The video marketplace isn't that good. I've downloaded a couple of movies, but the time it takes to download just isn't worth it in my opinion. I don't think the bandwith is there yet for digital distribution.

I don't think that a true videophile is going to run out and buy a PS3 to anchor their setup just because of the way the box looks. Someone who wants a high-def player as the centerpiece of their A/V rig is going to buy a standalone player that has the features they want with a more traditional player-type look. The PS3, with its curves and shiny finish doesn't look like it belongs in an upscale A/V rig. It looks like a video game console.

High-def DVD isn't quite ready for pri...

Although the fanboys are sure to flame you, I happen to agree with you. Sony used the PS3 as a way to push Blu-ray into the market and secure their investment in the technology. Some portion of the added cost of the PS3 was certainly the result of putting Blu-ray in the box, but nobody knows for sure how much of the cost can be attributed to Blu-ray and how much belongs to other technology. Early adopters were certainly the guinea pigs, but it seems to have worked out well.

Calling it a trojan horse wasn't an insult. Sony did use the PS3 as a platform to get Blu-Ray into more homes. And it appears to be working.

But hopefully it is one step closer to ending this format nonsense. I just wish one or the other would go away.

It's good and controls well. Hopefully they get the framerate worked out and get rid of the screen tearing. Yeah, I'm not afraid to say I saw screen tearing in the beginning before she starts running across the ropes. I know I can't be the only one that noticed it.

I'm still getting this game, though. The demo is good.

If you don't care about the Xbox then you wouldn't care about this. I don't know why so many people think they have to change someone else's mind. Microsoft has made mistakes, they've acknowledged them. And now they are committed to correcting them. They're redesigning hardware and they're fixing broken consoles. That means something to people that own them.

One thing people need to learn about Microsoft. No matter what you think you know about that company, they don't enter a ...

That's the truth. Tech specs may be fun to argue over, but what really matters is games. If the specs were what was most important the 3DO would have done much better back in the day.

Most 360 games don't have screen tearing issues. Only a handful that I've seen have had an issue with it. That's not a 360 hardware issue, that's a developer issue. The developers are turning vsync off to tackle slowdown issues and a few games have ended up with tearing. GRAW and Saints Row being the worst, IMO. And it isn't just the 360. I've seen reports in some forums of Ninja Gaiden: Sigma having screen tearing issues when running at 1080p, so it happens. I've not seen it at 720p, but my ...

I hardly call something from the sonyprotectiongroup.com forums an article, much less news.

I agree about digital distribution. Downloading HD movies to the 360 takes a long time, and I have the fastest cable connection you can get. With speeds like that people aren't simply going to get behind broadband distribution. I would much rather pop a Blu-ray into my PS3. If the rumored HD-DVD player for $99 hits I'll pick one up just so I don't have to miss anything.

I'm more interested in content than technology. I think that Blu-ray movies are awesome on the PS3, but it seems to me that HD-DVD has more titles that appeal to me. It doesn't really matter to me which of the two wins. I just want all movies available to me, and that won't happen until someone bows out.

It'll be released. The execs would mortgage their grandmothers' souls, but they'll get this game out.

I just want this game.

Rockstar made their own success. Sony shouldn't get credit for that.

Then submit them as tips. No sense complaining about it here.

What's not to understand about fanboys? Their whole purpose in life is to be upset about something.

See #13 for supporting evidence.

I think that whining about losing bubbles is the quickest way to lose a few. That's just my opinion, though.

6890d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I can get behind that. Cut out all of the posturing and just release the games already!

They certainly do.
