So instead it means the new motion controller is for Viva Pinata then?
I agree it should have been redone in 3D. I'm not a graphics junkie requiring only the latest and greatest graphics however I have moved on with my gaming and barely distinguishable pixelated graphics just don't do it for me anymore. PSP\PS2\Wii 3D graphics (or nice 2D like Vanillaware games) are the minimum for me nowadays.
Are games there treated unfairly or do the same apply to books and movies? If the same applies, you must have tons of banned books and movies. I feel bad for adult gamers over there.
I'm happy I kept my PS2. Even after the PS3 came out there were still some PS2 gems coming out. Now there will be a new Persona and later Yakuza is getting released in the US. I only get rid of consoles when it is no longer sold and support for it really drops off.
I agree though, if all PS3 had backward compatibility it would be ideal.
Bungie makes some fun games.
@1.4 I really like ONI back when it came out on the PC, it was really innovative for its time. It would be great to see what they could do today with a modern game engine.
@2.8, however the 360 doesn't have the same range of quality games the PS2 has. While the 360 has more JRPG than the original Xbox had, none of them have caught on yet like a Final Fantasy game. It also lacks in other genre like platformer, SRPG, etc. It's strength still lies with shooters and this generation it added FPS-RPG or US-RPG. It's an improvment and it keeps improving, just not PS2 comparable yet.
Yes once a year is not enough. My unit has been refurbished twice already. If I use the DRM tool to get my current unit updated with what I had bought previously and it dies within a year, then I'll need to use the tool again on a 3rd refurbish and it will be less than a year. In my case it's likely since it has starting to freeze again more frequently.
Agreed, need 2 thumbsticks. Don't even try to pull all touch screen gaming, that's only ok for casual games.
I agree, simple add-ons yet very useful for racing games that use the R2/L2 heavily. Also good for shooters that use the R2/L2.
The best part? It's optional. Don't like them or need them, don't use them. For those that do like or need them, it's available!
I also try to keep my expectations in check so as not to be disappointed. However I will rent first with the option to buy it if it is a keeper. It's risk management :)
I didn't disagree but Eternal Darkness was really good and Too Human is a different style altogether. All I'm saying is that I wouldn't compare the two.
I agree, this game needs a demo, not some web challenge.
Not many people will tell the truth but when all is said is done, I could see the Wii being the most oversold and yet most underplayed console.
Maybe they will try out 2.40 during that public downtime...
Funny you brought up their slogan, I think they should use this new one: EA, it's all the same.
Agreed, they can have the option to use motion sensing for games like Viva Pinata and other games like that while still relying on the regular controller for the regular games.
It would also be cool if they implemented a finishing system like Folklore where by doing some specific movements you could do gory finishing moves. It worked very well in Folklore; almost the only use of motion control I liked so far on the PS3.
I didn't disagree ChuckNorris but one big difference is that Boom Blox was not advertised well. Whereas LBP as been a part of a lot of PS3 articles and fan hype.
I agree eagle21, I actually posted a similar analysis on another thread a few days ago. It has the familiar feel of a Microsoft strategy, use viral posters and allies in the press to start spreading FUD about a competitor, then announce your own product, then use the same previous sources to applaud how this new product from MS is the answer to their recent prayers.
All they have to do is announce a portable Halo on it and their fanbase will hype it like there is no tomorrow. <...
Agreed. All casuals could rejoice at playing a daily life game like the Sims. However a game about evolution is beyond many casual gamers and in the US probably against the religious beliefs of at least 30% of them. I think it will only be popular with geeks and fans of games like SimCity and Civilization.
