Rental at best, some reviews are as low as 6/10, like: http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...
Apparently there are a lot of gameplay types mixed, so even a demo might be misleading.
@7.4 definitely it is worth the extra money to get an HDD with choosing the Elite instead. It's just a case where if money is an issue, then starting with an Arcade is better than not having a 360 at all.
@7.2, from his comment he is considering buying a 360. I do not him personally but I assumed that it meant he currently doesn't own one.
I've seen this kind of comment often, when a new Halo comes, a new Gears comes out, etc. of people saying they are now considering buying a 360; my comment is that it is easy to justify buying a 360 if you give up on buying a few less than stellar multiplatform games for the console you do own now (be it PS3 or Wii).
I posted this before but given your comment I'll repost it here:
The cheapest way to get to enjoy the 360 exclusives is to get an Arcade ($199) and then rent the best 360 exclusives. In my opinion it is well worth it to spend $199 to get access to a few great games rather then buy ~3 average or mediocre multiplatform games; which most single console owners end up doing easily over the life of a console.

I agree with your analogy, retro gaming is like going to a museum. I like to look at old things, reminisce fondly about it if I was alive back then or ponder how it allowed current products, and then I go back to my real current life.
For example I can admire an early model car but I have no desire to go and drive one today.
The same with retro games, I can look and reminisce about them, but I never got into the nostalgia craze of spending time (and money) replaying...
I agree with you, given reviews I thought it would be better than this. Maybe people had low expectations due to the first one or maybe some people didn't have anything better to play.
As far as sandbox games go it's quite 'meh' as you say. It has tons of stuff to do but it's so generic and repetitive that it is mind numbing. Just my opinion.
I would add Jeanne d'Arc to that list and as stated above, GoW:CoO. I also thought that Daxter was better than Ratchet on the PSP.
I agree, this article seems to jump the gun and go overboard with being over defensive. Overall I've seen more positive articles and posting of people showing interests than negative ones and as you point out they are not even negative ones but more just asking questions.
Besides the issue many of you have pointed out, about this practice being in poor taste and coming from non-real gamers, I wonder why though the mods on this website can't just permanently remove an account with such a name and all the posts associated with it including the headers. Just blanking out the content as reported as spam but leaving up the account name that includes the spoil is useless.
I agree with 1 and 1.2, a second thumbstick would open up all 3D games to have better controls and better controls means more fun. A lot of PSP games got rated poorly not because of the graphics or the game itself but because of the controls. Then after not being able to make the games they wanted, many developers just walked away.
If Sony wants to make a handheld for the core gamers' market, they will add a second thumbstick. If they choose instead to go touchscreen\tilt sens...
If there is one thing that companies in gaming should have learned by now is that having or not having a head start can make a difference in the mindshare of consumers but also very importantly mindshare of developers.
If Sony wants to stay in the handheld gaming business, they have to release a new PSP at the same time as the new DS.
It is based off an interview with a Japanese Playstation magazine, so at least PS3 or PSP.
@1.3 I actually kept the game for a short while, convinced that they would release a regular control patch quickly. Then I gave up and traded it in.
Making it optional is great, I hope they do so for all traditional games, they don't want to make a Lair-type mistake. (I know Lair's control choice was fixed later, much later, too late in fact)
It makes sense, I'm sure they had to make some compromises for the 360. So they are probably working on an even better version to go with the 720\1080 or what their next console will be called.
It would explain the rumors of the new handheld having tilt sensors, it would make it easier than to rely on the camera to detect orientation.
Well E3 is still 3 months away, so plenty of time for leaks to spring out...
Also, not sure why people say we don't know anything. We know Move will be a big part of it, we also know that Sony will be pushing 3D TVs a lot and use gaming once again as they did with Blu-ray to push the agenda, we know GT5 is coming, etc.
I'm not saying there won't be any surprises but I think we know half of the presentation already.
Well a console maker and their first party studios lead by example. If Nintendo and their first party studios don't make mature games, it reinforces that they don't want to cater to that market; in turn people from the mature game market look elsewhere (PC\PS3\360) for those kind of games and no longer look at the Nintendo console for these kind of games.
It's Nintendo's choice, their right but then don't blame consumers when Mature rated games sell poorly on their console. A...
I thought I would like co-op because in theory it mixes the appeal of a story driven playthrough with the multiplayer element of playing with friends.
However what happens is that as a singleplayer, you get to see and experience less. Some of the coop players will get to see things you don't and sometime they'll trigger something ahead of you and you get interrupted in what you are doing and teleported to the next checkpoint or scene.
The games I played coop I ended...
