Best Buy and Target here had them. 5 at Best Buy and 2 at Target. All 5 at Best Buy were the new models with HDMI. Two of them at Target were with HDMI, two were without. One strange thing I noticed is that the new box appears to be just a bit smaller than the old one. The Elite box was also a bit smaller than the old 360 box. I guess they found a new way to pack them.
I may go to Best Buy at lunch just to see if they have any.
Companies are very protective of pricing information because of the competitive advantage their ads give them. What's funny, though, is that all of the retail stores typically have the same prices anyway. I haven't watched the podcast, though.
Doesn't matter to me which it appears on as long as it comes back!
There's no way Apple is going to try to hit mainstream PC's head-on. They have their core audience, and they have their strengths in publishing and digital imaging.
It is going to take more than adding a spreadsheet package to a productivity suite, that's for sure. Until there is an even amount of entertainment software available Mac's and PC's the PC is going to maintain its dominance in the marketplace. It's definitely not a Windows versus MacOS thing any more.
I think including a full game is more effective than a demo disc, especially when demos are so readily available online. If it were me I would have picked something better than Table Tennis or Top Spin 2. That doesn't seem like a lot of incentive to me.
When the PS3 price dropped Amazon was giving away a free bluetooth remote and a free Blu-ray movie. That was a $45 value alone.
So anyone saying a sales spike on Amazon for the 360 isn't legit because of an extra $20 off needs to keep the PS3 freebies in mind.
I guess since that's technically a possibility. It would probably have to be a Linux workstation, but that's ok.
The Cell was designed with several purposes in mind. I think that it would be an injustice for such a processor to only be used for video games. I remember reading a year or so back that Sony was thinking of creating medical imaging devices based upon the PS3's chipset. Looks like they may be following through on that now.
I wonder how many dudes are going to have female avatars?
No doubt.
I'd be surprised if many studios were making any money from Blu-ray and HD-DVD. Neither format is selling tons of discs right now. There have only been a couple of movies that have done really well.
This game is really looking good.
The 2600 and 5200 versions were both bad, but for different reasons.
And once again, out comes a list of future games. You guys really need to relax. You also need to quit posting game lists in every single thread. Honestly, nobody's talking about The Getaway and Eight Days. While I'm sure they'll be good, there's no sense in trying to change the subject.
The truth is that the 360 is getting exclusive DLC. You can hate that as much as you want to, but it doesn't change much. My hope is that Sony wrangles some exclusive DLC of their own. GTA on P...

I paid the same amount for my Premium 360 and wireless networking adapter 15 months ago, so $499 was something I was willing to pay. Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed with the selection of available games. Please don't give me a list of what's coming, because I already know.
I am happy about the movie playback the machine offers. The DVD upscaling is the best I've seen so far and I like Blu-ray movies as well.
I suppose I'll pick whichever is better.
Microsoft's shareholders aren't outraged by Microsoft's entertainment division's losses. As long as the company as a whole is making money then Microsoft is fulfilling its fiduciary responsibilities.
One thing that some people don't understand is that Microsoft doesn't enter a market to lose. They can tolerate losses in the short term to get a larger piece of the market later. It is the same pattern they follow when they enter any market. Microsoft will be profitable with their...
PC is hardware, not Windows. If you don't like Microsoft software there are at least a dozen desktop Linux distros out there for you to try.
And honestly, it isn't like you say it is. You can configure your PC or Mac virtually millions of ways. What you put into it is completely up to your needs, much like buying a car. Need a workhorse? Dual-core 64-bit CPU. Want to send email and surf the web all day? Celeron laptop. Want to make your own movies? Mac Pro all the way.
