And it took about 10 minutes to download and install the updates.
Can't wait for this!
They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. Too bad that's not my quote, because when talking about fanboys it is all too fitting. I don't know that I would call fanboys loyal consumers. More like parasitic, mouth breathing bottom feeders. Well, maybe that's a bit harsh.
I'm going to step out on a limb here and say that anyone who uses the terms "Xbot" or "Sony droid" or whatever when talking about another gamer is a the least common deno...
The sandbox genre is my absolute favorite, and Crackdown didn't disappoint me. In the sequel I would like to see a longer, more involved story and for your actions to influence the outcome of the story.
Seeing games like this make me happy I bought the PS3. I can't wait to get my hands on this.
I doubt anyone would read that huge wall of text.
I guess there were some in the supply chain that surfaced. I remember reading somewhere that there were still some out there somewhere. I don't think that $50 less than the 60 gig is all that compelling of a price point, but it is still a pretty good deal when you really look at it.
Rockstar will take advantage of the platform the game is on. Even though the story will be exactly the same, they're pretty good about taking advantage of the hardware that the game runs on.
Some people want a $300 price point because that's the most they can justify spending to play video games. It just isn't worth $400 or $500 to some people, and many people can't afford another hundred dollars because they may have other financial obligations.
Those people will just have to wait a bit longer for what they want. That's all.
At $499 it was more than worth it to me. I really wanted a Blu-ray player, and I know that ultimately there are going to be some awesome games on the PS3. Not to mention that I spent $498 on my 360 and the wireless adapter, so it's kinda hard for me to say the PS3 is too expensive for me at $499. What's another buck?
I'm very satisfied that I now have my PS3, my Wii and my 360. I get to play the best of each and I don't have to waste time in internet forums arguing about which ...
Microsoft's financial year is over. The estimated costs of the 360 repairs under the new RROD warranty are already paid for. That won't factor into future production at all, so you can't put that into your calucation. So any manufacturing efficiencies they achieve with revised hardware can be passed along to consumers.
A price cut is inevitable. That's just the way the game works. At some point sales slow because everyone willing or able to pay the price has done so.
Because the Dreamcast was one of my favorite systems. I still play it. At that time Sega was making killer arcade games and the Dreamcast was getting exact ports. Soul Calibur, DOA and Crazy Taxi still entertain me.
I find it sad that most of the people who bash on the Dreamcast probably never had one. Many of the people here are probably too young to really have remembered it. It died too young.
I wouldn't be surprised if he was being pushed out. Microsoft paid the money to own up to 360 problems and they are getting ready to release a hardware revision that should solve a lot of problems. I bet Microsoft wants a new face for its revamped hardware.
It has just hit a bump in the road. When they get the quality issues under control and drop the price you'll see it pick right back up again. After all, it took a price drop for Sony to get people to start buying their machine again. In fact, Sony's price cut was enough for me to get on board, even though the PS3 has very, very few quality games right now. Thank goodness it plays PS2 software.
But they also have a decent install base. There are probably several million 360's already in the pipeline and they are gearing up for a new hardware configuration.
Either way, it doesn't matter to me. I'm just looking forward to the new games this fall.
I saw at least 4 premiums and 10 elites in Best Buy just a little while ago. Heck, they even had Wii's.
Edit: Someone disagrees? Did you just run out to Best Buy and see what they had left?
DVD upscaling over component. I bought an HDMI cable, so I'm ok there. But I don't understand why the PS3 doesn't upscale over component when you can buy a $80 upscaling DVD player that will.
So how is $14.7 billion of net income on revenues of $51.12 billion losing money? I don't get that? They didn't make as much as they would have if the entertainment division broke even, but they still added $14.7 billion of net income to the bottom line.
You should really explain how Microsoft lost money.
But games are software. Microsoft Game Studios actually releases some good stuff. The 360's software is actually quite good. Sony's recent releases, in my opinion, are pretty lackluster. MotorStorm is fun, but it needs more tracks.
What Microsoft are not is a hardware company, which is quite evident. Sony's a damn fine hardware company, and I'm loving my PS3. I just wish it had more games. They're coming, though!
Apparently you don't go into the 360 news comments very much. I would say that there are an even number of stupid flamers on each side and they show up practically everywhere.
