rhood is correct.
I hope it doesn't end up like Facebook. I think that Facebook is the absolute worst example of a Web 2.0 website ever.
I don't think that dedicated servers really make that big of a difference. I've never had issues playing games on XBL due to lack of dedicated servers. I've actually had bigger issues on PSN with latency over the same wireless network that I use when I do play on Live.
The other thing is that Home isn't a response to Live at all. Home is not a network like Live or PSN. Home is an application that runs on the PS3 that uses PSN. I wish people would stop saying that Home is a respon...
It's been nearly 23 months, right? If you round up that's two years I guess.
I actually like PSN. For the little bit of online gaming that I actually do I think that PSN fits the bill nicely. For the most part there's decent voice chat in-game, which is really where I want it anyway. I'm still able to communicate with my Live friends via the Xbox dashboard even though my Live account has downgraded to Silver.
I didn't think that Microsoft was completely revamping Live with the NXE. I thought that it was mainly just a new layer on top of the same service. And I never thought that it made much since to directly compare Home with NXE, because they're not really the same thing.
I could be wrong, so please enlighten me if I am.
What is it with the Kotaku obsession? And what is it with people spamming N4G to push their blogs and agendas?
I really tried to read it. But it is clear that it is little more than a rambling rant. It is full of conjecture, such as saying that Microsoft closed Ensemble so that they would have enough money to get Tekken 6 to come to the 360. Has that been confirmed anywhere? And saying that Microsoft was immoral in obtaining its third-party lineup but not providing any evidence ...
For a country of approximately 130 million those numbers seem quite low across the board. I guess Nintendo is doing better than anyone else, but the Japanese are such large electronics nuts that I'm surprise they're not buying more.
Why would you deny yourselves awesome games by not getting multiplats? You'd miss great stuff like Burnout Paradise.
Wait. The article says that it requires a 256 MB memory card, but it doesn't say that it uses 256 MB. I have 12 gig free on my Premium 360, so it really isn't an issue for me.
Honestly, though, I'm not really looking all that forward to this update.
Yeah, that's a great bargain. If it were an option here I would have preordered that instead.
This is a great idea!
Bubbles from me as well. Good comment.
Agreed.
The 360 has been in the market since 2005, so it has kept pace with what I believe are normal, cyclical price cuts. Once all of the people who are willing to buy for X price have bought one then it is time to drop that price.
I think Sony reached that max threshold a bit quicker because of their high prices from the outset. I wasn't going to pay $599 for a 60gb PS3, but I was willing to pay $499 when I found out that features that were important to me would b...
That's a good point, Death. Bubbles for you.
I think that there's sufficient proof that, for now, the price drop is working in Microsoft's favor.
These sales increases are encouraging. The more consoles there are in the market the more games developers make.
Wii is wiping the floor with everyone.
I don't think that fighting games are getting old. The success of Soul Calibur 4 and its 1.5 million copies sold proves that. They don't make enough fighting games these days in my opinion. Soul Calibur was the only good fighting game since DOA4 this generation.
The age of the exclusive isn't over. On the contrary, the exclusive is more important than ever now. It is now up to the console manufacturer to produce the exclusives themselves. Without exclusives there's no need for multiple hardware vendors, meaning the person with the lowest price will win.
That's as funny as the PS3-only gamers who were once saying it could never happen are now saying that Tekken really isn't that big of a deal. Attitudes sure do change when there's confirmation of a rumor, don't they?
I'm glad I have both. That makes my only decision which version I should buy.
I'm glad that in this global economy that people are still buying consoles. With a country like Japan with a population of 130 million people it seems as though the numbers for most of the platforms are rather dismal.
The 360 bundles for the U.S. look encouraging though. These companies are finally figuring out that bundles equate to value in the minds of consumers.
