If mine ever goes I'll pay the $150 to have it repaired by Sony. I can live without it for two weeks and I don't want to lose that backward compatibility. Apparently I'm the only person that uses it regularly, but since I do it's cheaper than a new PS3 and a new PS2.
Sales are what decide whether your favorite franchise continues to live or withers on the vine. While quality is king, sales are what it takes to keep the games coming. Sad, but true.
Believe it or not, God of War III is catering to a much smaller market than Halo: Reach. The Hack 'n Slash/Adventure market is much smaller than the FPS market. I wouldn't be surprised to see God of War III strain top out at 4 million or so while Halo: Reach will go on to move more than twice that. With a 100 million install base God of War II didn't even crack 3 million units sold.

I don't know about anyone else, but my most anticipated Xbox 360 title of 2010 is Mass Effect 2. And that's sad, because it releases this month. I can't think of anything else on any system I'm really looking forward to beyond that.
As far as Shenmue goes I'd be happy with a book or something that let me know how the story ended. I'd like a game, but just tell me what happens with Ryu and Lan Di.
Nothing like comparing an apple to a firetruck. Based on the history of each franchise I think that Halo: Reach is going to sell much more than God of War III. Halo: Reach and Gran Turismo 5 will probably see closer sales totals if Reach is a true Halo game and not a rehash for quick cash.
People complain that GameStop is evil, but they sure don't stop shopping there. Personally I've never been screwed over by them, so I don't have any beefs.

Nothing is future-proof. Not a single-thing. And Microsoft never marketed the 360 that way, so I don't know if anyone really expected more than 6 years or so out of the hardware.
It's kind of sad that so many people actually bought Sony's line that the PS3 is future-proof and that there wouldn't be any need for another console for at least 10 years. I really don't care if Microsoft buys exclusivity. If they feel that's what will keep them competitive then so be it. Just because Sony refuses to do it doesn't make it wrong. It just makes Sony lose exclusives.
I bought Metroid Prime 3 and it's ok, but I wish we'd get a Metroid more like the original or like Super Metroid. I can deal with 3D if it's third person, but I don't care for the first person shooter feel of Metroid Prime.
Ok, I might like a 72" TV. Vizio looks to be coming on strong with their sets. I'm a bit annoyed that I'm starting to have trouble with my 2 year old 46" Vizio. Mostly because you can't really find an authorized service center and there's no way I'm paying to ship it to California.
I'll see if I can get a better extended warranty on my next TV, but I doubt it will be a Vizio.

Those pictures look good, but I'm not sure realistic is the right word. GTA has never been as much about flashy graphics as it has been about open worlds and freedom of movement. I wouldn't expect that the next game in the series will mess with that formula very much.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii is an excellent game in my opinion. Sounds like someone has their nose out of joint that the Wii is spanking everyone else in this generation without the high-dollar flash that the other consoles have. Guess HD graphics really aren't everything.
