LCD screens tend to dim somewhat as they get older. And LCD technology has come a long way in the last couple of years.
I don't see why it should be a surprise to anyone that the new models have a sharper, brighter display than the older models.
And I understand that the only reason that Sony has such a killer 2008 lineup is because those are all of the games that got pushed back from an initial 2007 release window. Name a single Q1 game that is being hyped that was intended to be a Q1 game.
Yep, Microsoft was so intent to follow Sony this time around that they launched a year before the PS3 and as a result have a larger user base, a lower price point, more games and better third-party support.
Sounds more like a leader than a follower to me.
I guess that some people believe that the higher the resolution is the more fun the game is. Or something like that.
This is the stupidest flame war I've seen in a while. Good job.
Nice copy and paste. Good job.
I'm surprised that they put so much thought into it.
I think that for me it seems like development shops are trying to shoehorn traditional types of games into the Wii's control scheme. More often than not it doesn't work and the Wii starts to gain a bad reputation for poorly controlling games.
Maybe developers aren't creative enough to do something new and fresh on the machine. It just seems like they have lost the ability to think abstractly and to innovate. They have the perfect platform for innovation, in my opinion. Nintendo...

It doesn't make the 360 look inferior, no matter how much you want it to. The PS3 is great hardware. But the lack of 1080p games are not a reflection on the hardware, it is a reflection on the developers.
Just give it up nasim. Your one post per article isn't going to kill the 360. It's a good system with great games. If you don't like it then fine. Just let it go already.
This is so NOT interesting. Most people don't have TV's that can support native 1080p, so the PS3 probably has to downscale more than the 360 has to upscale.
Nice attempt at flamebait. Looks like the minions are going to eat it up.
I don't think that Halo 3's single player is all that great, either. Multiplayer is really good.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the 80gb model go away, too. This 40gb model makes the most sense to me. Strip out everything that's not needed, consolidate the hardware, and drop the price. I would expect any hardware revisions that have been made to the 40gb model's motherboard to eventually become standard.
Think about it, SCEE's press release said that at this point people aren't buying the system for backward compatibility. They aren't using the card readers. They don't nee...
Who even knows if there will be another GTA? How many more can they pull from the formula?
360 or PS3...doesn't matter to me.
This isn't exclusive to PS3. You get the 5 Blu-Ray discs no matter what Blu-Ray player you buy.
I'm guessing that the 40gb model contains a completely redesigned motherboard. I can't wait until someone takes one apart and posts pictures.
I don't mind the time it takes to install as much as the amount of disk space it takes. If you have a lot of games a 60 gb hard drive almost isn't enough unless you keep deleting the game data. Then you have to re-install it the next time you want to play.
The list of titles actually changed. I like the new list better than the old one.
It's probably just a new bundle for the holidays.
Seeing as I own all three, I really hope that all three of them do well. The PS3 and Wii are just starting to see the good software hit the shelves and Xbox is firmly established. I've picked up Heavenly Sword, Halo 3 and Metroid Prime 3 in the last couple of weeks and it has been a phenominally good time.
I really do want the PS3 to improve its sales so that more games will be released for it. It looks like Europe is the battleground that Sony is choosing to fight for increasi...
