I remember how much I loved Rygar on the NES. Hopefully this is a good update to the game.
It's probably just stock of the original 20 gb model that they never sold. If Sony had started manufacturing that model again I'm sure we would have heard about it.
That's a lot of disc space. If true then it is going to severly limit sales of this game.
Looks like Microsoft's involvement in HD-DVD is a little deeper than "we released the HD-DVD add-on because our customers asked for it".
I used to use my Xbox 360 as a DVD player because of its great progressive scan and DVD playback capabilities. But as soon as the HDMI cable for my PS3 arrived I haven't watched another DVD on the 360. I like the PS3's DVD upscaling capability and it makes newer DVD's look great on my HDTV. I would go as far as to say that it rivals broadcast quality HD for some movies.
The selection of HD movies is getting better, and I can't see spending the money on a stand-alone player righ...
People want great content at an affordable price. Finding the correct mix of those things will be what makes the difference.
I absolutely agree.
Keep in mind that consoles don't use RAM like a PC does. A PC is a multi-purpose machine, so it needs RAM and CPU cycles for ancillary tasks that consoles do not. Modern PC operating systems are a huge overhead burden, so a large portion of a PC's RAM is taken up dealing with that.
The 512 MB of RAM that modern consoles have is not a limitation like it would be for a PC.
I think that you make a good point. The flaming fanboys always talk up Blu-ray and how it is going to allow developers to make bigger games and larger maps, but here is a game where that extra capacity does nothing to help the problem.
As for performance, is Epic porting to the PS3 from the PC? Or did they build it from the ground up for PS3?
I enjoyed reading that.
Why would anyone expect Microsoft to mention the Wii in their marketing campaigns? I don't see how that lessens the achievement of selling nearly 12 million consoles in a two year time frame. If the 360 or PS3 would have been priced at $249.99 they would have hit 10 million in the first year, too.
Did you count them all yourself?
Thompson's just a media whore who wants to be on television. Hopefully he loses his law license soon so that he'll just go away.
My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Halo 3 Legendary Edition pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
In all seriousness, any particular shipment could have been damaged. Who knows what kind of abuse the package went through during shipping.
The Wii won't be canned in 2008. That's the craziest thing I've read all day, and there's a lot of crazy around here.
I imagine that a lot of companies do try to avoid releasing their games around the same time as a major blockbuster. I wouldn't want my game hitting the shelves at the same time Halo 3 does. Also, if Halo 3 moves a lot of systems this holiday it could make a huge difference for a developer with limited resources when trying to decide what platforms to release games on.
As a PS3 owner I would like to see Sony start shifting attention away from the PS2 and onto the PS3. I know that the PS2 is still a big seller, but the message I'm getting is that the PS2 is still more important. I'm ready for Sony to start weaning itself from the PS2 so that it can put the PS3 into the limelight.
I don't know that I can get on board with this being the year of the PSP. They redesigned the hardware, but the handheld that could is still missing great games. There are a lot of good games for the PSP, but not many great ones. I wish Sony would take PSP software more seriously.
And I think that 3 platforms is one of the things that holds the PS3 back. Why would someone buy one when it appears that so far this year most of the great releases have been on the PS2? I know that ...
I think that in general console manufacturers have taken the emphasis off of gaming in this generation. I can see marketing a console as a media center, because the PS3 and 360 are capable of it. It widens the appeal a bit. It's just that the core audience of a console is more interested in games first, media second.
If past R&C games are any indication, then this game will be great.
One thing that bothers me about this particular submission is that a point is made to show how much space the game takes up on the disc. What does that have to do with the quality of the game? I've played lots of games on DVD9 that were awesome. I've played games on Blu-ray disc that were horrible. Disc size has nothing to do with how good a game is.
