing with the consoles when I could.
That's how you have to do it. There have been times when I had to say that I just wasn't interested in what they were trying to sell me.
So the release information seems like it could be credible, but the pricing info is still in the realm of rumor. I'll wait for an official announcement. A Swedish gaming site isn't quite enough proof of anything for me.
Honestly, at this point I'm not all that worried about my 360. I've had it for a little more than 4 years and it still has another year of RROD protection on it thanks to the 2 year Microsoft service contract that I purchased when I bought it. I've had one RROD, which was 15 months after I bought it. Been going strong ever since. But if it RROD's after next May I'd pay $99 to get a refurb and keep going. Or just buy a new one outright if the prices are low enough. My game ...
I bought Mass Effect 2 on launch day and I haven't put more than 2 hours into it since. Too many great games have released! Looks like I need to get busy.
That's what happens when something is popular.
I've never ejected a disc from a slim PS3, only my 60GB model. Is it really that much more satisfying?
Nice! That was my biggest complaint about previous versions. I never felt like I was going the speed that the speedometer said I was. That and just bouncing off of walls isn't very realistic.
With this video GT5 is moving up on my list.
I enjoyed the story of the first. The gameplay was good, but it had some frustrating moments. Hopefully this game will improve on all of that.
And Rockstar is where the blame belongs. We all know that both 360 and PS3 are capable consoles. Tons of examples on each platform. Rockstar's decisions allowed the games to be different.
It's a shame, really. Because both versions are incredible from what I've seen. Different, for sure. But PS3 owners shouldn't be disappointed.
Let's be fair. Fanboys on both sides were total idiots when it came to Alan Wake. The Splinter Cell controversy was muted compared to the Alan Wake controversy. There were just as many sub-HD articles posted about Alan Wake as there are comparison articles about Red Dead Redemption. For 3 days the top stories were nothing but that. For a multi-platform game, look at Final Fantasy XIII. Nothing but how awesome the PS3 version was and how bad the 360 version was. The sub-HD stuff was flying...
Too funny! Bubbles for that.
I've been reading all of the articles about this, and I've been looking at the pictures and videos. Seriously, the PS3 version seems to hold it's own. Side-by-side with the 360 you can see differences. But on it's own I bet the game is fantastic-looking on PS3. I've only seen two people who said they wish they would have gotten the 360 version instead of PS3.
My reservation is for the PS3 version, but I haven't gone down to pick it up because I've ...
