Looks to me like Microsoft made it right. ForceTrainer was satisfied with the outcome, at the least. Not that the armchair quarterbacks are going to let it go, though.
I'm really looking forward to this game!
Demand remained flat because Microsoft shot themselves in the foot by announcing the 60GB model at the same time they dropped the price of the 20GB model. Who in their right mind would buy a 360 right now? I know I would wait it out and get the better gear when the price ultimately falls.
People saying that the PS3 will never be hacked are just fooling themselves. Now that Blu-ray burners are becoming more economical it is just a matter of time before someone figures out how to hack the firmware to allow burned discs to play on the machine. You can get a dual-layer burner from Newegg that burns 50GB discs:

Reports of Japanese anxiety over RROD are really only anecdotal considering there really aren't many reports, stories or articles about the subject. The main anxiety is attributed to Microsoft being an American company and Japanese loyalty to Japanese products. And even that is anecdotal because nobody really knows for sure.
Microsoft has dealt with the RROD issue sufficiently enough for people that really own 360's. The people who really continue to complain about the problem a...
Would it be too much to ask to put a driver in the car? It's pretty weird to knock your door off and see nobody driving the car at breakneck speeds. A small gripe, to be sure.
It's a pretty cool hack.
It's still a pretty interesting hack. I wouldn't install it on my Wii, but I can see why someone would want to take on the challenge of making it happen.
Price is a factor, I agree. But I think the biggest factor is the game library. Microsoft's had a year jump on Sony and it shows. Sony is starting to gain ground, but it's been slow considering their problem this gen with hanging on to exclusives.
I'll have to try the trial version.
Is aspect ratio what determines whether a game is HD?
As long as RROD is fixed for free why would someone buy another 360?
These numbers are posted so that fanboys can come and argue over them. It happens every week.
Removing features is irrelevant in the public's eye? Not hardly. In many cases Sony is losing new sales to people seeking out used models with B/C. Not to mention that these huge price cuts now have it sitting at the launch price of its main competitor.
At the price of current consoles the PS3 and 360 are still geared toward luxury and hardcore players.
There's no way you can ask everyone and the more people you do ask the longer it takes and the more expensive it is. So most studies use a "representative sample" to come up with their numbers. Practically every scientific study is done that way.
Blu-ray isn't setting the world on fire. And it won't as long as DVD is cheaper and still looks good on HDTV's. I have a PS3 and most of the movies I buy are on DVD because the PS3 is so good at upscaling. I have a 46" 1080p tv, so Blu-ray does look good. But it isn't something I have to have.
One thing that I think is happening this time around is that people are buying PS3's for their ability to play Blu-ray movies. People, by and large, didn't buy the PS2 to be their prim...
He always has the option of a lawsuit. I know that people tend to sue too much, but in this case it seem warranted to me as these people actually incurred damages due to the negligence of the retailer.
I don't know why people have their panties in a knot over this article. What about it is wrong? They make the point about the PS3 being the costliest game console that Sony has created. They made the point that Microsoft has probably lost as much, if not more.
This didn't read as an attack article to me. It just explains what everyone already knows but doesn't want to admit. Sony still has time to turn it around.
