I don't know about security risks, but a poorly programmed gadget can be a resource hog. Even the out-of-the-box RSS aggregator can be a pain if the internet connection that fuels it goes down.
So far I'm not liking Vista. Hopefully the service pack that we all know is coming will do something about resource issues.
That was pretty funny.
This type of article typically doesn't do too well. The only relation that it has to gaming is the fact that the console was stolen, and that will always garner "Lame" reports.
It really is too bad that so many of the PS3's killer franchised got pushed to 2008. I don't know if Halo 3 and Mass Effect would have been able to pull Microsoft through against those titles.
I agree. I think that the machine could lose the card readers, but I don't know what else could go. That and 40gb of HDD isn't enough to justify the price difference, though, unless the 80gb version keeps its packin.
I just want to play games. I don't need the extra clutter that comes with them, much less pay extra for it.
But some people do, so I sincerely hope they enjoy the added bonuses of the special packages.
There must have been some consoles held up in customs or found sitting in a warehouse somewhere. This is the second website that has started offering the system again.
Awesome! Bubbles for you!
Anyway, what can Microsoft really do as a sanction? Not let them sell any more copies of Halo? That wouldn't be helpful to Microsoft.
I like the multimedia capabilities of the current consoles. They really do blur the line between a games machine and a media hub.
Raytracing is nothing new. I remember buying shareware programs 15 years ago that did raytracing in standard VGA. I realize that as technology has become more sophisticated so have raytracing algorithms, but I wonder what it is that makes it so difficult for the current generation of consoles? Is it that the games are raytracing in realtime instead of using texture-mapped polygons?
Too bad there's really nothing new to see here. I was hoping for something more real.
Sneaky!
No kidding...
The story has been changed to a link with more information. Very interesting stuff.
Does this mean that in addition to curing cancer the PS3 also prevents earthquakes?
Scratch that...it looks like it is going to find more oil and solve the world's energy crisis.
Unless you can let go of your abnormal fanboy Xbox hatred and be objective you're just going to be another one of those game snobs.
Good luck with that.
Electronics Boutique. I bought my SNES from an Electronics Boutique.
No, a Blu-ray disc "can" give you 270% more content. But we're seeing that so far that isn't the case. Heavenly Sword is a good example. It is a great game, but the extra storage doesn't make for 270% more game. And with UT3 reportedly having fewer maps than the PC version we have yet another example.
I think that so far people are not getting more for their money.
I imagine that most people don't want to register just to read it, which makes me question why the story was even ever approved. But it does say this on that page:
"Michihiro Sasaki, senior vice-president, told the Financial Times it was imperative that the games maker increase its share of the US gaming market, the world’s fastest-growing, to counterbalance stagnant demand in Japan."
It would appear that while US and European gamers are still quite ena...
There are still 60gb models floating around. They aren't all gone yet.
