Baseball barely has the gameplay to make for a actual game, how could a sport that involves hitting a ball then running between two points provide compelling gameplay?
Just because you're a fan of something or just because you actually enjoy playing whatever abomination of a sport it is you play. Doesn't mean its going to make an enjoyable game.
NHL, NBA, NFL, FIFA and even the extreme sport type titles actually offer some variation and different syst...
What? Don't like shooting massive walking buildings in their exhaust ports? Or crouching in chest high grass?
We have very high expectations for what our games look like visually, most people aren't willing to swallow the hit it takes to the detail of the game.
The MP of Halo Reach doesn't look that great to begin with, get 4 people together and it just looks so much worse. The draw distance on some environment details is ridiculously bad. I can't get over seeing a crate "warp" in as I run forward. Another example is the massive framerate hit that something like...
Just gonna come out and say it, sites that need to be translated aren't worth the click for me.
Speculation on specs from "Unnamed employee's" also aren't really something to base an article on.
@Awesomeperson
Good post, pretty much sums up how people should view things. Its to bad most people are far to insecure to realize it.
The trailer was about as Sacrilegious as it was sexist. People offend far to easily about things, or simply look for the controversy in anything.
Depicting a woman as sexualized isn't instantly sexist, I don't know where the "gender role" handbook said woman should roll with RPG's and kill dudes.
Thank god the high brow have arrived to show us all the light. But you're clearly right, MGS4 was definitely light on the violence. /s
I am not excited to play Revengeance just because of cut off limbs. Its like thinking people were only looking forward to Bayonetta because of Bayonetta.
Get off the pedestal.
Yeah like Shogun 2, Arma 2-3/Day Z, Real BF3, Guild Wars 2, King Arthur 2, Hawken, Mech Warrior Online, Firefall, End of Nations, C&C Generals 2, Planetside 2 etc etc
Sure am glad those are all available on my 360 and PS3.
Considering in Link to the Past Zelda says she is stuck in the dungeon, right at the beginning of the game...no, you wouldn't think that.
I didn't know a protagonist love interest is what separated mature games from others. Sheeesh...
A mini game like the Kratos & Aphrodite one in a Zelda title would just be dumb. I had the opportunity to play and grow up with some of the more revered Nintendo titles. I have never in my life thought that Nintendo needed to go to some ridiculous length to generate interest in their titles. I love Mario games for the gameplay, the music and the look of the games. If I wan...
Laugh out loud.
18.5 billion sure sounds bad.
I haven't paid 60 bucks for live in a long time, not even getting into the art of finding time cards for less then full price online. You're constantly bombarded with ads on the dashboard to renew or upgrade to gold for far less then what it is standard.
I know the gaming portion of the service is the exact same between the two. But what isn't the same is the concentration of friends and family on one platform versus the other. That's more than enough reason t...
or a NCR Legionnaire... but close enough.
But that isn't true, Doom used to be one of the most used Windows applications. Counter Strike was also an absolute phenomenon 2000-2001. Goldeneye was big and mainstream in my mind (I was actually there, you..I don't think so.) so was CS, they were known and they were big commanding lots of attention and in the case of Goldeneye INTRODUCING lots of people to FPS or games in general. You also seem to forget that Halo was the target of a lot of anti game vitriol just like Doom.

I was enjoying shooters and online multiplayer long before the DC dragged itself online on a screeching 56k modem. The weird thing is, and this might throw you for a loop...I enjoyed my N64 and Playstation at the same time, I know seems impossible. Warcraft 2 and Mario? Heresy.
Just curious, what was your experience like of the launch of the Xbox? Mine certainly included Halo, but also included things like Oddworld, PGR. Within a few months I had added, Blinx and Toe Jam and ...
The console marketplace is in decline. ;)
I played Doom and Wolfenstein on the SNES, so yes...you are correct sir. FPS has been around for awhile, especially in the 3-4 years leading up to the release of the Xbox and Halo.
in 2001, MP1 was a PRETTY big game.
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of 11 players on a field, at the centre of which is a rectangular 22-yard long pitch. One team bats, trying to score as many runs as possible while the other team bowls and fields, trying to dismiss the batsmen and thus limit the runs scored by the batting team. A run is scored by the striking batsman hitting the ball with his bat, running to the opposite end of the pitch and touching the crease there without being dismissed. The teams s...
