Best visuals amongst racing games, sure.
I know some people who played loads of WaW on the Wii, but didn't care about subsequent releases. I always thought considering the Wii's online system and the nature of the console itself (Pointing a Wiimote or Move Wand at a screen isn't comfortable) that the numbers that any of the CoD's pulled was pretty good.
The Wii just wasn't designed for the online element to take centre stage, not like the Xbox and PS3.

Yeah the glorified corridor shooter (Pretty much every console shooter) is getting boring, but the options available for amazing online FPS is pretty long on the PC. Hell, Shattered Horizon, Natural Selection 2 and Nuclear Dawn. You don't find boat loads of games like NS2 and Shattered Horizon.
Of course it's more on the development end, but the PC is a great place to start integrating different features that the consoles will inevitably be able to use in later generations.
Why not streamline these things now? Look at Frostbite 2. When the new consoles launch it's going to look CONSIDERABLY better then it does now (Without any real changes) because of the work DICE put in on the PC version.

Slightly Mad Studios from my understanding isn't backed by a major publisher. GT5 was backed by Sony heavily, and given all the time Polyphony wanted. It was a different situation. (Although I never thought the excess in which the complaining about GT5 got to was warranted.)
It says it's supposed to be released mid 2013, not sure if that's just the PC release or all...

Agree a million percent that CoD isn't worth purchasing a single console for.
Buuuuttttt the reality is, a lot of people would buy a Xbox specifically to play CoD. It's not like Madden or Fifa is going to be a PS exclusive, so it's not like a lot of those people have a huge incentive to not get the Xbox.

Really happy you have found some success with the Kinect. As much as people like to hate on the Kinect it's one of those devices that really has more possibilities then people give it credit for. I sincerely hope more software comes that fits the bill for what works for him.

There are plenty of JRPG on the shelf at this point for both the PS3 and 360. Not the same number as the PS1 days, or overall the same quality but who had the time to play most of the stuff released on the PS1?

Did you make a typo? The 7600 wasn't the best GPU... The 7800 series was(In 05). RSX is based on NV47, it's a 7800 with a chopped down ROP count and Memory bandwidth.
What you seem to forget is that there have already been rumours circulating that the GPU inside the Wii U is based on the R700. The R700 is many times more powerful then Nvidias G70/NV47 inside of the PS3.
Neither Sony or MS are going to release a console at 500+....
This is why PC games generally have sliders and little check boxes in the graphics settings.
If you have weaker hardware you check less boxes.

It isn't that hard, it just takes a bit of clicking. Don't defend a guy who doesn't pay attention to his kid, then blames the console when it goes awry.

All the things you listed CoD doesn't cause, that's just people.
And on the other side, I've enjoyed CoD for 9 years (2003 was a long time ago) I wont argue that they haven't gotten a touch stale, but for some people it can still be an enjoyable diversion when you don't have lots of time.

I never understood the fervour either way. If anyone wanted it that bad, go and buy a PS3. I would assume most people who really wanted it bought a PS3 for it when it was released. The vocal about it are just the adolescents and the literally crazy.

I wasn't sold on the idea of buying MGS4 again for trophies but you're right. A "fixed" MGO with the DLC would be something I would buy multiples of just to make sure people had it.
Maybe this is why they pulled down MGO? One can dream.
