This game looks like it is going to be good. It may be a bit too ambitious to be great, but so far it seems to be shaping up ok.

Forget the hype.

The core is the de facto standard for the 360 simply because all games must be compatible with it. In my opinion that's not all bad. Developers are forced to be innovative since they don't have an option to offload huge amounts of game data to disk. That doesn't necessarily limit the quality of the games, either.

Doesn't history tell us that hardware manufacturers revise components and reduce costs? And don't they always pass those savings along to broaden the installed base? What's the point in arguing over this? We're all bright enough to know that as time goes on console prices will drop. This fall the 360 will be two years old, so it is time for the prices to fall.

It really isn't an accurate comparison. I'm sure people are in a rush to get a PS3 before the price goes back up, and Microsoft doesn't have anything compelling releasing for a few weeks to get people to pick up sales of consoles. If a 360 price drop does happen I would expect to see a spike in sales similar to what happened with the PS3. Both systems have an awesome lineup this fall, and Sony's spills over into 2008.

Considering I bought my PS3 from Amazon.com. Nice to meet you.

Even still, more space used doesn't necessarily translate into more to do. In the 80's I used to play Missle Command for hours and hours on end and it was only a few kilobyes in size. Look at people that (still) play Pac Man for hours and hours and rack up a million points. That game runs on my cell phone now.

Any way you chop it up, disc space does not equal fun. Never will. It may mean prettier graphics and better sound, but a shallow game with great graphics and sound isn't ...

I wish that people weren't so hung up on disc space used as an indicator of the quality of the game. It just seems rediculous to me that people even care. "This game is awesome because it used xx gigs of disc space" is something that only a moron fanboy would say. I don't care if it uses 25 mb. As long as it is fun I'll be happy.

I don't disagree. After a couple of playthroughs of the demo the combat system becomes rather intuitive. I just hope that it doesn't become repetitive. I find God of War to be very repetitive, although overall it is a satisfying game.

I did see the combat similarities to Sigma, though. I think the enemy AI is better in the Heavenly Sword demo than it is in the early stages of Sigma. I don't mind the fighting as long as I am fighting to achieve something new like in Sigma. I kno...

PSN is a very good service. I especially like it that I can access my PS3 from my PSP anywhere I can find a wireless hotspot. That's huge in my opinion. I hope they keep adding features like that.

I think that TheMART, while a bit crass, makes some good comments. First, @idontcare, he isn't trying to get you to buy a 360. Also, the comment that it is a game console and not an internet console couldn't be more off. The online component to gaming is extremely important this generation, and after experiencing Xbox Live and the PSN, I would have to say that Xbox Live does online multiplayer better.

To me it is worth it to pay $50 for 13 months because the features are just...

Forum posts as news is getting pretty old. At least it is tagged as rumors.

I think that it is safe to say that the 360 has the best games in stores today, and I find it more fun to play games on because of that. With the release of NGS there are only 3 games on the PS3 that I find I really enjoy. After Q1 of next year I probably won't be able to say that any more. I wouldn't go using Heavenly Sword in any arguments yet, because the demo didn't feel all that immersive to me. It was good, though much too short.

If we're restrained to movies as a topic, ...

But DVD playback on the 360 is better over component than it is on the PS3. I think the color is just better. I found the PS3 to be grainy and washed out at 480p over component.

I've never seen the 360 play movies over HDMI, but I have seen the PS3 do it. And that's why the PS3 is now my main choice for a movie player.

I suppose it all depends on how you look at it. If you buy the PS3 just for games, and you're willing to pay the price no matter what it costs, then I suppose you do get a Blu-ray player for free. I think most rational people admit that the price tag of the PS3 is reflective of the technology inside, so in reality you're paying for that Blu-ray drive. It's all a matter of perspective.

Why do we argue this crap day in and day out? The high-def movie format battle has nothing to do with video games. If Blu-ray movies went away tomorrow the PS3 would still have games released on Blu-ray disc. HD-DVD is an afterthought for the 360 and has nothing to do with games.

If you're buying a game console with the sole intent of watching movies, something's wrong.

Since 1.4 million of the 1.5 million Blu-ray players in the US market is a PS3, I think it's pretty safe to say that Blu-ray wouldn't be where it is without the PS3. We've all fallen for the great Sony marketing experiment, and it has paid off for Blu-ray. I love the Blu-ray player in the PS3, but that isn't why I bought the system.

While we're on the subject, Best Buy here in town had a side-by-side comparison of Blu-Ray and HD-DVD last month during the grand opening. They wer...

So PS3 outsells 360 for two weeks and the 360 is dead? Wii outsells them both, so does that mean that PS3 is dead, too?

Doesn't matter what console it comes to, I'm covered. Bring it.

Wal-Mart uses odd pricing, and that photo shows only a dollar amount. The other photos on the page show a cents value.

I'm sure it's coming, but I don't think that's it.

The only wholesale-type places around here are Sams and Costco. If this place sells the volume that either of these do, then that's going to mean a lot.
