Isn't it something how a "generic" FPS is so massively successful? It would seem to me that reality says that you are incorrect. A "generic" game doesn't achieve this kind of success.

40 characters is a plus, but I hope they mix up some of the moves and combos a bit. I would hate to boot it up and be playing Tekken 4 again.

I never complained about Madden running in 30 FPS. I don't think that it detracted from the mediocrity of Madden 2008 in any way.
Does it affect your gaming experience? Or would you never had known if someone didn't let the drama llama loose on it?

It never should have gone away. With HDTV's there is more screen real estate than before, so there's no reason to not have it.
