Well, you are the first person to mention it in this article...
That's the point.
Both of these options are expensive if you ask me. How many people really have the PSEye? Move is really only the better deal if you only have one person playing. If you have a friend with you then you need to shell out for that second player.
I think that both Microsoft and Sony are crazy with these prices. At least with Wii the motion control came with it. For games like Brawl you could pick up a Gamecube controller for $15 from Gamestop if you wanted some classic control. ...
Oh look, another "let's just bash Microsoft" article.
To what market is Kinect targeted? All I've seen are family games so far, so is it families? If so I think that's the right market.
According to the comments I see here about Wii there's no way that the self-styled "hardcore" or "core" gamers want motion control. So what's the point of targeting them? They aren't the ones buying Wii's, and the &quo...
Does it matter how close it is to how Wii games are controlled? As long as it gives people what they want then Sony designed it well. What's going to matter is the software, not the hardware itself.
I'm curious to see if this will be successful at eating into the Wii's market share. Are people going to buy PS3 to be able to get this? I can't say for sure since it hasn't been released yet. But I'm curious to find out.
I like the redesign. I just wish that people would stop calling it "slim" because it clearly is not slim. It's only slightly smaller than the original model.
It's too bad the haters are showing up with the 360 bashing. I know that you like the PS3 better, and that's fine. But why spend time bashing any console? Go play the games you like instead.
Technically rumor instead of news because it was hearsay, but I have no doubt based on the first two that Uncharted 3 will be amazing. The graphics are a no-brainer and I'm curios about what the story will be.
Exactly! Forget the opinions, it's the games that matter. And Sony has buckets of games on the way.
If the community is truly unbiased then there is no such thing as a winner. To think that one is better than another is inherently biased. Then, just after you comment about how unbiased you are you launch into an anti-Microsoft rant.
I don't think you made the point you were hoping for. The article is clearly biased, but it is an opinion piece.
One opinion is no more valuable than another because at the end of the day opinions don't matter. Results ...
I'm not sure that hurt feelings are enough to justify failing a story. The author's opinion is clearly unpopular. But it is flagged as an opinion piece, and all it does is express an opinion.
I think some people around here need a thicker skin, that's all.
You can get one of those cables for like a buck on eBay.
I doubt I would ever need more than 250GB. But it would suck to have to pay for a proprietary one. Microsoft should have just done the right thing and made that enclosure so that you could easily swap the HDD with one of your own. I'd much rather have that 250GB HDD in my laptop and my laptop's 120GB HDD in the 360.
Maybe people really like their stuff?
:/
Has the retail packaging for Kinect been announced yet? I haven't seen anything official.
My guess is that Kinect is going to come bundled with Kinect Sports or some other minigame collection as a value add to offset the price. Just like the Move bundle is coming with a sports minigame collection.
At this point I'm not sure that pricewars is a valid game to be playing. Either way, though, I think the price for entry for either option is high.
Yes. Some models of HDTV can take several seconds to switch modes when connected via HDMI. There's a handshake between the hardware and TV to set the proper resolution. My guess is that it takes longer to switch modes than it does for the 2 or 3 second boot process.
My old Visio took more than 5 seconds, but the new Samsung takes less than 2 seconds.
My current 360 is more than 4 years old. It's loud and it uses more electricity. I'd get a new one to replace it just to cut down on the noise and energy consumption. HDMI would be nice, too. My Wii and 360 are on a two-way component switch and that's clumsy and unattactive.
Well, whether people like to admit it or not that appears to be the cost of entry based on the information available. If you don't have a PSEye it's looking to be as much as $130 USD to get Move up and going for one person, then $80 USD for each additional person.
I think that in a lot of cases that reason is VAT, import and other taxes that many countries like pile onto consumer goods that companies subsequently pass on to consumers. They get you coming and going.
Sounds more like EA fishing for a way to charge more for 3D content. If using 3D as a mechanism for charging customers more money is the way they want to go I think we'll see slower adoption. That is, unless 3D truly adds something compelling other than the gimmick of depth of field.
Hopefully it is reasonably priced. Not having an official price hasn't stopped the fanboy pricewars.
