What's sad is Sony trying to control the media around this game, and they did try to do it with Lair. Which was another mega-hyped PS3 exclusive. That game fell on its face, despite Sony trying their best to salvage with PR.
Tell me which games you can get an accurate interpretation of with just a few hours of playtime? There's nothing to indicate that the game will get better the more you play it. There's nothing to indicate that it will get worse the more you play it. So to vig...
Asking a legitimate question in yet another huge gripe thread? The only reason for all of the fuss is that Sony said reviews weren't legitimate, and we all know that we must think exactly how Sony tells us to, right?
Sounds like the same kind of thing they pulled with Lair when they told the press that they reviewed it incorrectly and sent out the "how to review our game" packet.
I hope the game is good and that the people who buy it enjoy it. I'm not an FP...
Journalists sensationalize.
Reporters report.
Journalism is what's wrong with news.
Microsoft knowingly allowed? As in they gave explicit permission? I don't think that not taking action sooner is granting implicit permission.
Anyone can sell anything they want to as long as it passes government requirements, which are different depending upon what you're selling.
The question you probably should have asked is why people are buying the hardware if it is shoddy. But that's not the common perception in the market, obviously, or it wouldn't still be selling.
Foxgod, you don't need to justify yourself to anyone. Especially here. These guys just don't understand that the only difference between fanboys is the system they defend. Most are not even worth dignifying with a response.
You haven't been doing this very long, then.
I guess people really can argue over anything. This isn't the first time a game has released with no reviews on release day. It probably won't be the last.
I hope Microsoft puts forward a good year for Xbox. Because 2009 was the worst so far in my opinion.
Lame article, but the comments here are funny.
I think it's funny to see all of the "uncompressed this" and "more space that" when there aren't really that many games actually taking advantage of all of that extra space for anything meaningful. How many PS3 games actually have 100% uncompressed audio? And not just the background music streamed from the disc while playing. 100% fully uncompressed audio for everything? Good luck figuring that out.
Sure, games FF XIII will feature some (*some*) uncompressed a...
I'm thinking the insecurity isn't with those who own a 360. Have fun with those installs, because people will be playing the game on the 360 before you ever see a title screen. They won't have time to feel insecure because of all of that extra time they'll be spending playing and not watching an install progress bar.
Oh, the same old tired argument. Not sure why so many people who don't own an Xbox 360 even care, but I guess they don't have any games on their console of choice to be playing right this moment so all they can do is troll on the internets.
Why is this a big deal? Really? Every person who plays disc-based games on consoles switches discs all the time. I don't understand why it is the end of the world if you have to switch a disc halfway through a game if you're already switching ...
Did you think about that before you typed it? Putting games on more than 1 disc causes content to be cut? Seriously? Why would they cut content when they've decided that they need more than one disc to hold the content? I'm really struggling with that logic.
I think that it's funny when people get smug and think that switching to a Mac or to Linux will keep them safe. Those operating systems have vulnerabilities every bit as dangerous as what you'd seen on Windows, and just because someone manages to run an different OS doesn't automatically make them not do stupid things online.
Not yet anyway. It has been my personal experience that it's best to not pull out the "well mine is still working fine" line, because that's going to make the pill that much more bitter when you finally have to swallow it. I know it was when it happened to me.
I loved my PS2 despite the hardware problems I had. But I pretty much stopped playing games on mine once the Xbox released. There were a few exceptions, but I loved me some Xbox.
For a minute there I thought this was going to be the damage control response to the earlier article about how after nearly 4 years Sony was still losing money on PS3. I'm happy to be pleasantly surprised for once.
Not sure I really agree, but I see your point. For what you get out of the box the Wii isn't really all that bad of a deal. Right out of the box you get everything you need to connect it to your television and start playing Wii Sports. So unless you want to play simultaneous multiplayer there's no need to buy anything else.
When I bought mine I chose to buy a second controller and nunchuck and a component cable so that I could run in 480p instead of 480i. But is that different th...
Oh you nutty conspiracy theorists thinking that Microsoft buys all of this positive press. Microsoft hasn't paid time to give Mass Effect 2 high praise. BioWare has just done that good of a job. But if you need some more tin foil for your hat let us know. We might be able to help you out.
